About: Hi, I'm a lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals throughout my life. Growing up surrounded by pets taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, and understanding each animal's unique personality and needs. Today, I work in healthcare, where compassion, attentiveness, and trust are at the core of everything I do. I bring those same qualities to every dog I care for, ensuring they receive safe, reliable, and loving attention while you're away. Whether your pup needs an energetic walk, extra companionship, or a caring friend to keep them active and happy, you can count on me to treat them like family. Dog walking is a regular part of my weekly schedule, and I prioritize providing dependable, consistent care for every dog. I carefully plan my day to accommodate scheduled walks, ensuring each pet receives appropriate exercise, attention, and outdoor time based on their individual needs. I maintain clear communication with pet owners, arrive on time, and provide updates when requested. My goal is to ensure every walk is safe, enjoyable, and beneficial for the dog's physical and mental well-being. I provide safe, attentive walks tailored to each dog's energy level and needs. I ensure they get exercise, mental stimulation, water when needed, and plenty of positive reinforcement during our time together
“Antonio is very calm and has a lovely home for your fur baby to enjoy while staying there. Barklee came home exhausted which usually means he had lots of fun.”

About: I used to be a manager at a dog shelter which I absolutely loved before moving to a new state. I’ve also grown up on a farm and handled all types of pets from goats, pigs, cows to dogs, cats, hamsters, and fish. I believe every animal deserves to be treated as family not just a pet. I am always home until 3pm when I leave for work, but when I am not home my partner is home. Someone will always be there to take care of your furry or scaly family and will never be left without someone even for a second. They will be welcomed with love, play, and kindness in my home. We will ensure nothing is around that will harm the animal whether it is cables, shoes, food, etc. we will always be around to ensure your pet is taken care of and in good health.
“Justin and Jeremy are awesome! I needed a last minute sitter for my pampered pup and Justin and Jeremy responded very quickly to my request and I was able to schedule a meet and greet a few hours after speaking. My pup was scheduled for daycare the following day and I know she had a great time as Justin and Jeremy sent pictures throughout the day of her taking a walk, napping, and enjoying cuddles. When I returned to pick her up I could see she was very comfortable with Justin and Jeremy and had a full day playing with other pups as she quickly fell asleep on the car ride home. I would definitely entrust Justin and Jeremy with caring for my pup again! Thank you Justin and Jeremy! -Jessica and Coco Monroe”

About: My Golden Lab, Grace, was my best friend. She escaped from a puppy mill at 3 months old and I had her ever since. Dogs offer such unconditional love and the chance to repay that even a little bit is rewarding. I work full time in mental health close to home. I have a flexible schedule that allows me a lot of free time and the ability to make my own schedule. I love reading, writing, cooking and exploring my new city I now call home. I'm also experienced in taking care of bunnies as well and have sat over 10 clients. I love chilling with them while reading! I mean, it’s a fact that floppy bunny ears are the cutest thing ever, right? I think Bill Nye the Science Guy taught me that. My experience with pets over the years has taught me that they often act out when they don’t feel comfortable. They also sometimes show aggression or fear in new circumstances. This is all totally normal! My first focus is always allowing a visiting pooch to scope out the place at their own pace without any distractions. This allows them to feel as comfortable as possible. I stay close and keep a special eye on them in case they’re telling me with body language that they’re upset, scared, hungry or just want some outside time! I learned from Grace that all animals deserve compassion and understanding and they’ll feel loved and understood. I would love the chance to provide a home-away-from-home for your doggie that they will love to return to each time you’re away! I work three days of the week remotely, leaving me with a lot of one on one time with your fur baby to cuddle, take a walk, or have a belly rub! When your baby steps into my home, they are now officially in a space they are free to explore without restrict so they can find the most comfortable spot that makes them feel cozy and welcomed!
“Scout, always a nervous dog, has decided she loves Cassidy and Elizabeth! This visit they played endless fetch and went on an outing in Rock Creek Park. We were so grateful for the great care they took with her. Will will definitely rebook.”

“Verde had a wonderful time with Rene. When we pulled up the next day she couldn’t wait to get out of the car and greet them. They kept me well updated. We’re definitely using them again.”

About: Hi! We're Pat and Adi, a couple of dog and cat lovers with years of experience petsitting and dogwalking. Adi has been around dogs his entire life. Prior to grad school he was the main one responsible for walking, feeding, and handling medications for his family dog. Pat grew up with several indoor and outdoor cats, and later in life discovered his love for dogs. He spent a year volunteering at the Lost Dog Rescue Foundation walking (and hanging out with) dogs of various sizes, ages, and backgrounds. Over the years, many friends and family members have trusted us to look after their pets while they're away. Together we have combined experience with dogs and cats of all ages, from rambunctious kittens to sweet senior dogs (who we have a soft spot for). We do not currently have pets of our own, so we will treat yours like family every time they visit! In addition to petsitting, we also currently have availability for daily walks on weekdays (weekends can be negotiated). Because we work from home, someone is always at the apartment to provide constant supervision, regular potty breaks, and plenty of company. Our daily schedule typically runs from 7 AM to 11 PM, allowing us to easily mirror your pet's routine and feeding times. We also have excellent availability for daytime walks during weekdays, and weekend walks can be negotiated. Our neighborhood is in south Silver Spring right on the edge of a residential neighborhood in DC, which is perfect for quick and peaceful walks. For longer walks, we have a large, grassy park 5 minutes from us. If even longer walks are needed, Rock Creek Park is just a 15 minute walk away. Our apartment has a large open living space, as well as a wall-to-wall/floor-to-ceiling window in the main room. Dogs and cats usually enjoy the view (lots of squirrels, bunnies, birds, dogs, and other passersby to watch). We are south-facing and can get lots of sunlight if your pet likes that. We live on one of the upper floors, and there are two readily available elevators. There are other dogs in the building, but generally there's not much foot traffic, and there are multiple ways in and out of the building if you'd like us to keep your pet separate from others during their stay. Your pet is welcome on our living room furniture (couch, chairs, and recliner), but bedrooms are off limits as those are carpeted. We are also serious about following house rules when we take care of dogs/cats at their pet-owner's home. If your pet has any medications, allergies, special routines, or other considerations, please let us know. We are very detail-oriented and have experience with all kinds of different feeding routines and methods of delivering medication. Like we said, since we don't have pets of our own (yet), we really treat each pet the same way we would treat our own. Most importantly, that includes a lot of patience, love, and attention!
“Chad and Regina were very accommodating and flexible in helping tend to my pup’s first dog sit. Feeling at ease to leave her in their good hands in the future!”

About: Based in Petworth/Brightwood Park in NW DC, I am a lifelong animal lover and professional pet care provider with 15+ years of experience. I founded my own dog walking business in DC in 2009 and have built a loyal client base on one thing: treating every dog like my own. Experienced with all sizes and temperaments, I maintain my own professional liability insurance for your peace of mind. I share my home with two miniature pinschers of my own, so I understand what it means to leave a dog you love in someone else's hands. I work remotely, which means I am home and attentive throughout the day. Boarding dogs are never left alone for extended periods. They get regular outdoor time in our fully fenced yard, midday walks, and plenty of attention morning, afternoon, and evening. I require a meet-and-greet prior to all first-time bookings. Please reach out at least 5 to 7 days before your requested stay. Returning clients are welcome to book with 48 hours' notice. For holiday weekends, I recommend reaching out 2 to 3 weeks in advance as spots fill quickly. Pickup and drop off are available upon request for an additional fee. Please message me with your location for a quote. I serve clients in Northwest DC and surrounding neighborhoods. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priority. Boarding guests have a dedicated first-floor living space with access to a large deck and a fully fenced yard for secure off-leash time throughout the day. I maintain my own professional liability insurance for added peace of mind. My home is dog-proof and calm. I do not overbook, keeping the number of guests small so every dog gets individualized attention. I provide regular photo and message updates throughout every stay, so you always know your pup is happy and well cared for.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Silver Spring
Gregory is so wonderful with Evie! We’ve used him multiple times and, honestly, it brings me so much joy and ease to know they take care of Evie like their own. They play with her, challenge her, cuddle with her, and she looks forward to going every time! She loves their dogs and they’re all like little besties now. Gregory has great communication and provides updates throughout the day to make everything even better. We love sending Evie here!!

We as Valerie's owners added a complicated wrinkle -- I am traveling and have the Rover.com account, and my daughters were on the ground doing the drop off and pick up. Ana did not blink an eye over our logisitcal wrinkle. She was so easy to work with. My daughter said Ana was extremely welcoming and clearly a dog person, so Valerie was so excited to be at her place. We would definitely book with Ana again.

Chanelle has been walking my beagle since February. She is dependable, personable and Poppy looks forward to their walks. I have since engaged her for daycare and this summer she will be boarding for 10 days. I am so happy that I have found Chanelle to help care for my dog. I highly recommend her.

Michael is always reliable, this my second rover experience with michael and he’s always on top of communication, sending me photos of sevyn, asking any questions he might have. He’s honestly been such a big help on days I need someone to take care of sevyn even if it’s last minute

Aaron and Paweena took awesome care of Pele. The pups had tons of safe space to play outside, and I felt 100% confident in their care, knowing my dog was being treated like one of their own. Pele loved his stay. Would recommend 10/10, and will definitely be going back!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Silver Spring commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 5,503 sitters in Silver Spring, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
