“Phoebe has watched our two cats twice now and I will always book her to watch them when we’re out of town. The cats love her and she always sends cute updates and pictures everyday. She doesn’t just feed and water them, she interacts with them and gives them lots of cuddles while we’re away. She is so appreciated!!”

“Colleen was so excellent with Moosi! Feeding, playtime, and lots of pictures. It was a relief knowing that he was in good hands while we were away.”

“Excellent customer service!!! Lei is a very special kind of sitter !!! She was VEEEERY patient with our pet Milo, who is very grumpy and reactive. She won his trust and he became very fond of her. I definitely recommend Lei to be your next sitter!!! Thankful and honored by her caring demeanor.”

“Jennifer did an incredible job caring for our cat! She was thoroughly communicative, kind, and attentive to our cat's needs. She's professional and respectful and we highly recommend her!”

“Juan is AMAZING!! He went above and beyond with communication and over all care! My pup has special meds and Juan had no problem with it when feeding breakfast and dinner(: Juan went out of his way to go to a pet store to grab a sweater for my pup because it was cold out during their walks 🥹 It was so comforting to know Brody was with someone who goes the extra mile!! 10000% recommend!!!”

About: I have taken classes in dog behaviors and how they act when they might need a particular action done. I have a NAPPS certification, which is National Association of Professional Pet Sitters that is earned for all small animals, both including dogs and cats. I have had my own very young puppy, so I know how to handle and train them in a gentle manner that they will respond to. I have tons of experience in senior dogs and cats, so I am patient to more slow animals or paying attention to them more and making sure they have what they need. I have an extremely open schedule and can stay over for longer periods of time than most people. I am free almost every single day for hours on end, so finding when I can come over is no trouble. I’m easy to schedule if I need to house sit, and am extremely responsible and willing to stay overnight when needed. I love taking care of animals in their own homes, knowing they’ll feel the most comfortable surrounded by their familiar surroundings. The only thing I care about is that your furry companions are safe and cared for in a way that they don’t feel out of place or missing the love they got before you left them in my care.
“Taylor came by for a meet & greet with myself and my pup to see if it would be a good fit for a long-term dog sitter while I work long days. My shy and highly anxious pup ran up to Taylor immediately and did not even bark (a rarity for him!). Taylor was so thorough in the questions she had prepared and getting to know my dog’s schedule. I will definitely be using Taylor as a primary sitter for my dog going forward.”

“Isabelle is so kind and responsive she wrote really cute rover cards for each visit. I am so grateful I was able to find her for a last minute trip I had!”

“Aislyn was wonderful with our puppy Scout. She was super responsive, on-time, and provided great pictures and write-ups of our visit. That was especially important to us as Scout is our first puppy and we were nervous about leaving her home alone for the first time. Scout always looked so happy in the pictures and when we came home from work!”

“Mya helps us with our dog and three cats and I can’t say enough good things about her. She’s always on time and very communicative with updates about our pets. Mya is very good with animals…in fact our shy cat got in her lap the first day that she came to our house. Mya is the best!”
“Spencer and Julia were fantastic! They were super flexible for a meet and greet before completing a drop in visit for me. During the visit, they messaged me when they arrived, made sure to leave a note about how my dog did, and reassured me that they had locked the doors back when they left — all without me asking first. They sent multiple pictures and went above and beyond what I had asked them to do to care for my pup! Can’t recommend them highly enough!”

About: I have been caring for dogs for friends and neighbors for many years and have decided to branch out and find some more dogs to watch! I love every single dog that visits me, and they love me. Dog owners tell me it is the best possible home away from home and they feel so comfortable that their dog is in such good hands. Dogs are so happy with me, and I love having them around and sharing pics with you if you like when the dog is here. Lots of love, cuddles on the sofa, and plenty of walks around the neighborhood is what will happen here. I can only care for hypo-allergenic breeds or small short-haired dogs as my family has some allergies.
“Fantastic!!!We have two young, large dogs (German Shepherd and Bernese Mountain mixes) and Pamela earned their trust immediately and was super trust worthy while we had to be out of two for work unexpectedly. We don’t board our dogs, so we couldn’t leave them anywhere last minute and decided to use Rover for the first time. We will definitely use Rover going forward and highly recommend Pamela to everyone.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was young, and animals have always been a big part of my life. I’m currently a live-in nanny, and I also care for the family’s dogs. When their owners are away, the dogs stay with me and even sleep in my room so they feel safe and comfortable. I currently work part-time as a live-in nanny, which allows me some flexibility for pet care. However, I do have a busy schedule with regular dog-walking clients, so availability can vary. Please message me first to confirm scheduling before booking. I’ll always do my best to accommodate your needs if I have an open time slot. I prioritize safety, trust, and a calm environment for every pet in my care. I carefully follow each dog’s routine, feeding instructions, and any special requirements provided by the owner.

About: I’ve taken care of a multitude of different dogs and cats throughout my life - whether it be for friends, neighbors, family, or even coworkers! I have lots of experience in cat care - including grooming, nail trimming, and oral medications. I have 3 cats of my own, so I’m very adaptive to all sorts of cat personalities! My experience with dog care is just as plentiful! I’ve taken many on fun walks, played fetch, groomed fur, and dispensed oral medication. I’m rather good when it comes to pulling on leashes, and I also have experience training young puppies. I’m available at all times during the week! Whether you’re looking for someone to check in on your pup to feed, give bathroom breaks, groom, or play with, I’m available morning, afternoon and evening! The same applies to kitty owners! I always make sure all fenced in homes are securely locked in the event a dog wants to play outside. All leashes and collars will be checked before walks, and if your dog isn’t friendly with other dogs I will be sure to maintain a safe space between myself and other owners. As for cats, I always make sure that all doors are quickly closed and closed all the way to prevent any indoor kitties from escaping. If your cat is outdoor/indoor, I’ll make sure they get back inside safe and sound!
“Yiting has been so great as a cat sitter. She shares lots of updates about how the cats are doing and whether they're eating. We get tons of photos of our cats and videos, which is super reassuring.”

“I chose Aimee based on her reviews: I was nervous about leaving my three senior cats (one is special needs) for a few days and told Aimee. She helped relieve my anxiety by sending me her detailed notes and photos from each visit. I am so pleased with Aimee’s excellent care of my cats.”

“Maria was amazing checking in on our dog while we were gone all day! I asked her to come for four 30-minute trips and she came at all of the requested times and took our dog on four good walks - and he can be a stubborn walker! She was very responsive and provided good updates. We just rescued our dog a couple of weeks ago, and this was our first time leaving him for such a long period, but I was completely at ease. I will definitely be hiring Maria again! And I know our dog will be glad to see her!”

“Amber has been great each time she has cared for Nugget. She’s patient with Nugget’s mini attitude and has even been able to pet her which is rare for someone to do when I’m away. I appreciate the bond she’s established and how she keeps in contact with me. Amber will even do extra tasks like clean the litter area even though I forgot to ask that when we first established the details of care. Amber is and will continue to be my first call when I need someone to care for my fur baby.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Oakwood
We’ve been having Mya help us with our cats for a couple of years now and she’s hands down the best pet sitter! She goes above and beyond, giving them so much attention while we are gone. We love her reports…they are full of information and photos. It’s the next best thing to being home with our kitties!
Thank you Alison for the fantastic photos and detailed information about the information I’ve conveyed I care the most about. And going above and beyond and my baby boy (cat) leans into you even without prolonged exposure or time btw you two which means you give off good cat instincts :) thank you for doing what you do! I trust you in my house and w my boy :)

Lindsay was the best! I have a very clingy cat and she didn't hesitate to sit down and spend some time with her every visit. I received text and photo updates every day. It was a big relief knowing my favorites were taken care of while I was away. I'll be booking Lindsay for my time away in the future for sure!

Virginia was great with our two cats while we were away for our wedding, it was great to have peace of mind that they were in good hands. She very clearly loves cats and treated them with so much respect from their very first meeting! She also gave us updates through the Rover app each visit letting us know what mischief the cats got up to!

Kayly was a fantastic sitter for our cat while we were out of town!! She was so nice in our messages and sent us plenty of photos of our cat and made sure she was comfortable and well cared for. She also was very communicative throughout the service and responded to all of our messages very quickly. We’d recommend Kayly to anyone who is looking for a caring and communicative pet sitter!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
