About: I’ve cared for many of my own dogs & dogs of friends, gf’s, etc. since the late 1980s. I’m a long time dog owner and dog lover, who is also a professional and former small business owner - who is mature, responsible, and serious. On the professional side, I have a combination of organizational/business management and basic sales/marketing & customer service training. I own a single family home with a large yard. My “main job” is in tech and I work from home nearly every day. I’m minutes away from a large park as well. The pets (and people) under my care receive a lot of loving attention in a safe, higher end neighborhood. I have a fenced yard backing up to a very serene, wooded/natural setting with tons of trees. If needed, my home has specific crates/cages and multiple rooms, depending on what the circumstances require. However, usually most pets are allowed to roam freely throughout most of the house and yard, as long as they do not conflict with or disrupt others.
“Grayson is a big puppy who doesn’t know when to stop playing. He had the BEST time at Sasha’s house!! I know this because pictures were sent throughout the day, and when he got home at the end of the day he was totally exhausted!! There were lots of big dogs for him to play with, too. We will definitely return.”

“Shanilka was super responsive and understanding of my dog's needs!! She was very kind and prompt with pick up and drop off so I didn't have to wait long in the cold. Highly recommend!!”

“Diana is a kind soul and an amazing host for my puppy. She’s been very helpful with potty training and always makes sure everything feels safe and comfortable. Her adorable dog, Charlie, is super chill and friendly, which makes the environment even better. Diana is flexible, responsive, and you can feel her genuine passion for caring for animals. We’re already asking her to set up regular visits because we trust her completely. I couldn’t recommend her more!”

“Elena was really great with my dog! I’ve used her a few times now and my dog is super excited to be there and comes back to me super happy having had a great day with Elena!”

About: I’ve taken care of pets for more than 10 years, specially family pets, friends and neighbors so I really enjoy this “job” cause more than a job is a hobbie for me, I love animals. I work from home, so I can take care of dogs the whole day, I usually like to walk with them 3 times but in summer I prefer 2 times. I have a backyard and also in front of my building I have a really huge park also I have more parks and green places close so We can ride around the area and with cats if they like to walk I’ll be my pleasure walk with the kitties.

About: Hi, I’m Tiffany! I’m a lifelong dog lover with over 5 years of experience caring for small to medium sized dogs. As a proud dog mom to six dogs (one of whom now lives with me in the DC area!), I understand that pets are family and deserve the same love, patience, and attention we give our own. Whether your pup needs a fun walk, overnight care, or someone to keep them company while you’re away, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I tailor my care to each dog’s personality and routine, whether they’re energetic and playful or prefer a slower pace and extra cuddles. I know how important peace of mind is when you’re away from your pet, so I’ll keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages throughout their stay or walk. My goal is to make the experience as stress free as possible for the both of you! I can’t wait to meet you and your pup and provide them with the same care and affection I’d want for my own dogs! I work fully remote, Monday through Friday therefore I am able walk dogs within a specific radius and I am able to dog sit daily and overnight as well. I live in an apartment. I have a secured lock to keep your fur baby safe at all times and I have one Morkie who is super friendly and ready to meet new friends!
“Natalia was a wonderful daycare mom for our pup. She made my pup feel safe and took him on great walks! She was also very accommodating of my schedule. I highly recommend her. We will definitely return to her in the future.”

“Shuli is very professional and organized. Our dog Milo was fed timely and given multiple walks through our the day. We received videos and pictures from his walks and around the house. This was our first visit and we will continue to ask Shuli to take care of him. Thank you!”

About: I treat every pet as if they were my own. As a previous dedicated dog owner ourselves (we recently lost our German shepherd) I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family member. Your pet won’t just receive food, water, and walks, they’ll get attention, affection, playtime, and a comfortable home environment where they can feel safe and loved. I know how much peace of mind matters when you’re away, so I provide regular updates, photos, and clear communication throughout your pet’s stay. My goal is simple: for your pet to have such a great time that they’re excited to come back for their next visit. I currently work from home full time and my husband and I are also generally home during the weekends as well! We have a ton of time to Pets in our home are treated like family. We follow their normal routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks (as energy permits), playtime, medications, and any other special instructions. Whether your pet loves playing, exploring, or curling up for a nap, we make sure they receive the care and companionship they need while you’re away.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Lone Oak
We had a wonderful experience with Sasha. From her updates I could tell Teddy was truly enjoying his time away from home and felt like part of the family. She took such great care of him and it was clear he was loved and spoiled during his stay. She even sent Teddy home with so many toys, which was such a thoughtful surprise! We’re so grateful for the care she gave him and would absolutely trust her with Teddy again.

Aly & Greg were really amazing. They took good care of our puppy. They were even very flexible and it allowed us the opportunity to attend to other commitments. They were very attentive to detail. Their small gestures went a long way with us. We will continue to book with them when we are visiting our family. We highly recommend them. Thank you again guys! Rio clearly had a great time!💙

I needed a last minute sitter for my 3month puppy and Nurit was super fast at responding! I had a lot of anxiety leaving such a young puppy with someone but Nurit was amazing! She took my puppy on a long walk and even did some command work with him. I will definitely be reaching back out whenever I am in need of a dog sitter!

Chuy seemed to have a wonderful time at his evening with Oyindamola! When I picked him up he looked so happy and said goodbye to her at least 3 times. 😊 She was very kind and helped him feel comfortable when he was a little nervous at first. I highly recommend!

I have a Malinois Mix, so he is very high every not every Rover sitter has the skills to take good care of him. So, it really means a lot to me when someone seems to genuinely enjoy taking care of him, and really makes an effort to be active with him. Moises always goes above and beyond to care for my dog. He takes such good care of Sisko, and I can tell Sisko had a lot of fun with Moises + loves him. I couldn't recommend Moises more, and thanks so much!

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
