“We met Nicole for the first time. She's a wonderful young woman, full of positive energy and joy. Our dog Sasha immediately liked and trusted her. It's clear that Nicole has a huge heart for animals. We offered Nicole a full-year schedule right away. ~ Tom”

“Cheryl is responsive and communicative. She let me know a month in advance for a few days she would be unavailable. Ajax also loves going on walks with Cheryl! Cheryl gets Ajax lots of exercise which is great!”

“Kevin was fantastic with his communication and punctuality. I felt great coming home knowing that our pup Lucy was well taken care of! He even went above and beyond and took her for a much longer walk than anticipated!”

“Whitney is an excellent walker! Sully was immediately excited and eager to meet her and was clearly very happy after the walk. I’ve already booked a second walk with Whitney!”

About: i've been around dogs and cats my entire life — we're talking 20+ years of walks, belly rubs, and figuring out which cat wants attention and which one wants to be left alone. I'm the person friends and neighbors call when they go out of town because they know their pets are in good hands. I keep things simple: stick to your pet's routine, keep them active and happy, and send you updates so you're not worrying. Big dogs, tiny dogs, bossy cats — I'm good with all of them. I currently work from home and will have plenty of time to take care of your pet. Your pet will always be in good hands when they are being watched by me :) I'm in a condo so it's nice and chill — no crazy noise, just a cozy spot where your pet can relax and hang out with me. Great for dogs and cats who like a mellow vibe. There's good walking areas nearby so your dog won't be cooped up all day. And if I'm coming to your place, I'll keep everything buttoned up and stick to whatever routine you've got going

About: I grew up on a farm in Baltimore County, so you could say I'm comfortable around many different kinds of animals. We always had dogs and cats growing up. Last year, my sweet 14-year-old Maltese passed away and I have been missing dog (and cat) interaction since. She needed bi-weekly allergy shots, which I administered. That being said, I am experienced in elderly animal care and know how to administer medicine (shots as well as oral medicine). I live in a house with a fenced in yard and I live a short distance from a dog-friendly park. I am a stay at home mom, so I available most times of the day (except during school drop off and pick up). At the moment, I only accept one dog for dog boarding at a time. *Drop off and pick up times are between 8 am and 10 pm. I also offer pet pick up and drop off for $5 each if you are unavailable between those times.* I am available weekdays from 9-3 to help with your fur baby. Please let me know what I can do to help your pup or cat! I have a fenced in yard for your pup to play in freely. I also have a cavalier puppy of my own that would love to play!
“Excellent walker. We could not be happier! Communicative and takes great photos. Always on time. Our dog can be a little shy with strangers and she was very patient with him. Would book again.”

About: I have my own dog & she is the love of my life! Ever since adopting her, I found a passion and deep love for animals! I used to volunteer with CDCK located in DC. Animals have become my passion and I love all animals like they’re my own ❤️ I live with my partner who is more than happy to help take care of your fur baby as well! I work remote so I will have tons of time to care for your pet. My apartment also has a dog park so it has easy and fast access outside. I have my own dog that I’ve had nearly 6 years now. I will treat your dogs like they are my own! I have done extensive research on caring for dogs and have implemented various different things with my dog to improve her quality of life best I can. Whether that’s feeding your dog healthy organic treats or finding different ways to mentally stimulate them! Not only will I take them on walks but I’ll be glad to play some friendly tug of war with them :)
“Elliot just started walking Buddy and I can’t say enough nice things. Elliot is very responsible, shares information about their time together and Buddy liked Elliot from the jump!”

About: I have been a dog owner my entire life and have extensive experience caring for a wide variety of breeds, including German Shepherds, Boxers, Border Collies, Golden Retrievers, and currently a Labrador Retriever. This experience has given me a strong understanding of different temperaments, energy levels, and training needs. I am comfortable handling both large and active dogs, and I am committed to providing safe, reliable, and attentive care for every dog as if they were my own. As an educator with Montgomery County Public Schools, I have a structured schedule that allows me to provide dependable pet care. During the school year, I am available for dog walks and visits between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM on weekdays, as well as after work beginning at 3:30 PM. I am also available on weekends. Beginning June 18, I will have open availability and be available seven days a week for walks, drop-in visits, daycare, overnight stays, and last-minute requests. Caring for dogs has been a part of my daily life for many years, and I enjoy providing dogs with the exercise, attention, and companionship they need to be happy and healthy. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always follow the owner’s instructions to ensure their routine remains consistent and comfortable. For dog walking, I provide safe, attentive walks tailored to each dog’s age, energy level, and needs. Whether your dog enjoys a brisk walk for exercise or a slower-paced stroll, I make sure they get plenty of activity, attention, and care. For drop-in visits, I can provide fresh water, feeding, potty breaks, playtime, companionship, and any other care requested by the owner. I understand how important it is for pets to feel comfortable and cared for when their family is away. For doggy daycare, I provide a safe, supervised environment with plenty of attention, exercise, play, and opportunities to relax. My goal is to make sure every dog feels secure, happy, and well cared for throughout the day. Having owned dogs my entire life, including German Shepherds, Boxers, Border Collies, Golden Retrievers, and a Labrador Retriever, I am comfortable caring for dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels.
About: Hi! I’m Juliana, a lifelong dog lover and proud mom to Panela, a sweet Yorkie mix, and Milo, my spirited little Chihuahua. Having two very different personalities at home has taught me how to read each dog’s individual needs, energy level, and quirks, whether that’s a high-energy walker who needs to burn off steam or a smaller, more anxious pup who just wants gentle reassurance. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and overnight boarding right here in the DC area. Because I get around mostly on foot and by bike, I know my neighborhood inside and out, including the best walking routes, quiet streets, and nearby parks, which means your dog gets a real outing, not just a quick lap around the block. During boarding stays, your pup will have a calm, attentive home environment and become part of the routine Panela and Milo already know and love. I send photo and video updates during every visit so you always know your dog is safe, happy, and having a good time. I’d love to set up a meet-and-greet so we can make sure it’s a great match before booking! “I work from home, so pet care fits naturally into my day rather than being squeezed in around a 9-to-5. For walks and drop-in visits, I’m able to check in for feeding times, potty breaks, and play sessions throughout the day, with flexibility for visits if your schedule needs it. For boarding stays, your dog becomes part of my daily routine, joining me for walks, meals, and downtime at home with Panela and Milo, so they get consistent care and company around the clock rather than being left alone for long stretches. My two dogs, Panela (a Yorkie mix) and Milo (a Chihuahua), are both friendly and well socialized, so your dog will have some good company during their stay. My home is set up to be safe and comfortable for small to medium breeds, with secure spaces for rest and play. I keep a close eye on new dogs at first to make sure everyone settles in well together, and I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine for feeding, walks, and bedtime.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Huntington Terrace
Michael was fantastic. We had to work through a couple hiccups at the beginning of the week and Michael was super easy going and accommodating. He took Luna for a weeks worth of great walks around the neighborhood while our house was a little short staffed - we will 100% reach out to book him again!

Justin was wonderful! He sent check-in each time he walked and fed our dog Juni, and he clearly enjoyed spending time with her. We were happy to know he’s walked a few of our neighbors’ dogs too, so he was very comfortable with the neighborhood. I will definitely be hiring him again!

Daria is a wonderful walker. Whatever the weather brings, rain, shine, or heat, she shows up with energy and genuine love for our Rosie. Her narratives about the walks anre excellent and very entertaining. I have great confidence in Daria and recommend her highly.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
