“Katherine does an excellent job with Otto. He is a very spirited pup and doesn’t always have the best walking etiquette (we’re working on it!) and Katherine handles it beautifully. He always excited to see her and it’s clear he feels safe with her. Katherine is also punctual, dependable and personable.”

About: I grew up with 2 big dogs in my house and would dog sit for friends families. Now I dog sit for many of my coworkers who trust me not only in our day job but also with their best friend, their pet. I work from home four days a week and have the flexibility to step away from my computer when need be. We end on Fridays by 3 PM and Tuesday-Thursday I am available at lunch as well as after 4 PM. I will always make sure your dog is safely on leash and that I am in control. Unless specifically stated I will make sure that your dog does not get into unsafe situations whether with people or other dogs who are out when we are walking.
About: I used to be a manager at a dog shelter which I absolutely loved before moving to a new state. I’ve also grown up on a farm and handled all types of pets from goats, pigs, cows to dogs, cats, hamsters, and fish. I believe every animal deserves to be treated as family not just a pet. I am always home until 3pm when I leave for work, but when I am not home my partner is home. Someone will always be there to take care of your furry or scaly family and will never be left without someone even for a second. They will be welcomed with love, play, and kindness in my home. We will ensure nothing is around that will harm the animal whether it is cables, shoes, food, etc. we will always be around to ensure your pet is taken care of and in good health.
“Deava is great! She’s always very responsive and follows our requested walking/feeding schedule. We’ve even recommended her to some of our neighbors looking for a dog walker. She’s reliable, kind, and truly seems to care for our dog.”

“Victor was great! We needed a Rover at the last minute during the holiday season and he was available. He met up with us the same day to go over everything and communicated the entire time we were out of town. We came back to a very happy dog! We can’t thank him enough and will definitely try to book again if he’s available.”

“Sandi was able to step in for me in an emergency situation and I could not have been more grateful. It’s clear that Sandi is an experienced dog walker in the area and knows just where to take the dogs so they can play and have fun. Thank you Sandi!”

“Gio was an excellent dog walker. She helped me when my current dog walker could not continue walking buddy. She reported all the details of the visit efficiently and gave us peace of mind. She was informative and responsible. This was my first time using rover and I had a great experience thanks to Gio. She has a true love for dogs and what she does. I will definitely work with her in the future.”

About: I'm a lifelong dog lover and caretaker who has cared for dogs for family, friends, and neighbors my whole adult life (and much of my childhood). I grew up with dogs, and have helped care for puppies, senior dogs, dogs with baggage, and everything in between. Meeting new dogs is always a highlight when out and about in the city, and I'd love to meet and help care for yours! I work from home as a freelancer and contractor, so my schedule is very flexible! Your pet's care will be my top priority -- walks, potty breaks, whatever they need! I have a spacious apartment in DC with a comfortable couch, a rug to lay on, and pillows/beds available for your pup. There is a grassy area outside our apartment (not fenced), and a large park within easy walking distance nearby.
About: I’ve taken care of animals for 25 years now. Growing up I had a dog, five cats, and our house was known to feed the stray cats in the neighborhood. I’m a huge animal lover. I’ve been pet sitting clients for the past 4 years, and I absolutely love the work. Dogs and cats are so sensitive to change, so I love catering to their needs to make sure their time apart is free from stress. I do this by maintaining their routine, providing plenty playtime/exercise if they’re open and able, lots of pets and cuddles if they’re interested, and staying home as much as possible so they can have the security of a present and consistent caretaker (overnight care). I want the pets to feel like they’re on vacation too! As for the pet owners/stewards, I love to send plenty of pictures and videos, so they can feel at ease knowing their pets are cared for! I don’t have a lot of selfies/photos with the pets but under my photos you’ll see all the sweet pets I’ve cared for! Please let me know if you have any questions! I’m a part time actor— mostly theatre. I’m free during the daytime and normally have rehearsals in the evening. When there are evening rehearsals I walk dogs in the early evening 5 or 6 before leaving and walk them before bed, around 10:30.** **As of April 12th 2026 I’ll have full availability for dog/cat sitting and dog walking I prefer staying in a clients home so pets can stay in an environment they’re used to. I provide lots of cuddles for the pets that need it. If clients have carpeting, I’d like to know their preferred carpet cleaning methods (I.e. machine or hand scrub) in case of any accidents.
“Leo has been taking our dog on midday walks twice a week for the past few months. He is unfailingly reliable, communicative and responsive. He lets us know if he is going to be even a few minutes later than usual, even though our dog is low-maintenance and large-bladdered! Leo has given us lots of advance notice on the rare occasion when he was not available for a regular walk (e.g., at the holidays). And he's an all-around nice guy. It gives us great comfort to know that our Jake is getting such excellent care.”

“Jonathan was great with our recently adopted dog that gave him a hard time. He was calm, patient and adapted to the situation as needed, communicating well along the way.”

About: I provide dog walking, boarding, and sitter services during weekdays and/or weekends. I live in an apartment with a large unfenced front yard. However my neighborhood has 3-4 nearby, closed off dog parks nearby that I can take the pups to for socializing. I also have an 8 year old lab mix dog, we go on long walks 2-3 times a day (~30 minutes to 1-2 hours). Will play with dogs constantly to get out all of their energy. Preferably dogs that are crate trained. Will adapt to whatever kind of personality your pet has - accepting of all. Because I have a dog of my own, I am very keen on animal behavior - specifically, dog behavior - when walking dogs, I know when they will lunge at a car/dog/cat/squirrel before they lunge, I know when they are about to poop, I can tell when a dog is overexerted and tired, I can tell when a dog is feeling aggressive - all before they perform these actions. My fair share of dog parks has made it very easy for me to discern dog behavior. I will use these skills to best serve your furbaby. Im currently in a remote PhD program, so I have flexibility throughout the weekdays and weekends. Available for dog sitting, walking and boarding anytime on weekends and weekdays. I have an unfenced yard out front of my apartment and 2-3 dog parks in my neighborhood. I also have an 8-year old dog that is friendly with other dogs to keep yours company.
About: I've had a passion caring for animals since I was little. I've cared for neighbors dogs and as I get older I've participated in vet camps, volunteered and interned at animal shelters and clinics. I'm also in college majoring in animal science to eventually become a veterinarian! Pet care is already a consistent part of my daily routine so I’m comfortable fitting walks, feedings, playtime, and check-ins into my schedule. I plan my days carefully to make sure my guinea pig gets reliable attention, feed, and cuddle time. In my home, I keep my pets safe, comfortable, and on a consistent routine with food, water, cleaning, and attention. I care for my guinea pig daily, so I’m used to being responsible and attentive to pets needs. In clients homes, I follow their pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, and companionship.
“George had a great walk and extra time outdoors while I was out for a full day. Thomas responded to George’s needs as an older dog sensitive to hot weather. He loved getting out for fresh air and I got a lot of cute photos!”

About: Hi, I'm a lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals throughout my life. Growing up surrounded by pets taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, and understanding each animal's unique personality and needs. Today, I work in healthcare, where compassion, attentiveness, and trust are at the core of everything I do. My goal is to ensure every walk is safe, enjoyable, and beneficial for the dog's physical and mental well-being. I provide safe, attentive walks tailored to each dog's energy level and needs. I ensure they get exercise, mental stimulation, water when needed, and plenty of positive reinforcement during our time together

About: I grew up with two cats, a dog, and would walk dogs in the neighborhood I grew up. I’ve trained dogs to sit, stay, speak, and other basic skills. I can drop by any time as long as I have notice! External commitments are flexible. Weekends are when I am mostly available at this time. I believe in leaving things better than you found them, and I love taking care of all living beings. I show that same amount of care in others’ homes.

Michael was fantastic. We had to work through a couple hiccups at the beginning of the week and Michael was super easy going and accommodating. He took Luna for a weeks worth of great walks around the neighborhood while our house was a little short staffed - we will 100% reach out to book him again!

Amani provides excellent, dependable, and timely service. She communicates and schedules in advance, and always follows through. My dog knows her well and feels completely comfortable around her. If you’re looking for professionalism, reliability, and genuine kindness toward your pet, I highly recommend her services.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
