About: I’ve enjoying watching after my brother’s cat, Mel, while he is at work and visiting my neighbor’s dog, Princess, to give hugs and keep her company from time to time! I’m excited to take on new clients for dog walking through Rover! I currently work full-time, so weeknights between 5-8pm and weekends during the daytime will work best for me for pet care and dog walking. I will generally be available from 10am to 7pm on Saturdays and Sundays. I am happy to care for your pet as needed! I live in a pet-friendly apartment and if you prefer I visit your home, I can stop by to feed and spend time with your dog/cat. At this time, I will not be able to stay in client’s homes overnight.
“Daria is the perfect caretaker. After each walk, we received photos and a message about how it went :) We are certain that the next time we need care for Lolek, we will definitely reach out to Daria again. We recommend her 100%. Thank you, Daria - Lolek, Monika, and Adam.”

“Elliot just started walking Buddy and I can’t say enough nice things. Elliot is very responsible, shares information about their time together and Buddy liked Elliot from the jump!”

About: For years, my son had a Rover account and we hosted dogs at our house and walked dogs in the neighborhood, and of course took care of our own dog (Hunter) who is 15 yo now ... Now the kids are grown and launched and I'm ready to get for nice brisk neighborhood walks with folks' dogs (one at a time ;-) I'm a recently retired attorney (55 yo) who loves dogs and loves getting out and about for walks! I generally have mid-day time to get out for a walk or two in the Chevy Chase or Silver Spring area. I am only walking dogs for now (not hosting), but have a nice 15 yo dog at home and have walked and cared for many dogs when my (now grown) son had an account.

About: Hello, fellow dog lovers! With over 20 years experience as a dog owner, I would be honored to take in your dog as part of our family! Nothing makes me happier than to see a happy, healthy dog! We would love to care for your furry family member and treat them as our own in your absence. We have a very large, securely-fenced back yard with room to roam, run, lounge and play while being loved, catered to and cared for by our family! We also offer 2-3 walks per day throughout our neighborhood (has sidewalks). I am home during the day with my children so your dogs are rarely left alone. **Please note: late pick-ups are accepted however, daycare fees may apply. Thank you for your consideration. I hope to meet you and your loved one! I am a stay-at-home mother of four children (in school) so I am able to provide lots of love, care and attention to your dogs! I have a fenced in, large yard with a very friendly dog to keep your fur baby company! I am also able to crate your dog if desired.
About: I’ve always loved dogs and grew up with a Rottweiler, so I’m comfortable with larger breeds and have plenty of experience caring for them. Many of my friends have big dogs, and I often enjoy taking them out for walks. During the warmer months, I can even take your pup on a short run to burn off some extra energy! With prior military service, I bring a high level of responsibility, reliability, and dedication to ensuring your dog gets the best care and attention during our time together. I can be free in the evenings starting at 6 pm on weekdays, or Wednesday mornings before 10:30am. My weekends are free and I can easily fit in a walk while you’re out living your best life. I give all animals lots of love, attention, and patience! I communicate well, and would love to share updates on how your dog is enjoying their walk, with a quick pic or two to capture the moment.
“Jonathan was great with our recently adopted dog that gave him a hard time. He was calm, patient and adapted to the situation as needed, communicating well along the way.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Martins Additions
Christopher took wonderful care of my dogs while I was away. He asked thoughtful questions upfront so I felt confident they were in good hands, and he sent regular updates that put my mind at ease. When one of my pups got unexpectedly sick, he handled it calmly, cleaned everything thoroughly, and left the space spotless. That kind of care and responsibility means so much. I’ll absolutely be booking with him again!

Michael was fantastic. We had to work through a couple hiccups at the beginning of the week and Michael was super easy going and accommodating. He took Luna for a weeks worth of great walks around the neighborhood while our house was a little short staffed - we will 100% reach out to book him again!

Meg is the best dog walker I’ve ever had. She provides excellent care, truly loves animals, is very professional, and writes very detailed notes. She anticipates my dogs needs and is always prepared to go above and beyond- like putting her cooling vest on, bringing her water bottle, and rewarding good behavior on walks. I am so sad to no longer have Meg as a walker as I am moving, she will be missed!!!

Judy was wonderful with our pup! She stepped in on short notice and was incredibly flexible and reliable. We especially appreciated how she adapted to our dog’s unique temperament and needs, making her feel comfortable and cared for while we were away. It’s clear she genuinely loves animals, and we wouldn’t hesitate to have her watch our girl again. Highly recommend!

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
