“Marissa was super attentive and responsive to Valerie's needs (springer spaniel puppy). My husband commented that she was confident and in charge, but super nice and connected with our pup right away. Marissa was very responsive -- I had to book sort of last minute, and she responded right away and took on three walks. She was easy to converse with/contact through the Rover platform.”

About: Hi! I’m Juliana, a lifelong dog lover and proud mom to Panela, a sweet Yorkie mix, and Milo, my spirited little Chihuahua. Having two very different personalities at home has taught me how to read each dog’s individual needs, energy level, and quirks, whether that’s a high-energy walker who needs to burn off steam or a smaller, more anxious pup who just wants gentle reassurance. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and overnight boarding right here in the DC area. Because I get around mostly on foot and by bike, I know my neighborhood inside and out, including the best walking routes, quiet streets, and nearby parks, which means your dog gets a real outing, not just a quick lap around the block. During boarding stays, your pup will have a calm, attentive home environment and become part of the routine Panela and Milo already know and love. I send photo and video updates during every visit so you always know your dog is safe, happy, and having a good time. I’d love to set up a meet-and-greet so we can make sure it’s a great match before booking! “I work from home, so pet care fits naturally into my day rather than being squeezed in around a 9-to-5. For walks and drop-in visits, I’m able to check in for feeding times, potty breaks, and play sessions throughout the day, with flexibility for visits if your schedule needs it. For boarding stays, your dog becomes part of my daily routine, joining me for walks, meals, and downtime at home with Panela and Milo, so they get consistent care and company around the clock rather than being left alone for long stretches. My two dogs, Panela (a Yorkie mix) and Milo (a Chihuahua), are both friendly and well socialized, so your dog will have some good company during their stay. My home is set up to be safe and comfortable for small to medium breeds, with secure spaces for rest and play. I keep a close eye on new dogs at first to make sure everyone settles in well together, and I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine for feeding, walks, and bedtime.
“Kevin is fantastic! He walks our dog a few times a week and our dog is loving it. Kevin is reliable, friendly, and leaves the best walk reviews for us! We really enjoy having Kevin as our dog walker.”

“Excellent walker. We could not be happier! Communicative and takes great photos. Always on time. Our dog can be a little shy with strangers and she was very patient with him. Would book again.”

“We met Nicole for the first time. She's a wonderful young woman, full of positive energy and joy. Our dog Sasha immediately liked and trusted her. It's clear that Nicole has a huge heart for animals. We offered Nicole a full-year schedule right away. ~ Tom”

About: I grew up on a farm in Baltimore County, so you could say I'm comfortable around many different kinds of animals. We always had dogs and cats growing up. Last year, my sweet 14-year-old Maltese passed away and I have been missing dog (and cat) interaction since. She needed bi-weekly allergy shots, which I administered. That being said, I am experienced in elderly animal care and know how to administer medicine (shots as well as oral medicine). I live in a house with a fenced in yard and I live a short distance from a dog-friendly park. I am a stay at home mom, so I available most times of the day (except during school drop off and pick up). At the moment, I only accept one dog for dog boarding at a time. *Drop off and pick up times are between 8 am and 10 pm. I also offer pet pick up and drop off for $5 each if you are unavailable between those times.* I am available weekdays from 9-3 to help with your fur baby. Please let me know what I can do to help your pup or cat! I have a fenced in yard for your pup to play in freely. I also have a cavalier puppy of my own that would love to play!
About: I love dogs, cats and other fur-babies that enrich our lives with so much joy and love! I am an educator and mother of three college-aged kids, one labradoodle, and have experience caring for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and other fur-babies. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to take on pet sitting and house-sitting during weekdays, evenings and weekends. I am available on some holidays. I do this because I love animals and the cash flow helps pay for college for my kids. I am available for care in your home where your fur-baby is most comfortable! Establishing good trust for loving care and safety is my priority.
About: Hi! I’m Lorena, a reliable and caregiver who truly enjoys taking care of animals 🐾 I have several years of hands-on caregiving experience, and I also cared for a reactive dog for over 4 years. Through that experience, I became very comfortable reading dog behavior, managing different temperaments, and using basic training techniques to create a calm and safe environment. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, especially if they have specific needs, so I always prioritize patience, safety, and consistency. I’m happy to follow routines, reinforce training, and adapt to what works best for your pet. Whether it’s walks, drop-in visits, or spending quality time with your pet, I’ll treat them with the same level of care and attention I would expect for my own. I’m dependable, responsive, and committed to giving you peace of mind while you’re away. I’m also happy to provide updates and photos during each visit so you always know how your pet is doing! I work from home, so I’m able to give pets consistent attention and supervision throughout the day. This means your dog will have company, care, and a calm environment while you’re away. I live in a secure apartment building, which provides a safe and controlled environment for pets in my care. I’m mindful about safety at all times and make sure pets feel comfortable, relaxed, and well looked.
“Denisse has been fantastic with our older dog! Very responsive and super accommodating. Our 50lb dog needs to be carried up/down the stairs and she handles that without issue and provides plenty of pictures, updates, and even gives our dog cookies.”
“Amazing help when we needed a dog walker on short notice - our dog loved her, and she was extremely punctual and reliable. Will definitely use her again in the future!!”

About: If your dog doesn't get along with other dogs, we're the perfect sitter for you! We limit our bookings to one so your dog will have our full attention. The only exception is if the dogs are from the same family, otherwise, we don't risk any of our guests hurting one another. We love animals but we don't have pets of our own - this is our way of getting our dog-fix! We have a large, fully fenced in backyard, that's private for our guests to enjoy. We have several parks in the neighborhood only a 3 minute walk away and we love going on walks/runs. And just in case, we have a reliable car and the animal hospital is only a 7 minute drive from the house. We hope you enjoy your vacation and can't wait to help take care of your dog! We work from home 3 days a week. We also only take one booking at a time so your pet will have our full attention. Whether it's feeding, cleaning, or administering medication - pets get our full attention because we only take one pet at a time unless they're from the same family. We don't have pets of our own and make sure all guests have a safe environment to relax.
“Oyindamola was so sweet and caring to my Cali! She sent me so many videos and kept me updated on all the activities they did! Really happy with her and would 100% book her again! Thank you for the love and dedication ❤️”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life and have always loved being around them! I have three dogs and a cat of my own, all with different personalities; from happy-go-lucky to a little shy. I love walks, exploring new (and old) places, and playtime with pups. I treat every dog like family, so your furry friend will get all the love, attention, and care they deserve while with me! I work from home on Tuesdays and Fridays, and I’m usually home by 5:30 the rest of the weekdays. I’m available most weekends, so please reach out! I follow each pet’s routine closely to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I’m experienced caring for multiple pets at once and dogs of all sizes, including large breeds.

Evelyn responded promptly to my request for a dog walk and she came over and met my dog and I within 48 hours. I have a rescue dog with anxiety when it comes to new people. Evelyn was so sweet and patient with her. I even had a last minute change up where I had to add another dog that Evelyn had not met (friend having a baby), and she was accommodating and happy to help. 100% recommend Evelyn!

Jana was amazing! She was very patient and understanding, even when we forgot to leave the key for her to access Bella (completely our fault!). We really appreciated her flexibility and kindness. Bella was happy, got plenty of treats, and was clearly well cared for. We would definitely book Jana again. Thank you!

Cannot possibly overstate how wonderful Bianca was to us and Kona. We had to adjust days and times twice and she adjusted in the app and was extremely malleable, assertive and professional about everything. We added extra walks before leaving town and she was able to accommodate. We never waited on a response, she was always present when we needed to communicate. Bianca exudes trust, efficiency and professionalism - an extremely kind, gentle but assertive presence. Kona is pretty big/strong and sometimes difficult, reactive to other dogs and we were very anxious using rover walking services for the very first time - she provided the ease of mind we so desperately needed. Incredibly detailed feedback and tracking of every single walk, pee, etc… multiple pictures. Whenever we leave town and need help with Kona, we will be crossing our fingers that Bianca is available.

We’ve had such a great experience with Oyindamola! She walked our dog today and was able to accommodate us on very short notice, which we really appreciated. She’s been reliable, kind, and easy to work with, and our dog seems very happy after each walk. We’re grateful to have found her and are looking forward to booking many more walks in the future!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
