About: I’ve been dog walking/sitting for about 2-3 years now informally back in New York, just moved to the Bethesda area so I signed up for this app to be able to continue doing so. I have no formal training, but growing up on a farm I have a deep appreciation for animals! I’m currently unemployed, so I can take care of dogs during the day or in the evening. I feed my Millie at 5:30 am sharp, so I am available anytime after that. My Millie is quite picky, so I am very used to any unusual rules you may have for you animals. I am very protective and cautious with animals!
“Daria is so calm, so at ease with my quirky and stubborn old pup. I felt very confident leaving Poppy in her hands. Daria is also very communicative and was flexible with a last minute change in our arrangement. I really appreciate her excellent care.”

About: I’ve trained and taken care of dogs since I was 15(now 32). Have experience with puppy and senior as well as medical needs. Apollo is my 2.5 year old lab who is incredibly friendly to people and animals. Great walking partner! Please let me know if your dog is not good with other dogs. I currently work full time remotely. I’m mostly available on the weekends and week days after 4pm but can sneak out for lunch visits and walks. With experience and genuine care, I offer a safe, structured, and dependable environment where your pets can relax, play, and feel completely at home as well as a great play partner with Apollo.
“We met Nicole for the first time. She's a wonderful young woman, full of positive energy and joy. Our dog Sasha immediately liked and trusted her. It's clear that Nicole has a huge heart for animals. We offered Nicole a full-year schedule right away. ~ Tom”

About: I bring a lifetime of diverse animal experience to every pet I care for. I grew up with a rescue dog—and even a pet duck—which taught me early how to adapt to different personalities and needs. Today I share my home with Halo, my black rescue cat, and Grover, my rescue Yorkie, both of whom remind me daily how important patience and trust are. I also cared for Daisy, my special‑needs yellow lab, and understand the gentle routines senior pets require. And with Teddie, my Coton de Tulear from a prestigious lineage, I’m familiar with breed‑specific care and structured environments. Whether your pet is a rescue, a senior, a purebred, or a quirky little character, I meet them exactly where they are and make sure they feel safe, understood, and loved. As a writer who works from home, I have a naturally flexible schedule that allows me to give pets consistent attention throughout the day. My routine is calm, predictable, and easy to adjust around your pet’s needs—whether that means midday walks, morning check‑ins, or evening visits. Because I’m home most of the time, I’m able to provide steady, reliable care and keep your pet’s day running smoothly and stress‑free. I provide pet care exclusively through walks and drop‑in visits, which means your pet stays in the comfort and familiarity of their own home. During each visit, I follow your routines closely—feeding, fresh water, medication, enrichment, and any specific instructions you share. I keep a calm, reassuring presence, make sure doors are locked, and always double‑check your pet’s safety before leaving. My goal is to maintain your pet’s normal rhythm while giving them attentive, reliable care and keeping your home secure.

“Sharing an updated review, as Cynthia has been regularly walking our dog for a year+ Cynthia is extremely reliable and flexible when we need to add additional walks and takes the time to send pictures and notes after each walk! We are so grateful to have found her.”

“Larissa has been great so far with our puppy Moose. She has also been able to adapt very well to our changing schedule without ever having an issue. We appreciate how much she cares for Moose and look forward to continuing utilizing her services!”

About: Hi I’m Rainy! My family and I have two dogs Skip and Snow. Skip was 15 years old when she passed away and Snow is a 10-year-old gentle lady. Growing up with them has been the best thing ever for me as a child. I also dog sit for my friends and family since I was little. I enjoy being around them! I work as a full-time nurse, doing three 12-hour shift per week. My schedule depends on the staffing, working weekdays mostly with rotating weekends. But I do have 4 days off per week to be flexible. I adapt fast in different environments and can accommodate the needs of your dogs. I have experience in taking care of puppies and senior dogs, which I understand the difference in energy and needs.
“Alexa was great with our dog! She communicated so well and was able to navigate an access issue into our house. We definitely use her again and recommend her to other others!”

“We have had several dog walkers on Rover and Lena is simply the best! Totally reliable, very communicative and flexible, always right on time, and walks were longer than required. Hazel was delighted/ecstatic to see her when she came inside to get her one day. We are looking forward to her return next summer!”
About: I have grown up surrounded by pets my whole life, and have been lucky enough to have 5 dogs. Since I was little, I have helped to walk, feed, play with, and train my dogs. I currently have 2 senior dogs, Coco and Mara, and am one of their primary caretakers. Both were adopted off the street and I have had Coco since she was a puppy. I am so excited to get to know your lovely pets as well! I just graduated high school and am currently home for the summer, so my schedule is very flexible. I am available all day as well as on weekends, both for a quick walk/drop in, or a longer stay. Your pet's safety and happiness is always my top priority, so I do my best to accomodate all of their preferences including going specific places they like, giving them time to sniff, etc.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and grew up with family pets, so caring for them has always come naturally. Over the years, I’ve also pet sat for friends, providing dependable care, walks, playtime, and plenty of love while they’re away. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I always strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and happy. Whether it’s an energetic pup or a laid-back senior, I’ll treat your pet like they’re part of my own family. I’m currently waiting to start a new role, so I have a flexible schedule and am available for drop-in visits, walks, and pet sitting throughout the week. I enjoy staying active and love spending time with animals, so pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I’m currently available for visits only, not hosting pets in my home. I can provide drop-in visits, walks, feeding, playtime, litter box or potty breaks, and other routine care in your home.
About: Hi all! My name is Maren Dunn. I am a college graduate currently home for summer, and I wanted to advertise my services as a pet sitter. I have over 5 years of experience caring for dogs and cats, and would be happy to provide references from previous clients. I also am double vaxxed and boosted. Growing up I had an adorable dog named Leo and experience caring for cats as well. I am responsible, fun, outgoing, and I love all animals! Part of why I love caring for pets is the routine that it gives me. I loved waking up and greeting my dog. It always made my morning so much better. I would love to do the same with your pets! I am home with my parents this summer. We live in a house on a quiet street with a huge fenced in yard that my dog Leo absolutely loved. We are within short walking distance to two different dog parks that I am very familiar with. Your pup would spend lots of time outside!

Jennifer took care of our dog Iris while we were away. Iris was recovering from an injury and she was careful and sent feedback on her progress. In the middle of the trip I asked Jennifer to look after the many plants around the house (we were housesitting even more plants for our daughter). She helped us out with that too! (No small task for our mini jungle.)

We went on vacation for a week and were so happy to find Jonathan. He was very responsive and made sure our dog was well taken care of. He sent us photos and videos of her walks and the time he spent with her. This helped to assure us that she wasn’t lonely while we were gone. He was also extremely flexible and we were able to add on services at the last minute. Thanks so much! We would definitely book with Jonathan in the future.

Katherine was super communicative and took great pictures of our Dog Bella on her daily walks and left wonderfully detailed reports. It really put my mind at ease to get her walk alert and updates every day. She also met with us first for a meet and greet and asked a lot of wonderful questions, some I didn’t even think about.

Naomi did an excellent job with our three dogs walking them and giving them lots of attention. Looking forward to Naomi watching our dogs for a week straight on an upcoming visit and we feel very comfortable and know they are in good hands….our dogs really like Naomi.
Noah did a great job of walking my dog Koda. He was conscientious and sent pictures every time he walked him. There was one minor mishap but Noah responded immediately, took responsibility and remediated the situation in a very professional way. I will certainly use Noah again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
