“Jonathan is very friendly and nice. He came to meet and see puppies before the actual book to get to know them. He’s well taken care of them and dogs are very happy. He did a big favor for us. I truly recommend him as dog sitter.”

About: During the Covid-19 pandemic, I pet sat and walked dogs full time providing care to puppies, elderly, and special needs pups. I have cared for many different dog breeds and am skilled at meeting their energy level and curating visits individualized to each pup! I have experience administering medications, and working with pups who are vision/hearing impaired. I am currently working a split schedule, so I have availability for visits early in the morning, midday, and evenings that I would love to fill with some animal bonding time! I just recently moved to the area, and miss my old pet care clients! So I would like to rebuild pet care back into my schedule! I will be diligent and follow instructions given by pet parents! I prefer to walk dogs on a harness as it is safer when walking, as it’s hard to break or slip out of.
“Katherine was so great and a pleasure to meet. She was prompt to our meet-n-greet, and super friendly with Leon. She did a great job communicating what she encountered during her first walk with Leon. I look forward to connecting with her again!”

“Juna continues to take fantastic care of my hound mix! My dog is always happy to see Juna, and I can tell from her consistent communication and her lovely walking/drop-in photos that my dog continues to enjoy Juna's care and company throughout each booking. Juna has proven to be capable and resourceful throughout all of her visits with my dog, and I'm confident she would be the same with yours, too!”

“Leo was super communicative, pro active, and sent lots of photos of our pup and cats while we were away for the weekend. It was our first time having Leo and he was super understanding of our rescue and reactive dog during the long walks. Thank you so much Leo!!”

“Giovanna was amazing!! Drako loved being visited by her, she was very communicative with us and made sure we got pictures and updates on a visit baisis! We felt so happy and comfortable that our dog was being taken care by her! Definitely would recommend her with anyone that needs his/her dog taking care of! We would definitely will be thinking of her if we need someone to take care of our dog! Thanks Giovanna!!”

About: Hi, I am Naty :) I’ve been working with dogs for over 12 years & I still love them more than humans! Your pup deserves to be loved and catered to while you are away, so no worries. I am here to be your pups bestie. That includes going on walks, playing in the park, having play dates, we may even watch a movie oh and of course tea time. There’s always gossip to share! My goal is to cater to your dog based on their needs and their lifestyle. I like to teach basic training skills to all the dogs I walk. Such as sit, wait & drop it. My goal is to make sure your pup is happy & worn out after our time together so they can be calm & relaxed when you get home. I have a very flexible schedule since I work from home. However, I have more availability in the evenings & on the weekends. I am also available to stay over if you travel out of town. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to host dogs at my house. But I am able to provide overnight care at your house for both cats & dogs.
“I’d give Sarah 10 stars if I could! She’s incredibly kind, conscientious, and generous. Most importantly, she made my anxious older cat feel more comfortable than I’ve seen him be with any other sitter. Highly recommend!”

“Drew did an excellent job caring for our corgi over Thanksgiving. We really appreciated his willingness to do a meet and greet in advance. He was polite, professional, friendly and communicative. All of our directions were followed to the letter and we came home to a tidy space and a happy dog :)”

About: I've cared for dogs throughout college as a part-time job, gaining experience with both dog walking and pet sitting. I've walked dogs multiple times a week for several families and understand the importance of providing consistent care, attention, and exercise. I love being outdoors, running, and staying active, so your dog will get plenty of exercise while having a fun and safe experience. I'm currently working remotely part-time, which gives me a lot of flexibility during the day. For those working 9-to-5 jobs, I'm available to walk, play with, and care for your pups while you're away! My top priority is making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. I take the time to learn each dog's routine, preferences, and any special instructions so I can provide consistent care. Whether I'm in your home or caring for your pet in mine, I'll ensure they have plenty of attention, exercise, fresh water, and a safe environment. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I treat every pet as if they were my own and strive to make their experience as stress-free and enjoyable as possible.
“Larquana was great with our 2 cats! She played with them and even our scaredy let her pet him. She was consistent with photos, updates, and general communication. Much appreciated!”

About: My passion is making sure pets are cared for to the utmost quality. My pet sitting journey started by walking my neighbors dogs when I was just 12 years old and continued dog walking/pet sitting for family members/friends/clients until graduating college. My pet sitting has grown over the years and I definitely have grown more in love with it. I have a lot of cat sitting experience as well and have always cared for my grandma’s cats when she needs the extra help. I’m currently only pet sitting part-time. I am available after 5pm Monday to Thursday and after 12pm on Fridays. I’m available all weekends. This can be variable as I will also have days off from work which will allow me to have more availability. I live in a spacious 700 sq ft studio by myself. I also don’t have any pets that live with me. I live in a very dog friendly community with a dog park and large fields of grass perfect for off-leash time. I do also have large windows perfect for bird watching for my meow-er companions :)
About: “Lifetime pet lover with experience caring for my own dog and my current cat. Excited to provide loving and reliable care for your furry friends!” “My schedule is flexible right now, so I’m available pretty much anytime to care for your pet! Morning, afternoon, or evening—I’ll be there whenever you need! I provide a safe, comfortable, and caring environment for pets, trying to ensure they feel at ease with gentle care, attention, and plenty of affection.
“Extremely professional and caring. One of the few pet sitters we've had who really took their time, and made sure our animals were well cared for. Really and excellent experience all around!”

“Jason was wonderful. He was communicative, went above and beyond (like offering to pick up more food when I miscounted and didn't leave enough cans of food), and was generally lovely to correspond with. Me and my cats wholeheartedly endorse!”

“Megan was an absolutely fantastic cat sitter. She spent plenty of time with our cat and is clearly just an animal lover and understands their needs. She was a thorough communicator and went above and beyond in everything. I have already booked Megan again and I hope she can be our go-to sitter in the future! I highly recommend.”

“Joshgun is extremely professional, I would definitely recommend him! He was punctual, kind, communicative and flexible. Our cat felt happy and safe with him :) looking forward to working with him again!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Silver Spring. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
