“This was my first experience using Rover and Kelsey put my mind completely at ease. She was very attentive and communicative and sent lots of picture/video updates while I was away. I know Kiwi was well cared for!”

“Jennifer is so good with my dog, who is not easy, and she’s incredibly reliable and dependable. She has never missed a day, and if she’s going to be even a little late, she always communicates that to make sure I’m aware. She clearly loves dogs, and it shows in how she takes care of them. One of the other great things is that she will do things like bring in packages, roll my garbage can up, and little things like that that I’ve never even asked her to do, but it shows how thoughtful and conscientious she does that she just takes care of them. Absolutely the best care I’ve ever had for any pet”

“Cliff was fantastic, I highly recommend! He was easy to schedule with, super communicative, and sent detailed reports/pics over. My cat felt immediately comfortable with him and she’s super picky about who she gets along with. Will definitely be booking with Cliff again!”

“Shauna is great! She’s been really helpful in integrating our puppy into our home and getting him on a schedule. She’s wonderful with Ducky, our 4 1/2 month old handful. She’s punctual, communicative, and specifically works on the things Ducky needs help with. Highly recommend!!!”

“Erin has been our go to cat sitter since we moved to the area. Erin is consistently caring and detail oriented. We travel with ease knowing our kitties are loved and cared for by Erin. Thank you Erin for everything you do.”

“Laura was great with our cat and dog. They were well taken care of while we were out. She had good communication and let us know what was going on with the fur babies and made sure they got spoiled.”

“I had to travel into town with my dog and it was going to be long work days. I was relieved to find Rachael and meet her — knowing my dog would be well cared for! Highly recommended her to others!”

“Leah was very helpful and the communication went smoothly. She took good care of our kitties. She gave the kitties their wet food and supplements, as well as some play time.”

“Keila did such a wonderful job with our 95 lb jumpy/excited boxer the first time she watched him, we immediately booked her again for our next longer trip (10 days!) and am so glad we did. We felt really comfortable with her already, but every visit she did she sent photos and typically added funny notes and that made it even better. She spent a lot of time with him for drop ins and clearly gave him plenty of exercise. We will reach out to Keila and pray she’s available for all our future needs! Highly recommend.”

“Allie did such a great job taking care of our cat while we were away! She went above and beyond to make sure that our cat was well cared for and comfortable. She was very responsive when we had questions, as well. Our cat warmed up to her very quickly and was happy when we returned. We highly recommend Allie!”

“I recently entrusted Christina P. with the care of my three beloved cats – Tiger, Apollo, and Ash – for a week, and I couldn't be more impressed with her service. Christina went above and beyond in ensuring the well-being and happiness of my cats. From providing them with regular meals to spending quality playtime with each of them, she showed genuine affection and dedication towards their care. Communication was seamless throughout the entire process. Christina provided regular updates and even sent adorable pictures of my cats. I wholeheartedly recommend Christina P. to anyone in need of a reliable and compassionate caretaker for their animals. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine love for animals make her an exceptional choice.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all ages- as well as puppies. I grew up in a household that bred border collies so I have a lot of experience taking care of dogs and puppies! I’m currently not working so I have plenty of time to assist in whatever need you have for your fur baby/babies! I have a 5 year old daughter but she goes to school during the day! I follow each pet’s routine closely so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. That includes feeding schedules, potty breaks, exercise, and any special instructions. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of your space and keep your pet’s routine consistent. My priority is always safety, comfort, and lots of love.
“Nicole was attentive and energetic with our very very love-driven cat! She clearly is a cat-lover like us and took such good care of Bess. We will absolutely be choosing her again for the future!”

Colleen did a great job sitting for my two cats while one of them was sick. She gave me helpful updates, sent nice pictures and was also able to administer medicine. I felt really at ease after the first visit seeing how she was updating me, would definitely recommend her!

Caroline was amazing with our 3 kitties. She took great care of them, kept us updated and sent the cutest pictures. We have one male cat who can be a little tricky, but he took a liking to her very quickly and she knew how to handle him. She gave us peace of mind while we were away. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent sitter.

Lindsey did a great job, taking care of our dog and cats! We contacted her on short notice and she came and did a meet and greet and understood what we needed done. When we arrived home we had a happy pup, who had received his meditations, and cats who didn’t care that we left or came home.😂

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
