“Paige is so wonderful with our cats and we are lucky to have her take care of them. She's conscientious and sends such adorable pictures of them. I highly recommend her if you need a pet sitter.”

“I was very nervous leaving my little guy because while he is a cat, he is very social and affectionate. When I’m gone for a while he starts get anxious. First visit I could tell he found an instant friend in Sanya. She shared so many snuggly pictures it made me feel completely at ease to be away from him. She will always be my go to sitter moving forward!”

“I had to travel into town with my dog and it was going to be long work days. I was relieved to find Rachael and meet her — knowing my dog would be well cared for! Highly recommended her to others!”

“Alexandra dropped in to check on my 2 kittens. She was very responsive and available for a meet and greet on short notice. I will definitely be using her services in the future!”

“Brianna was very attentive to the needs of my pet, and I am quite pleased that I have chosen her. I will be definitely using her service in the future, and highly recommend her.”

About: I have had several dogs but do not currently have any pets. I have had to give medicine to dogs and lots of experience with puppy “accidents”. I’m a teacher, so during summer and breaks I have lots of free time. I have two boys, both of whom love animals. They would love to have a pet visit our home. I can only house-sit when I don’t have my children with me, but can board an animal anytime. Important to note that during the school year my Friday availability is evening only. I have a fenced yard. At my home, I can almost guarantee your dog or cat would get to sleep in a child’s bed and be loved like family. At your home, I would respect any rules you have set.

About: Huge lover of dogs and puppies of all sizes and breeds! I grew up with family dogs and fostered dogs throughout college; it was a super rewarding and FUN experience. I’ve dealt with shy dogs, dogs with anxiety and pups as young as 6 weeks. Eventually I adopted my own and I can now say I’ve spent hours on end at dog parks. I am a happy owner of a 5 year old mix named Tucker (DOB: 9/20/17) and 1 year old golden retriever puppy named Skye (DOB: 3/20/22). My fiancé and I as a team will both be responsible for your fur babies so you get 2 dog sitters for the price of 1! We would love to meet, care and play with your pup and I'm sure our dogs will too. Just to note: Tucker is weary with humans and will bark his head off the second he sees a PERSON he doesn’t know... but other than that, he has no problems with other dogs and would love to hang out with yours! My work schedule changes weekly based on my team's attendance that week, but typically I am in the office Mon-Thurs. On days I’m in the office, I’m gone from about 9am–4:30pm. We have a pet cam set up for when we are hosting other dogs so that we are able to monitor them sleeping on the couch all day. If your dog is house-trained and/or crate-trained and is comfortable being in a calm environment, they are welcome to come hang out with Tucker and Skye during the day! As soon as me or my husband are home from work, we’re back to playing, going on walks around the neighborhood, or heading to the dog park. On days I work from home, your pup will get tons of attention. There’s lots of playtime with my dogs and walks throughout the day. We live in a super dog-friendly area with plenty of walking paths and parks, so there’s always something to do. When your dog stays with me you can expect: 1. A team of 2 dog sitters for the price of 1! (my husband & I) 2. Lots of play with our two dogs 2. Walks around the neighborhood 3. Photo updates to show that you’re dog is happy, comfy and settling in okay! A couple things to note: 1. We have 2 dogs in the house currently (your dog must get along with other dogs). Both our dogs are typically low-key and just laze around with us, but they are also always ready to walk and play at all times. 2. We have a (small) fenced patio area out back for them to potty and be outside. They will have plenty of space inside and outside to play with each other, however, since we don't have a full yard, your dog(s) will join ours on our neighborhood walks.
“John was amazing with our two pups! He saved our trip by agreeing last minute to help out. He provided great updates, he was very thorough and detailed and he showed a great deal of care for the dogs! Would highly recommend him to anyone!”

“Ana is a caring, dedicated and reliable cat sitter. I always feel comfortable when my cat is in her care. Ana, has helped me at a moments notice. I am truly appreciative of her pet services.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Lowes Island
Abigail took great care of Cinders and Pepper whole their owners were away for the weekend. She followed all care instructions, gave them their medications, and spent a good deal of time with them so they didn't get lonely. We'll definitely think of Abigail again for next time!

Alexandra did a great job watching my cat who has pica! She was timely and followed the provided care instructions and shared pictures and updates every visit. She also let us know about the power outage and gave us updates so we could be sure our cat was doing okay during it. Nahla clearly enjoyed spending time with Alexandra, we will definitely hire her again in the future.

Lindsey did a great job, taking care of our dog and cats! We contacted her on short notice and she came and did a meet and greet and understood what we needed done. When we arrived home we had a happy pup, who had received his meditations, and cats who didn’t care that we left or came home.😂

I will definitely request Rasha the next time i need pet care. At our first meeting my dog jumped right next to her on the sofa as if she knew her! This first experience with Rasha caring for my cat was so reassuring. She provided pictures of Bari with each visit. I really appreciated those pictures and could see that Bari was being well taken care of by Rasha. Accompanying the pictures were little bits of information about how was acting or eating. He was welcoming to her visits! I’m very pleased with her care and trust her judgment with my pets. I will definitely contact Rasha to care for my pets when needed.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lowes Island. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
