“I was very, very happy with the care given to my dog by Sasha. The check-in/check-out process was very easy. Sasha sent several pictures throughout the day, along with messages to let me know how my dog was doing. I could tell that my dog really enjoyed herself at Sasha's as she was still in high spirit when I picked her up. My dog also went to bed a little earlier than usual, which told me that she was pretty active during her stay. I plan on using Sasha again in the very near future, and highly recommend her services!”

“Yi is the best! My dog absolutely loves going there and always comes back so happy and exhausted from playing all day. She sends so many great pictures of them throughout the day.”

“For Pip, it was love at first sight. He immediately connected to Lina. This was our ‘get to know you’ session in advance of our big summer vacation. Even as a one day visit, Lina shared a detailed write-up and photos of Willow and Pip playing, having outdoor time and being cared for. It has put my mind at ease knowing that our pups will be well cared for during our trip.”

About: Family love!! We now own a Bugg (boston terrier/pug mix) named Moxie who is 4 and previously owned a rescue pug named Rosie who lived to be 15. We have a single family home and large fully fenced in yard and love pet sitting all our neighbors' pets! We also have three boys (ages 5, 9, 12) who are comfortable around pets and love to play with them. My husband and I both telework so someone is home every day of the week. Either my husband or I am home every day. We typically walk our Bugg, Moxie, 3 times a day and also have a large fully fenced yard for her to play. Our current dog, Moxie, is free to roam our house all day and she sleeps in our son's room at night in her doggie bed. We don't mind dogs on our furniture or in any room, but can also provide separation or crating if desired.
“Loreen was really patient with Milo, who is a bit skittish around strangers. She took the time to get him acquainted with her house, yards and kids. She and the kids genuinely love Milo and she sent great pictures of his stay at her house. I’ll definitely use her again!”

“My dog Nala loves Gracie! She’s usually picky about who she warms up to but she loved Gracie immediately. Gracie sent lots of updates and is super communicative. Glad to have found a great sitter for my pup and look forward to booking with Gracie again :)”

“I worked with Huan for doggy day care while I was away for the day. She was very kind from the start and very responsive to messages and communication. I really appreciate how welcoming she was to both myself and my dog. She ensured that I was comfortable with leaving my dog with her, and made sure to understand any needs for my pup and any concerns I might have had. Was a great experience and I will definitely be reaching out again the next time I need a sitter!”

“Shanilka was super responsive and understanding of my dog's needs!! She was very kind and prompt with pick up and drop off so I didn't have to wait long in the cold. Highly recommend!!”

About: I’m a reliable and attentive dog sitter who takes the time to understand each dog’s specific needs and routine. I have experience caring for both puppies and senior dogs, so I’m comfortable adjusting my approach depending on their age, energy level, and behavior. With puppies, I focus on reinforcing good habits like basic commands, potty training routines, and appropriate play. I stay consistent with whatever training style the owner prefers to help support their progress. I also have experience with senior care, including giving medications, monitoring mobility, and making sure older dogs stay comfortable and don’t overexert themselves. I pay close attention to any changes in behavior and keep owners updated. I’m patient, observant, and make sure every dog feels safe, cared for, and well looked after. I am a college student at Penn State University and am back for summer, so I’m free everyday and am flexible with timing to fit your needs. I follow each pet’s normal routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. In a client’s home, I stick to their feeding, walking, and care instructions while making sure the pet gets plenty of attention and exercise.
“Shoham was so so SO accommodating & willing to see if daycare with her would work with my sweet boy who has a some separation anxiety in new spaces. Even though it ultimately didn’t work out on my pups end, he had a blast playing in her beautiful fenced backyard & with all of her pups! I’ll absolutely work on crate training him & hope to see her again in the future when I do”

About: Hi I'm a puppy lover, and I work from home. We are surrounded by many parks and would love to take your dog out to play. We have both grown up with dogs and would love to have our own one day but currently we travel abroad for a month every year which makes owning a dog a challenge. I would love to look after your puppy as my own! Why I love dog sitting We have always had dogs in our family. Since we travel internationally for over a month period almost every year, it is difficult for us to own one currently and therefore through Rover, we are able to get our puppy fix. About my yard We do have a huge yard My experience administering medication We are comfortable administering oral medication. My husband and I work from home and our parents are young, retired and live with us so we have 4 adults to help as needed. We only offer dog sitting in our home. Ofcourse we will feed them, walk them, pick up after them and offer unconditional cuddles if they allow us :)
About: I have over 20 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments. Over the past 7 years, I’ve also volunteered with rescue organizations, fostering puppies as young as 1–2 weeks old. This has involved full-time care- feeding, socialization, basic training, and monitoring their health - until they are ready for their forever homes. Because I’ve cared for so many dogs at different stages of life, I’m very attentive to routines, diet needs, medical instructions, and behavior changes. I’m calm, patient, and confident handling shy, energetic, or anxious dogs, and I make sure each pet feels secure and comfortable from the moment they arrive. Safety and communication are extremely important to me. I follow owners’ instructions closely, maintain a clean and structured environment, and provide regular updates so you always know how your dog is doing. Whether it's a puppy, an adult dog, or a senior with special needs, I’m committed to giving every animal the same level of care and consistency I give my own. My wife (a full-time homemaker) and I ensure that your furry family member is never left alone while staying with us. One of us is always home, providing constant supervision, comfort, and companionship throughout their visit. Your dog will enjoy a fully fenced, secure play area and 2–3 walks per day. We live on 2 acres of land with plenty of open space for safe exploration and exercise, along with an 11,000 sq. ft. home that provides ample room for your pet to relax and feel comfortable.

About: I’ve cared for many of my own dogs & dogs of friends, gf’s, etc. since the late 1980s. I’m a long time dog owner and dog lover, who is also a professional and former small business owner - who is mature, responsible, and serious. On the professional side, I have a combination of organizational/business management and basic sales/marketing & customer service training. I own a single family home with a large yard. My “main job” is in tech and I work from home nearly every day. I’m minutes away from a large park as well. The pets (and people) under my care receive a lot of loving attention in a safe, higher end neighborhood. I have a fenced yard backing up to a very serene, wooded/natural setting with tons of trees. If needed, my home has specific crates/cages and multiple rooms, depending on what the circumstances require. However, usually most pets are allowed to roam freely throughout most of the house and yard, as long as they do not conflict with or disrupt others.
About: I’ve taken care of pets for more than 10 years, specially family pets, friends and neighbors so I really enjoy this “job” cause more than a job is a hobbie for me, I love animals. I work from home, so I can take care of dogs the whole day, I usually like to walk with them 3 times but in summer I prefer 2 times. I have a backyard and also in front of my building I have a really huge park also I have more parks and green places close so We can ride around the area and with cats if they like to walk I’ll be my pleasure walk with the kitties.
About: My interest in dogs started 5 years when I became a dog musher in the winters! Then I signed up as a weekly volunteer with my local dog shelter. And I take the shelter dogs on fun field trips (hikes, parks, canoeing on the potomac- you name it)! I don't have pets of my own so my time is dedicated fully to other people's dogs and cats. I also work part time from home and have a very flexible schedule. I will make sure I understand you and your dog's needs, and work together as a team and your dog has a super fun adventure and time will fly!
“Rong took wonderful care of my dog and made me feel completely at ease. She sent me regular photo updates, which I really appreciated. I’m so grateful for the loving and attentive care—highly recommend!”

“Mocha is a regular client of LaurieBeth's since we adopted her a few months ago. Mocha is always so excited to spend the day with her and gets lots of affection and exercise. I am also super appreciative of LaurieBeth because Mocha is working on her obedience training and LaurieBeth didn't hesitate to help us reinforce the behaviors. So grateful!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Potomac
Lina was very sweet and took a little time to chat with me before I left our pup with her. She shared helpful photos and updates. We were having our pup stay for a partial day and it went well so we decided to have April stay at Lina’s while we were in vacation. Thank you Lina and family!

Shoham was so so SO accommodating & willing to see if daycare with her would work with my sweet boy who has a some separation anxiety in new spaces. Even though it ultimately didn’t work out on my pups end, he had a blast playing in her beautiful fenced backyard & with all of her pups! Mr.Buttons returned to Yi's place after a long break & had the most amazing, fun day. He enjoyed playing with his friends there & we love the fact that the other dogs are similar in size, so there is no issue with safety even if they play rough. Can't recommend Yi enough & will definitely be back soon.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
