About: I’m a pre-vet student who just graduated from UVA and has grown up with two large dogs! I’ve also recently owned a hamster from a college lab! I have a lot of experience dog and cat sitting for friends and family including puppies, kittens, and senior dogs and cats. I also have about 100 hours of dog walking experience from a shelter so I am comfortable with reactive/fearful/energetic dogs, and another 100 from shadowing at a vet practice. I just got a vet assistant job so usually it requires me to be away for 6 hours! I can only do all day pet sitting on Wednesdays and Sundays which I have off! I always make sure that I understand the instructions that I’m given and maintain clear communication with the owner if I have any questions. I never make any assumptions and always make sure that the owner is comfortable with any decisions that need to be made.
“Amanda did a great job with my two cats. She came on time and sent pics. One cat is very friendly the other very fearful. She handled both very well. Thank you Amanda!”

“Tricia was perfect! She really went above and beyond to take good care of my cats while I was away. I didn’t worry about them once while I was gone, which is honestly a first for me. I hope to always be able to book her in the future!”

About: I’ve been surrounded my dogs and cats my whole life. Typically I pet sit for friends. The pets I’ve watched are mainly dogs and cats but I’ve also done reptiles, guinea pigs, rabbits, etc. I had my own dog for 1 year and a half. We loved outdoor walks, hikes with couch snuggles mixed in. Most common breeds of dogs are Retriever, Pitbull and German Shepherds. Currently have open availability for any day of the week and any time! Open to extended stays and any length of time needed to watch. I’m not able to have pets in my home but I can come to yours and know plenty of parks in the DMV area.

“Elise was fantastic with our 2 cats! We spoke first, she came by the see the cats and get the scoop on the job. She is detailed, prompt and amenable to changes. She came highly recommended by a neighbor and was fantastic!”

“Amazing communication, were super flexible and able to accommodate last minute booking, would absolutely use them again. My pups made quite a mess and they left my home spotless and even took out the trash and replaced the bag. Very thoughtful and considerate relieves alot of stress”

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was 12 years old. I have specific experiences with all types of cats and dogs, including younger and older animals who may need some extra love, attention, medications, etc. I also have some experience with both dog and cat training. Dogs and cats are not just where the list ends, as I have experience taking care of bunnies, ferrets, horses, sheep, spotted geckos, birds, and fish. Neighbors, family, and friends consistently comment on feeling at ease leaving their animals in my care and really see that I treat their animals with the love and care that I do my own. I am available for both overnight and multiple day visits. I'm currently working hybridly, where I am in the office two days a week and work from home three days a week. My schedule is very flexible in terms of which days I need to go into the office. I am more than willing to work from home at your home if I am doing all-day visits. I also have a very flexible and open weekend schedule. I am very attentive and detail oriented, taking the time to care for your animal and paying attention to any routines and daily duties. I am very communicative, sending frequent animal updates and asking/answering any questions promptly.
“Afnan is so wonderful. I always know my kitty is in great hands when Afnan is watching her! I even joke that my kitty likes it better when I leave and her favorite cat sitter gets to come spend time with her. Perfect communication and flexibility. Thank you again 💜”

Monday–Friday: 3:30 PM – 7:00 PM Weekends: Available all day (morning, afternoon, and evening) I am able to adjust my schedule with advance notice when needed and can accommodate regular or recurring walks as well as occasional bookings. About: I have owned dogs and cats my whole entire life. I have dog-watched for neighbors since I was about 12 years old. I am very loving towards animals and am skilled in washing and walking them. There is nothing better than getting to hang out with animals as they provide an unmatched love in our lives. I currently own two disabled dogs so I like to think no challenge is too big or too small. I enjoy dogs and cats of all sizes. I am very good with time management so I plan to work with you to make sure your pet is getting the best attention while you are away from home. I appreciate your time in considering me for the jobs! I work a remote 9-5 so most evenings I am open but I am willing to schedule something out between work and your pet if you need me mid day I listen to the energy the animal is giving off. I try my best to clear myself of negative feelings and stress so the animals feel more at ease amongst my presence

About: Raising my own dog from puppyhood and caring for dogs of all ages has taught me how to show up with patience, love, and consistency. I’m comfortable with both active pups and laid‑back cuddlers, and I truly enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality. Dogs make life more fulfilling, and it would be an honor to care for your pup with the same warmth I give my own. 💕 I’m a grad student who works part time, so my weekday schedule is very open during the day. I can do check‑ins while you’re at work, and regular walks throughout the day. Your fur baby won’t have to wait long for attention, and I’m able to follow whatever routine helps them feel comfortable and cared for. I do have my own friendly dog at home, and I always make sure introductions are slow and safe so every pup feels comfortable. We live in a house in a quiet, dog‑friendly neighborhood with plenty of space for your pup to relax, explore, and enjoy walks. I keep a close eye on all interactions and follow whatever boundaries or routines help your dog feel secure.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Pimmit Hills
We absolutely loved working with Alison, who watched our two cats while we were away! Our cats immediately warmed up to her (even our shy cat Moki immediately came out and was comfortable with Alison, which is unusual for Moki!). Alison was a great communicator and sent great updates and photos each day. We hope to hire her next time we need a Catsitter as well!
Amanda has cat sat for our senior cat twice now, and went above and beyond both times. Unfortunately, our cat requires an intense medication schedule due to all of the health issues that she’s accumulated over time, which makes it difficult for us owners to travel without worrying about her. Amanda has been able to deliver on that medication schedule with flying colors. We feel so much better and relieved knowing that our needy cat is well taken care of. Thank you, Amanda!

Elizabeth is wonderful! She is taking great care of our cats while we’re away and is very reliable, attentive, and easy to communicate with. She follows all of our instructions carefully, keeps us updated, and gives us peace of mind knowing our cats and home are in good hands. We really appreciate her help and would absolutely trust her to care for them again. Highly recommend Elizabeth!
Elizabeth is the first sitter I ever used for my two cats and I will always rebook with her! She took such great care of my babies and made me feel comfortable knowing they were in good hands especially with one of my cats having a medical condition. Communication was fantastic, she sent an update and photo after every visit, and I could always count on her to be right on time.

I can’t thank Tricia enough! This was the first time my cat ever had a cat sitter and let someone in my own and Tricia was so communicative and kind from the very beginning to the meet and greet. All the photos each visit made me feel a little less sad being away knowing she was in great hands!! Just amazing attention to detail took so many notes from the meet and greet reached out with questions!! I am so thankful to have found her!!!!

Sarah has watched our cat at least three times now for extended periods of time and has done an excellent job every single time. She goes the extra mile by offering to do things such as watering plants, tidying up, rinsing off dishes, visiting extra days, and we are very appreciative and fortunate to have Sarah helping us, thank you!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
