“Our puppy Cody had an amazing day at Stephanie and Shaun’s today, and I would recommend them very highly to anyone who needs boarding or sitting services. Cody got to run around and play in a beautiful yard with their family and dogs. He was very well looked after. Stephanie and Shaun were very responsive and communicative, lots of pics and updates. They saved the day by taking a same day booking request for a last minute trip. I will book them again!”

“I felt very confident my dog was being very well-looked after. Cassidy sent me frequent photos and updates and seemed very happy to have my dog. I will definitely contact Cassidy the next time I need daycare of boarding.”

“My dog was happy when I came back! Everything was great and finding Shantell's house was super easy. We were just visiting DC but when we return we will likely message her again!”

About: I love dogs and cats! I can never have enough in my life and would love to care for your pet as I would for my own. I am comfortable with all dog/cat types and able to give medication, if needed. I am more than happy to share photos of your pets when you are away or at work! Feel free to ask questions! I work remotely 4-5 days out of the week and can spend time with your pup or cat during the day as you are out. They may even get a shout out on my work meetings ha! This will be on a case by case basis for this type of care. This will require a conversation about quirks of your furry friend.
“My dog seemed happy and healthy on pickup after two nights. I didn’t meet Dominique, just met her brother on both dropoff and pickup. He was good with my dog and theirs, as well as a third old pup who was at the house at pickup. They had the porch secured with a barrier that would not hold a big or determined dog but it seemed they were out there supervising all the time so no worries about escapes. They communicated well, I got photos and a few texts around logistics. Thanks guys! We’ll definitely consider using them again.”

“Justin and Jeremy are awesome! I needed a last minute sitter for my pampered pup and Justin and Jeremy responded very quickly to my request and I was able to schedule a meet and greet a few hours after speaking. My pup was scheduled for daycare the following day and I know she had a great time as Justin and Jeremy sent pictures throughout the day of her taking a walk, napping, and enjoying cuddles. When I returned to pick her up I could see she was very comfortable with Justin and Jeremy and had a full day playing with other pups as she quickly fell asleep on the car ride home. I would definitely entrust Justin and Jeremy with caring for my pup again! Thank you Justin and Jeremy! -Jessica and Coco Monroe”

My kids always had at least 2 dogs in the house and even though they are gone, I still loving pets around. I am retired and am at home full-time which gives me the availability to fully cater to your dogs. I like to go on walks in my neighbourhood and spend time in my fenced in backyard. I have a fenced in backyard with plent of room to play and run around. I also have a very walkable neighbourhood and have an extra room for your pet to have their space.
“Brit had such a great time with Angela! They managed two walks, despite the rain, and Brit slept the whole way home. We will definitely be back!”

“Matty has been very communicative, flexible, friendly, and most importantly great with Teddy Bear :) Best of all, he came highly recommended by people in whom I have complete confidence with regard to Teddy Bear's care, so I was able to have total peace of mind when I dropped Ted with him for the first time. Thank you, Matty!”

“I was really impressed with Jason N. and can't recommend him highly enough! My pup is a shy rescue with separation anxiety, but she immediately felt right at home at Jason N.'s and was having so much fun with the wonderful resident dog that she barely noticed when I left. I received regular updates on her day that completely assuaged any concerns I'd normally have, and when I picked her up at the end of the day I found her happy, relaxed, and all played-out. Having someone I really trust to watch Stella is an immense piece of mind, and I'll definitely be calling Jason N. next time I need a sitter.”

“Rene not only has two dogs but much experience caring for dogs. My pup loves to spend her days waking and playing with her canine friends. Thank you for the excellent service!”

“Petey had a great time with Emily and Mushu! Emily was very communicative and quick to respond via Rover message, and did a great job with Petey during his first daycare day. I was nervous about finding a new sitter after we moved back into the area, but Emily’s demeanor with Pete immediately put me at ease. He came home a happy pup! We will definitely book Emily again and I highly recommend her services.”

About: I'm a full-time professional with fairly flexible work hours. I have my own dog, a happy, healthy 9.5 yr old Plott-hound mix, Ollie. Additionally, I've watched and cared for at least 5-10 other dogs (friends, family, etc.) over recent years and am generally known as a bit of a 'dog whisperer'. I absolutely love dogs and look forward to taking exceptional care of your pet when you need to leave them in somebody else's care. Ollie and I walk for 3-4 miles each day around the neighborhood, and go to dog friendly parks/fields in my neighborhood where he can run off leash. As highlighted in the pictures, Ollie readily gets along with a wide variety of dogs as a walking buddy, a sleeping buddy, or a running-around-a-field buddy. If you leave your dog with me and Ollie, your dog will have a canine friend, get lots of fun neighborhood walks, and have friends to cuddle up with on the couch / in their dog bed after a long-day of walking, eating, and sleeping :). I typically do two long walks each day (one between ~7-9 AM, the other sometime between 5-7 PM). Will also do a short mid-day walk and/or a short pre-bedtime walk as needed! While Ollie was crate trained as a puppy, at this point he roams freely throughout the house. That said, I'm happy to host crate-trained dogs, and more than comfortable allowing your (trained!) dog to roam free throughout my home much like Ollie.
“Neesha was kind and loving towards our dog. The space is beautiful and idyllic for a dog to run around. We felt very comfortable leaving our dog in Neesha’s hands.”

About: We’re Juan and Felipe, a pet-loving couple who grew up with dogs in our families and have been around animals our entire lives. We adopted our sweet dog, Roma, over four years ago, and she’s been the heart of our home ever since. She’s incredibly friendly and loves meeting new dogs. Friends and family regularly trust us with their pets when they travel—feeding, walking, bathing, and giving them all the attention they need. Caring for animals is something we genuinely enjoy, and we treat every pet like part of the family. Our work schedules complement each other, which means your dog will rarely be alone. Juan is available on Fridays and weekends and Felipe is usually off during the weekdays. This alternating rhythm keeps at least one of us at home most of the time, giving your dog consistent human company, attention, and care. We treat every dog in our home like family, creating a safe, calm, and supervised environment where they can relax and feel secure. We follow each pup’s routines, monitor playtime closely, and make sure everyone gets plenty of attention, comfort, and gentle structure. With our friendly resident dog Roma and a home set up for pets, your dog will be cared for with the same love and responsibility we give our own.

Takoma Park dog parents share their Rover experiences
New to Rover, contacted Colleen for a last minute sitting appointment- she couldn’t have been more helpful and easy going! 💜. Was a bit nervous dropping my baby off with a stranger but as soon as I met her, I felt totally at ease. My pup ran to her as if they were long lost buddies! Colleen updated me with texts and pics to show how happy he was with her and her lovely dog, Lily. So relieved to have found Colleen! Thank you again!

Angel was very sweet, warm, clearly loves dogs, and had great communication. This was our first day with Angel, basically a trial run for a longer trip coming up. My girl Leeloo usually takes a minute to warm up to people and always wants to leave a new daycare immediately as soon as I get there. But she warmed up to Angel immediately and seemed really comfortable in her house. I'm so glad we found Angel to take care of our baby while we're away.
