Eleanor B.
“Eleanor is an exceptional pet caregiver. I have seen her provide pet care for not only her dog but others as well. She has often said that her ultimate dream job would be taking care of dogs and her love for animals reflects this wish. She has trained her dog very well, teaching him respect to the extent that her dog does not need a leash when taking a dog. She treats others' dogs with the same respect and care as she treats her own. Her past experience demonstrates extreme compassion for animals and I have no doubt that she will be an excellent addition to Rover.com.”

About: Saying that animals have always been a part of my life is a huge understatement. My life has always been happily raining cats and dogs… As well as a myriad of other animals, including ferrets, hedgehogs, hamsters, fish, turtles other reptiles and so amphibians… When other people are spending their birthdays at the local Ruby Tuesdays, you can find us at a wolf sanctuary or a wildlife park somewhere. We happily jump at opportunities to interact with animals; we just love them so. And we have also raised kids who love and are just as passionate about animals as we are. My skills include experience handling, babysitting, owning, loving and doting over animals. I also have some minor experience in training both cats and dogs. However, I think my best and most sincere qualities are the sheer enthusiasm, joy and excitement I bring to be around animals, and to love them… Matching their energy, respecting their space and desiring to make them feel cared for and comfortable while their family is away. As a former award-winning school teacher, this was important for me when serving children; this is important to me when serving you and your furry friends. Caring for your pet would very easily fit into my schedule as my schedule is really flexible. I do educational consulting very part-time. I am honestly looking for more ways to be more physically, active and get out of my house more. Firstly, it is important to me that your animal be comfortable with me and that they feel like it’s a good match. If you feel like or believe that your animal is not comfortable with me then by all means, you should seek a new care provider. Animals are really smart and they will know if it’s a good match for them. Secondly, my goal is to make sure that your pet is always safe and always feels safe. I follow their queue and I am very observant of other animals that may be around. If something doesn’t feel right or I’m sensing from your animal or another animal that they are uncomfortable than I will immediately respond to create a safer environment and take your animal to a safe location or back home if we’re out for a walk. I also pay a lot of attention to how animals are behaving, even when they’re home to make sure that they’re not feeling sick and that they haven’t gotten into anything they shouldn’t have. I believe that early detection and intervention for any illness is key in animal health and care. A good care provider is observant and present. They’re not caught up in their technology and ignoring their responsibilities. I’ve heard some horror stories, and it’s just very shocking to me. I firmly believe that if you aren’t interested in really caring for a pet then you just should not sign up to do it. It’s that simple! For animals that I provide care for in my home, I live in a pet friendly community. I have a very secure apartment that is on the ground level. My patio walks out to a huge, beautiful grassy lawn with a lovely man-made pond and lots of fenced in space for dogs to play and run; probably about a half an acre to an acre of space. I’m also very happy to watch and provide care for your pet in your home space. I am committed to supporting the routines that you have in place for your pet and following any safety measurements that you’ve already established. While I use the term pet, I know that this is a member of your family, and they mean so much to you. Pets are family and they deserve love, respect, and care.
