“Thank you for taking such great care of Belle and for your calm during the unforeseen interactions with other dogs on her walk. I’m glad everything went well and I am thankful that she was in good hands while I spent time with my family.”

About: I’ve had experience with both dogs and cats since I was a toddler! My family has always had Sheltie dogs, and I have always had cats of my own! I have experience as a foster parent to cats and kittens of all sizes. My cat Tater Tot is a foster fail! I also have experience dog and cat sitting for friends over the years, including in home care, dog walking, senior dog care, and puppy care as I raised my own dog, Honey, from just a few months old! I am currently in the midst of starting my own pastry business, so I am extremely flexible as I work through the paperwork and business planning! I am completely flexible in my schedule, and am available any day of the week any time as my work is a currently remote and flexible! I currently do not offer care in my home, but I am very comfortable doing pet care in clients homes. My most recent dog-sitting client had three dogs of various ages and temperaments, and I was comfortable entering the home, walking and spending time with them, feeding and giving the elderly dog medication, then crating the two others! As a pet parent, I know how important it is to spend quality time and play time with pets while they are missing their family!

“Lingshan was fantastic! She checked in on my cat over the holidays, and she was so attentive and thoughtful in her care of our cat and home. We will highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I can remember. From house sitting, to walking them, to even taking care of my own dog. I’ve worked with different breeds and ages, and I love them all! I stay at home mostly throughout the week, and I’ve been wanting to get out a couple of times, and this would be the perfect opportunity to take care of your dogs in walking, or dropping by to play! I live in an apartment complex, so I would have to go to where you are to walk/play with your dog, or I could take them to a dog park!

“Melissa is a fantastic sitter. She was full of great questions at the Meet and Greet, clearly has much experience and is very sensitive to the needs of the pet and the instructions of the pet parent. During Visits, she was engaged and communicative, taking lots of photos/videos and spending all her energy and attention on my cat. I felt so much better about being away knowing that he was getting attention, love, play, and snuggles while we were gone. I will 100% be asking Melissa back for our next trip. She was amazing to work with!”

“Alice was so wonderful and gave me lots of updates and pictures of my cat and let me know how he was behaving, eating, etc. Her level of communication was exactly what I was hoping for since I had just moved & this was the 1st time I had been gone for a few days since the move. I really appreciated her reassurance that he was fine.”

“Pilar was fantastic with our 3 cats for 10 days! She came over for a meet and greet and was very attentive to all their needs. We felt very comfortable and confident with Pilar watching our cats and taking care of our home so respectfully. She was able to administer daily medication for one of our boys, which is a huge plus. We highly recommend Pilar and will be booking her again for future trips!”

I am looking to head back to school for veterinary medicine with focus on large animal sports medicine/orthopedics. Eventually mixed practice too. In the horse world, I have 33 years under my belt, with my godmother introducing me at age 3. I am passionate about pet care, large and small. Most experience with cats, dogs, and horses and looking to expand. From the toy breeds of canine, to the extra large goofs, I enjoy caring for your loved ones as if they were my own. Shy guys? No problem! I take my time letting them get to know me without offense. Need a little extra help on training homework from your professional training team? Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Potomac
Ana did an exceptional job caring for our cat, Louie. Louie tends to be shy and anxious when we’re away, but he quickly warmed up to her. She provided thorough updates following each visit to help ease my own anxiety - I had no question he was in great hands throughout our time away.

Alice was so wonderful and gave me lots of updates and pictures of my cat and let me know how he was behaving, eating, etc. Her level of communication was exactly what I was hoping for since I had just moved & this was the 1st time I had been gone for a few days since the move. I really appreciated her reassurance that he was fine.

Ashley was an absolute gem! She was completely reliable; we never had to wonder if she’d show up or follow through. The adorable photos she sent at every visit became the little highlight of our day we’d find ourselves looking forward to. The biggest sign she was doing something right? Our cat normally wolfs down her food out of anxiety or boredom when we travel — with Ashley, she ate totally calmly and looked happy in the photos. That said it all. We’re so grateful for the peace of mind and will 100% be rebooking her. Highly recommend!

One of the best pet sitters I have had. I have an older cat with medical problems. My 2nd cat can be aggressive with strangers especially when giving my older cat meds. She had the least problems of any pet sitter and was great with handling both. She is reliable and competent. Just did an amazing job.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
