About: Hi there! I’m a recent graduate from the University of Virginia (3.94 GPA, Public Service Scholar, Double-Major) and have been caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities since I was young. Neighbors, friends, and local families have relied on me for feeding, playtime, and drop-in visits (both cats and dogs), and I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for in their own home and on walks. I truly love spending time with dogs—they’re honestly one of my favorite parts of life. I bring a fun, positive energy to each visit, while also staying calm, patient, and attentive to each dog’s individual needs. I treat every pet like my best friend and always approach care with compassion and consistency. Please note: I use only positive reinforcement when caring for animals, and I’m happy to reinforce basic training during walks or visits if requested. I also genuinely enjoy giving baths, so I’d be happy to help keep your dog clean and fresh as an add-on service. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and follow instructions closely. I always send updates and photos so you can feel confident and at ease while you’re away. I’m currently in my gap year, saving for graduate school, and would love to spend that time caring for pets in the Reston area! As a post-UVA Grad, I have an extremely flexible schedule following mid-May. I provide care exclusively in/around your home, including requested walks, baths, playtime, and other specified general care. I pride myself on strong communication and provide regular updates and photos so you always feel informed and at ease. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding routines, walk schedules, medications (if needed), and any household guidelines. I’m careful with doors, gates, leashes, and home security, and I always double-check that everything is secure before leaving. I focus on keeping your pet in their familiar environment, or, where requested, so they feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and comfort level, whether they need playtime and energy or a calm, quiet presence. I use only positive reinforcement and never punishment. I also send regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing and can feel confident they’re in good hands upon each drop-in or walk.
About: We’re a dependable mother–daughter pet-sitting team with 30 years of combined experience caring for, training, fostering, and loving animals of all shapes and sizes. 🐾 Over the years, we’ve cared for dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, birds, fish, and many other pets. Our own family has included Whippets, Labs, Shepherds, Mastiffs, Basset Hounds, and Chihuahua mixes, and as sitters and fosters we’ve cared for many more breeds—including Bulldogs, Retrievers, Huskies, Poodles, Mountain Dogs, Great Danes, and plenty of wonderful mixed breeds. 🐕 🐕🦺 🦮 🐩 We’re comfortable with puppies, large dogs, older dogs, and pets with individual routines or personalities. One of us is working toward dog-training certification, and we both have puppy-training experience. 🦮🚶♀️ We gently reinforce good habits, routines, and leash manners through patience, consistency, TLC, and positive handling. Most importantly, we understand that every pet has its own personality, pace, and needs. As home owners ourselves who have lived in three different neighborhoods in the DMV, we specialize in providing attentive, respectful, and reliable care while keeping your pets comfortable in the surroundings they know best--your home! When your pet stays with us, they become part of the family. Our home is set up with safety and comfort in mind, with a secure fenced yard, indoor gates, and separate spaces when pets need a little room of their own. Our designated pet areas—including our family room—are regularly cleaned and stocked with plenty of blankets, toys, and chew toys. 🪢 🥎 🧺 Our cats stay comfortably upstairs, giving them their own space away from visiting dogs. Most important, someone is always home with your pets. They get lots of companionship, attention, affection, and access to our outdoor space whenever they want it. Mom is the primary sitter, with her daughter—an apprentice vet and lifelong animal lover—often helping out. Together, we provide the kind of attentive, loving care we would want for our own pets. We’d love to provide reliable care for your pets at home or welcome them into our home! ❤️ We are currently working flexible hours and one of us is out of school for the summer, so we have plenty of time and flexibility to play with your pups! When we welcome you pets into our home, someone is always home with them. We are experienced dog walkers comfortable caring for pets in urban, suburban, park, and country settings. Whether your dog enjoys neighborhood walks, park outings, or a calmer pace, we adjust to each pet’s personality, energy level, and routine. For pet sitting in our home, we have a gated kitchen/family room area where pets can stay safely with us, as well as a fenced patio where they can get fresh air and companionship. We have the ability to separate your pets from other pets if that helps them feel secure. We can also crate your pet if that is part of their normal routine or helps them feel secure.
“A massive thank you to Jake for taking such great care of our kitties while we were away on our trip! We appreciated the daily updates with detailed descriptions of the visit, and also the photos he would include for us of our boys :) Jake is an extremely reliable, dependable and communicative sitter and we will be happy to work with him again in the future!”

“Keila did such a wonderful job with our 95 lb jumpy/excited boxer the first time she watched him, we immediately booked her again for our next longer trip (10 days!) and am so glad we did. We felt really comfortable with her already, but every visit she did she sent photos and typically added funny notes and that made it even better. She spent a lot of time with him for drop ins and clearly gave him plenty of exercise. We will reach out to Keila and pray she’s available for all our future needs! Highly recommend.”

“Asher has a lot of experience with cats, especially if they need medication. I felt very comfortable leaving my boy, Max, in her care. He was healthy and happy when I got home and she reported that he took his meds like a champ every day!”

“Amazing experience. Rosemary is punctual, knowledgeable, and truly listens to individual dog needs. My dogs loved her right away, and she was so nurturing during her time with them. We will be booking again!”

“Alexa took such great care of my cat while I was away. I loved how I could rely on how punctual her check-ins were and how consistently she communicated. It really helped to make me feel at ease and know my cat was in great hands. My cat was very spoiled by all of the affection she got and I know she can’t wait to see Alexa again!”

“Mary was communicative, caring and shared detailed updates! We had a lot of peace of mind that the cats were well taken care of while I was away, and they were happy and secure when we arrived home. Look forward to having Mary watch our cats again!”

“Claire was wonderful. I reached out to her in the morning a couple of hours before I needed her to come check on my three dogs. She made it happen on really short notice and played with them for an hour. Very grateful. She is patient and kind with our dogs and she is very reliable. Thank you Claire!”

“Leah, thanks so much for taking good care of my cat, Bagheera! I appreciate the photos and updates. Thanks also for doing your best to clean when she vomited- I know that was an extra hassle.”

“Ed was great! My cat was well cared for during our longer than normal vacation. He got the attention he needed and was happy to be able to remain at home instead of going to a kennel. Ed would send pictures of my cat eating, getting scratches and receiving treats so I knew all was well at home. It was a load off my mind knowing the cat was happy and healthy during our trip! Would definitely use Ed again to care for my cat.”

“Christine could not have been more professional and fantastic. Marty is often a bit standoffish, but, in every picture we saw of him, he looked happy and well cared for. We’ll definitely be calling on Christine when we head out in the future!”

“Abby took wonderful care of my cat, in every way; both kind and reliable - highly recommend her!! I instantly felt at ease with her when leaving my newly-adopted older kitty for the first time, which made traveling less worrisome for me. She stayed in great communication with me and even helped to secure my cat when apartment maintenance needed to enter my place. I’m grateful to her, and we look forward to working with her again.”
“Natalie was a great sitter for our cat! She was extremely thorough with her updates and we could tell that she spent quality time with our cat while we were away. Highly recommend her to anyone!”

Alexa is amazing!! From first outreach, she was super responsive and easy to communicate with. She made sure our cats were well cared for and even spent extra time with them, and sent plenty of photos. I’d definitely recommend her and would happily book with her again!

Jennifer, You did an awesome job watching our senior cat, the fish and for sending us the photos every day. You were a reliable communicator, which was reassuring. Thank you for everything you did. Our cat looked happy in the photos you sent and was in great shape when we returned. We would definitely choose you to sit again. Thank you! -Emmitt’s family
Nicole continues to be the greatest pet sitter and human being! Our furry baby Ozzie adores her and I swear he misses her when she’s not here! Nicole dealt with more than she should have during our most recent trip and had our backs through it all! Thank you so much, Nicole! You are so amazing and appreciated!

I needed a cat sitter last minute for 4th of July weekend, and luckily I found Morgan for drop-in visits. She was very sweet and accommodating, and took excellent care of my cats. She provided detailed updates, lots of photos, and took the time to play and interact with them. I trusted that my cats were in good hands with her. I’d recommend Morgan to anyone in need of a petsitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Crowells Corner. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
