“Elisabeth was available with only a few days notice and did an excellent job with an evening drop in on my little girl. I am very picky with who I trust with my furbaby and appreciate her doing a meet and greet prior to scheduling the reservation. Elisabeth was very friendly, professional, and great with animals - will definitely use her again!”

“Barb, The Relief Every Pet Owner Needs Over the years, I grew increasingly scared to leave my 3 cats in a stranger's care. If needed I always drove them to my parents but it became clear that the roadtrip stressed them out more than if I had just left them at home and had a stranger come by the house. As a 1st time Rover user, Barb was a perfect find! She made the whole process unbelievably breezy. She very punctual to the meet and greet she set up the same day I sent my request. I ran her through the cat's litter and feeding schedule and already felt good about her. Immediately after this meet and greet, she sent me a screenshot of the notes she took afterwards which were notes on the food/water/litter instructions we had discussed for the brief meet. This really sealed it for me; not only did Barb exhibit great memory recall but also great attention to detail which is certainly needed in pet care. I had Barb check in twice a day for my 3 cats for a total of 9 days. She is very punctual to the times discussed and an expert with sending photos of furry loved ones to ease anxieties. She also made sure I was made aware of any event that occurred immediately in the Rover Card for that very check-in time. When responding to her or asking her questions she was quick and attentive with her responses. One of my cats loves to escape and is a bit of a "queen of the house" type of cat so she gets a bit protective of "her home" and after giving Barb some tips and tricks in what we do, my cat became calmer and more accepting of Barb as more check-ins occurred. They grew closer towards the end which is a testament of Barb's personality and care qualities. My other 2 cats are shy ones so there was a worry that we wouldn't be able to confirm if they were eating or not. But eventually Barb's calm and gentle presence coaxed them out enough to be spotted for a food grab or a hydration stop every now and then. Overall, having Barb as a first time Rover sitter and first time pet sitter was a perfect match and I feel lucky to have had her watching over my pets.”

“Teodora was so great and relieved my stress about having to go to work right after my foster pup was neutered. She had excellent communication and sent lots of pictures. She made sure his cone was still intact and he got all the cuddles during their hour together. I will continue to book with Teodora if I end up adopting this sweet little guy :)”
“Christina was very kind and accommodating during her check ins with our two cats. They warmed up to her right away, so we knew they were in good hands. We will definitely be booking with Christina again in the future!”

“Youyou did a wonderful job pet sitting 2 of my cats. One of my cat has epilepsy and needs to be administered med orally via a syringe and she did great with it. She also gave a detail report of the visit which I very appreciated. Overall, I would highly recommend Youyou!!”

“The peace of mind Amanda brought to our whole family during an overseas trip cannot be overstated. We have a special needs kitty and we came home to a happy, energetic cat that never seemed to skip a beat. She routinely sent us photos and notes on her visit. She left our house clean and organized… easing the return. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone and we will surely lock in with her during our next holiday!!! So very thankful for her caring spirit….”

“Kaitlyn did an amazing job checking in our kitty. The photos and videos were so thoughtful and gave us a reassuring insight to our pet’s mood. She was able to easily adapt to our instructions and gave us peace of mind while away. She went above and beyond in her service and we will absolutely use her again in the future and recommend her to other fur parents are well!”

“Eliza is kind, trustworthy and truly cares about the pets she cares for. She went the extra mile with our elderly lab and we were able to be more at ease on our vacation knowing Eliza was looking in on him.”

We offered not only petsitting, walks and daycare, but boarding, grooming and pickup/drop off services. I worked there for three years in my young adult years. It was a very rewarding and fun part of my life, and every furry friend was a unique character I will never forget! I also have a ton of natural energy, and love to get some exercise on walks. I am currently flexible all day during the week. I have recently left the corporate world and I am in the process of building my professional organizing business to step away from the corporate rat race. Alex is so amazing! She’s taken care of our cats twice now and it’s been great each time. Very communicative and accommodating, stays longer than we even say, and takes a lot of pictures and videos :). One of our cats was also on medications and she handled that with ease as well! Definitely would rebook!

Amber is amazing. She took exceptional care of our three maine coon cats, including our elderly cat who required medication. They received lots of love and attention while we were away and her pictures and visit reports were wonderful. I highly recommend Amber.

Manrong went above and beyond in caring for and feeding Moonbeam our cat while we were out of town for a few days. She was very thorough in cleaning out dishes, refilling fresh water, mealtimes, playtime, and did her utmost to open/close shades and maintain a great home environment every time she stopped by to take care of MB. She also gained MB’s trust each day. She was punctual, communicative, and asked questions/ shared updates frequently. She gave us so much of peace of mind! I would recommend her as one of the best petsitter’s we have come across!

Lauren was great with my two cats. She was very friendly, attentive and I felt very comfortable having her care for them. One of my kitties has asthma and she was able to administer his inhaler which was fantastic! Will absolutely book with her again in the future 😊

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
