“Danny was a God-send! He was super responsive, accommodating, conscientious, and responsible. He was also wonderful with our dog, Mojito, who looks out the door every afternoon as if waiting for Danny. 😃 I can't recommend Danny enough and will definitely be using him again.”

About: I love animals and had pets my entire life. As a trusted member of the community, I have grown up in this area and have a full-time healing business supporting people. I bring that same dedication, respect and dependable care to your pets and your home. I look forward to meeting you. I have control over my own schedule with my clients. With a small business, I can plan accordingly to care for your pets and home with dependability. I like to bring a calm, loving, assertive disposition to dogs--bonding with them beginning with good exercise. After which, I allow them to stroll at their own pace and share with them the level of attention they desire. For cats, I respect their space as they wish and am available to play or give them attention. I always look forward to giving any animal cuddles as well as respecting their space.
“Francis was fantastic! Our cat is pretty skittish and came out during her visit. She sent great pictures and videos. Will definitely book her again for future trips.”

“Pamela is absolutely wonderful!! The pups absolutely love her, she is extremely knowledgeable and you can tell she really cares about animals. She went above and beyond to make sure the pups were well taken care of, we have three with one recovering from major surgery so no small task!”

“William really put us at ease with his kindness, attention to detail and overall professionalism during our absence. Our boy was his regular self when we returned which speaks to the calm effective way he was cared for. Thanks William!”

About: I have taken care of my friends and familys pups and I have two 13 year old pups! I love being around dogs and spending time with them! I am currently available everyday until I leave to college where I will study veterinary! I am also very flexible with my schedules. Whatever is most comfortable for you and your pups! I have an unfenced backyard if your pup is trained off-leash. I have a dog park nearby my house. My neighbor is super dog friendly with sidewalks all around!

About: Ive grown up with dogs since I was 4 years old and had independently trained them on my own. I’m a BIG animal lover cats AND dogs of all sorts. Any pet sitting/walking endeavors you seek I am more than happy to help out especially with the current season of summer travelling In currently on summer break from college with full access to a car. My major plans for the summer which includes classes and travelling had recently concluded, so that leaves me with full availability throughout the rest of the summer I train clear boundaries within the home (no wandering in the kitchen) and remain all food items and tools off the floor. I also keep various toys such as Kongs and puzzles to keep my dog stimulated indoors. I’m also pretty active myself so most of the time I like to go on walks
About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I can remember. From house sitting, to walking them, to even taking care of my own dog. I’ve worked with different breeds and ages, and I love them all! I stay at home mostly throughout the week, and I’ve been wanting to get out a couple of times, and this would be the perfect opportunity to take care of your dogs in walking, or dropping by to play! I live in an apartment complex, so I would have to go to where you are to walk/play with your dog, or I could take them to a dog park!

“Courtney and Lily were wonderful hosts for Tuley and were even able to accommodate our last minute request. I can’t say enough great things about Courtney - she’s kind, caring and treats my dog as if she were her own. She’s also flexible so pick up and drop offs are super easy. I can’t recommend her enough. And I say that as someone with a dog that can be reserved around new people and dogs. While Tuley has met Courtney before and absolutely loves her, this was her first time meeting Lily. Tuley was a bit unsure of Lily’s puppy energy at first, but Tuley warmed up to Lily pretty quickly. I know they had a blast at the dog park and playing all weekend long, because Tuley fell asleep as soon as we got home. I’ll definitely be sending Tuley to Courtney’s next time we travel.”

“I needed a cat sitter on short notice and found Alice. I never used Rover before so it was a bit daunting to ask someone I never met to take care of our cat Pinky. However I sensed I could trust Alice 100% from the moment I spoke to her. She is very friendly, helpful and professional. She owns cats herself so she knew exactly what was needed. She provided picture and detailed updates while we were away. Pinky absolutely adored Alice and I didn’t worry about Pinky while I was away. I knew she was in great hands. I highly recommend Alice and would definitely book her again!”

About: I will be happy to take care of your dog/dogs. My family and me have a lot of experience in doing so since we have our own dog, and often do dog sitting for our friends. I am studying online, and my parents work online full time. We have a lot of time and desire to make your dog’s stay with us comfortable. We are available at any time. I live in a big house with my family. We have a fenced backyard. We also have a super friendly Shetland Sheepdog, who will keep your fur baby company. We also live close to a huge park.
About: I’ve been fostering cats and dogs with humane rescue society for over six years. These fosters are long commitments until they are adopted. Love and attention are most important for our fluffy friends! We are WFH and work schedule is very flexible. We have plenty of time at home, offer 3-4 long walks (at least half an hour each) per day. We walk them upon dropping off and prior to picking up to make it easier and more convenient to you. We also take them to a nearby tennis court to play fetch and adjust walking based on the dog’s energy level. We set a maximum number of dogs we can host one time depending on the size, age of the dogs and how much we know about them. We may also lower the price for a less energetic or smaller dog. We have two loving cats who can be separated in a room if needed. We will spend quality time with your pets to keep them active and healthy. We will be providing food and water according to their needs and schedule, ensuring their sleeping environment is safe and cozy.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Potomac
Ashley was an absolute gem! She was completely reliable; we never had to wonder if she’d show up or follow through. The adorable photos she sent at every visit became the little highlight of our day we’d find ourselves looking forward to. The biggest sign she was doing something right? Our cat normally wolfs down her food out of anxiety or boredom when we travel — with Ashley, she ate totally calmly and looked happy in the photos. That said it all. We’re so grateful for the peace of mind and will 100% be rebooking her. Highly recommend!

One of the best pet sitters I have had. I have an older cat with medical problems. My 2nd cat can be aggressive with strangers especially when giving my older cat meds. She had the least problems of any pet sitter and was great with handling both. She is reliable and competent. Just did an amazing job.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Potomac. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
