“Jessica was wonderful with all of our pets! I always get anxious leaving my “pack” (3 dogs, 4 cats) for the weekend but Jessica was wonderful and took such good care of them. I would totally hire her again!”
“Andrew was great! This way my first time using Rover and I was so nervous about leaving my cat. He made me feel comfortable leaving her in his hands and she loved him (she typically hides when she isn’t sure of someone).”

“Catherine was such a relief after a number of bad experiences with cat sitters who forgot to come or forgot the care needed for our cats. Catherine is very professional, left simple and timely notes about our kittie’s status after each visit, and left us feeling assured of their well-being. I will definitely be looking to book Catherine again!”
About: I grew up always having dogs in my family, and now I love caring for yours! I have fostered and cared for many puppies and dogs, and have adored every one! I give them lots of love, and help them feel at home. I work from home with a lot of flexibility, so am here for you. Since I work remotely, I can care for your pets in my home or yours. Available to help you with walks, overnights, weekends and more. I am mature, experienced and trustworthy. I will treat your dog like they're my own so you can feel comfortable leaving them in my care. I love to let them cuddle on the couch, play with toys in the yard, and have gates available, if needed.
“Rene is absolutely fantastic. She was always prompt, diligent and so caring for our cat. This was our first time leaving Milo. Rene immediately put us at ease. She communicated constantly. She came prior to the scheduled visits to meet Milo, who loved Rene instantly. During the visits, Rene sent us pictures of Milo. She did “all the things” (litterbox, food, water etc), probably more carefully than we do at home haha. Rene even brushed Milo, which was above and beyond. We are so happy Rene took care of our pet. We can’t say enough good things about Rene.”

“Leticia was amazing. She took such great care of our dog Scooby and our cat Sandy while we were away for the weekend. She kept us updated, was easy to communicate with, and clearly loves animals. We came home to two happy and relaxed pets, which is all we could ask for. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.”

About: I was a professional pet care provider for almost 2 years, servicing dogs, cats, reptiles, and fish. I have had pets most of my life, I grew up in a home with 3-5 doberman at any given time so I'm comfortable and familiar with big dogs. I have been helping my partner care for their tropical and freshwater fish as well as their reptiles for many years now. I am also a proud cat owner of 7 years. So I have a large amount of experience with many types of animals! I am currently a full-time student, school is very important to me right now but animals are a close second. Outside of classes (which of course, has schedule changes every semester) I am very free to care for your animals. I am comfortable with early morning and late nights. I cannot house your pets at my home, but while I am with your fuzzy family members at your homes/in your neighborhoods I will ensure they receive the utmost care, respect, and love! I will follow all the rules and guidelines you have with your animals as well as take extra precautions to guarantee excellent care is given to your babies.
“Nicole was wonderful … very communicative and easy to work with. She followed care instructions perfectly and was very tolerant of some of our cat idiosyncrasies (peeing accidents outside the litterbox 😬) - cleaning up as needed. Her detailed updates reflected the thorough care she was providing - playing and interacting with our cats, understanding their personalities, along with usual care duties. Highly recommend - we look forward to using her again!”

“Dymond was amazing! She accepted our request at the last minute and really helped us out with our dog. She was super communicative and sent lots of pictures and videos. In the past when we’ve left our dog with a sitter she’d act nervous and scared when we returned home. This time with Dymond though, our dog was happy and calm when we came back. We can tell she got a lot of exercise and had fun! We will definitely use her again and highly recommend her to others for your pet sitting needs!”

“Thank you for taking such great care of Belle and for your calm during the unforeseen interactions with other dogs on her walk. I’m glad everything went well and I am thankful that she was in good hands while I spent time with my family.”

“Candice was a fantastic sitter for our two kitties on our recent trip. My cats are super needy and she was able to keep track of their many specifics and took exceptional care of them. Will be happy to have her sit them in the future.”
“Pilar is awesome! She is great at communicating and left a very detailed report of her time with our puppy after each visit. She is also great at being patient with our puppy. We are definitely hoping to book with Pilar again!”

“Nathalie was very kind and patient with our pup, and great at communicating with us despite a 6 hour time difference. Very reliable and trustworthy, will definitely be using her services again in the future.”

“We couldn’t be happier with Jina! She went above and beyond to make our skittish cat comfortable with her during drop ins. Her reports were detailed with plenty of pictures. We look forward to book Jina again!”

“This is our second time booking with Alex, and she’s been wonderful both times! She’s reliable and great with both our cats and chinchillas. We really appreciate her updates and attention to detail during drop-in visits. Highly recommend!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - North Potomac
Brooke has been a Godsend to me and my fur baby, Henry. I’ve used her for all my cat sitting needs recently because she is so thoughtful, communicative and responsible. My cat is quite shy and has warmed to her - I recommend any nervous cats to be in her care. She also helped me out last minute due to a family emergency. She was very flexible and responsive, cleaned out my fridge and even brought over litter to help when I ran out. She is my favourite cat sitter 🤍

Andrew was an excellent sitter for our two kitties while we were away. He sent us numerous photos and adhered strictly to their routine. It was evident that our kitties adored him and were delighted to see him in the pictures. We’re definitely planning to use Andrew again for our next trip away.🥰

Jony is a great sitter— communicative, responsive, friendly, and professional. We’re grateful he was available on such short notice and that he cared for our cats like they were his own. We especially appreciated the pictures and updates that showed each cat’s personality.

Mia was so great! Our cats loved her and were always so excited to see her while we were away. We were celebrating the life of my mother so it gave us comfort to know our pets were in great care since all of us were gone at the same time. Mia was excellent with communication and updates and the photos she captured and sent were adorable! We’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for genuine pet care

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in North Potomac. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
