“Dealing with Nadia was a delight. She is easygoing, professional and quite nice. She dealt very well with our dog and our dog did excellent with her. We will certainly be booking her services again and we are very grateful.”

“This was my first time using Rover and was in a tight spot after my go-to walker was out of town. Andrew was more than we could have asked for. Our dog is an anxious fellow but took to Andrew immediately which really gave us peace of mind.”

“We are just thrilled with the care Leo's reliability, kindness, and the care he shows for our dog. I happened to be home when he came by yesterday, and saw that he removed his shoes when he came in. Our family doesn't wear shoes in the house and we have a tray next to the door for shoes, but we never ask or expect guests to remove theirs. Leo is so considerate and observant that he did this on his own. I think this speaks volumes about him. We feel very fortunate to have him caring for Jake.”

“Joseph M was great with Diego and Daisy. He has a great manner with the dogs. He was reliable and sent regular, detailed updates. We will use him again in a heartbeat.”

About: I have a lifetime of experience caring for dogs, cats, and other small animals! I love all animals and will take care of your fur babies like my own! I’m a teacher and work M-F during the school year and am available for overnight stays, before school, or after school. In the summer I am available throughout the day. I am available for overnight stays as requested. I am happy to feed, water, scoop, play, and snuggle with your kitties as much or as little as you prefer.
About: I'm a full-time professional with fairly flexible work hours. I have two dogs, a happy, healthy 12 yr old Plott-hound mix, Ollie, and a happy, energetic and loving 2 yr old husky-shepherd mix, Bella., I've watched and cared for dozens of other dogs (friends, family, etc.) over the last 15 years and am generally known as a bit of a 'dog whisperer'. I absolutely love dogs and look forward to taking exceptional care of your pet when you need to leave them in somebody else's care. Ollie, Bella, and I walk for ~4 miles every day around the neighborhood, go to dog friendly parks/fields in my neighborhood, and walks in the woods where they can run off leash. As highlighted in the pictures, Ollie and Bella readily get along with a wide variety of dogs as a walking buddy, a sleeping buddy, or a running-around-a-field buddy. If you leave your dog with us, your dog will have new canine friends, get lots of fun neighborhood walks, and have friends to cuddle up with on the couch / in their dog bed after a long-day of walking, eating, and sleeping :). I typically do two long walks each day (one between ~7-9 AM, the other sometime between 5-7 PM). Will also do a short mid-day walk and/or a short pre-bedtime walk as needed! While Ollie and Bella were crate trained as puppies, at this point they roams freely throughout the house. That said, I'm happy to host crate-trained dogs, and more than comfortable allowing your (trained!) dog to roam free throughout my home much like my pups.
“George had a great walk and extra time outdoors while I was out for a full day. Thomas responded to George’s needs as an older dog sensitive to hot weather. He loved getting out for fresh air and I got a lot of cute photos!”

About: As a dog owner for over a decade, I love every opportunity to spend time walking and caring for my pup. I have provided in-home and drop-in pet sitting for friends and neighbors for several years. Now I'm looking to do the same for your pups. I'm currently furloughed from my job and so have a very flexible schedule between 9am and 5pm on weekdays, and can also accommodate dog walks on weekends with sufficient advance notice. I take walking safety seriously and will only walk your dog on leash. I am also happy to take them to their favorite dog park to get out those zoomies.

About: I was practically raised by wolves lol. Growing up in a Huge Southern Household I’ve had plenty of Paws-on experience with dozens of breeds, all sizes, ages, and temperaments. From HUGE St Bernard’s and German shepherd’s, to Pomeranians and Yorkipoos! I’m a college student on summer break, so the sky is the limit! My schedule is extremely flexible, and I will be happy to discuss that further with you. Unfortunately, I do not offer boarding services at this time. I am familiar and experienced taking precautionary measures to keep your fur baby safe and happy home and in public spaces.

About: I have ample experience taking care of all kinds of pets, with all kinds of medical needs, administering medication, walking dogs at any length that is required. I am available during most of a standard day and can work most times advanced noticed. Whatever you and your pets needs are, I will work to meet them. I provide pets with as much care and attention as possible when both boarding and caring for them in other spaces. I work hard to make sure every space I take them to is pet friendly and safe for them.
About: I've had a passion caring for animals since I was little. I've cared for neighbors dogs and as I get older I've participated in vet camps, volunteered and interned at animal shelters and clinics. I'm also in college majoring in animal science to eventually become a veterinarian! Pet care is already a consistent part of my daily routine so I’m comfortable fitting walks, feedings, playtime, and check-ins into my schedule. I plan my days carefully to make sure my guinea pig gets reliable attention, feed, and cuddle time. In my home, I keep my pets safe, comfortable, and on a consistent routine with food, water, cleaning, and attention. I care for my guinea pig daily, so I’m used to being responsible and attentive to pets needs. In clients homes, I follow their pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, and companionship.
“Rachel was awesome with my two dogs. She sent lots of photos and was super helpful cleaning up after one of the pups ate a pillow and left feathers all over the living room.”

About: I have taken care of pets since I was 12 years old. I started with cats but have also been walking and taking care of dogs for the past few years! I am working full time for just a couple of weeks this summer. Other than that I have plenty of time to spend with your cats! I keep all windows secured and make sure there are no safety hazards. After feeding and taking care of any other tasks, I love to play and snuggle with cats!

About: I grew up with two cats, a dog, and would walk dogs in the neighborhood I grew up. I’ve trained dogs to sit, stay, speak, and other basic skills. I can drop by any time as long as I have notice! External commitments are flexible. Weekends are when I am mostly available at this time. I believe in leaving things better than you found them, and I love taking care of all living beings. I show that same amount of care in others’ homes.
“Victor was great! We needed a Rover at the last minute during the holiday season and he was available. He met up with us the same day to go over everything and communicated the entire time we were out of town. We came back to a very happy dog! We can’t thank him enough and will definitely try to book again if he’s available.”

About: I’ve lived with dogs since I was 8 years old. I have always had fun playing and taking care of them. My cousin and my aunt always come to me to make sure that their pets are feed and taken care of when they are gone. I’m currently in school but get out early at around 11. I can very much walk them anytime after 11 since I don’t do anything else. I can spend time with your fur baby in your backyard for however long you need me to! I am great with being out doors so I will never mind.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Takoma Park
Kathleen came to walk my puppy after he had been crated for several hours so I know he was probably super energetic. She took him on a long sniff walk and sent cute pics and a video. She was a pleasure to meet in person for our meet & greet and I just knew I could trust her!

Havi has been a god send! Although she’s only been walking Frankie for two weeks, he has totally fallen for her. He watches the door each morning and when the door opens, he flies to meet her for his walk. The sight of his little wagging butt is so adorable. Havi is definitely a winner!

Judy was wonderful with our pup! She stepped in on short notice and was incredibly flexible and reliable. We especially appreciated how she adapted to our dog’s unique temperament and needs, making her feel comfortable and cared for while we were away. It’s clear she genuinely loves animals, and we wouldn’t hesitate to have her watch our girl again. Highly recommend!

Amani provides excellent, dependable, and timely service. She communicates and schedules in advance, and always follows through. My dog knows her well and feels completely comfortable around her. If you’re looking for professionalism, reliability, and genuine kindness toward your pet, I highly recommend her services.

Katherine does an excellent job with Otto. He is a very spirited pup and doesn’t always have the best walking etiquette (we’re working on it!) and Katherine handles it beautifully. He always excited to see her and it’s clear he feels safe with her. Katherine is also punctual, dependable and personable.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
