Nicole is amazing! She treated Diesel like he was apart of her family. He went on atleast 30 minute walks which is needed for my dog. If you have dogs that are interested in other animals, Nicole knows how to regain attention from your dog and complete the walk. I will definitely be using Nicole again.

This is our first time working with Michael, and he was absolutely excellent, incredibly responsive, and prompt for every walk. My pet Romeo is a senior Yorkie, and his needs are simple, but he is very old now. Michael was incredibly gentle and took his time on walks with Romeo. Sent real time updates and photos. I’m always grateful for highly communicative walkers and people who care about my pet.

Gina has been phenomenal with my energetic pup! I didn’t intentionally book with her at the start of the hottest summer on record in DC, but that’s how things worked out. I don’t think she has had a single pleasant weather day since she began walking Remy, yet she has been incredibly professional and mindful of my baby boy’s needs on scorching summer days. And Remy adores her! We are so thankful for you, Gina!

About: I’ve had two wonderful dogs since they were 10 weeks old. We’ve completed dog training classes together and I’ve learned all about pet care through them. Im currently working from home and never travel because I have a toddler son and 2 dogs, so im often available on weekends for pet care and during the week for walks I have two friendly dogs to keep your dog company and a large house for plenty of play space. I’m also experienced with picky eating dogs.

About: I’m Tracey and I love fur babies! They are the most loyal and sweet pals who truly care about everyone they interact with. I miss having my constant companion, Jasper, since he passed and I’m not currently able to adopt a pup. Providing loving care to the wonderful animals of my community is the perfect way to get my ‘dog fix’ in! What you will love about me is that I’ve been a lifelong pet parent and have been the go-to pet sitter for my friends and family members for years. I’m responsible and trustworthy, and aim to create a respectful and friendly relationship between you and your family! I treat others’ fur babies as if they were my own because I know how important they are to their families. Being communicative is also important when watching pups, so I keep you updated with photos and texts so you know what we’re up to while you’re away. I have cared for dogs of every size, breed, and personality and have specific experience with Miniature Schnauzers, as I owned one for over 12 years. I was also a foster mom with Schnauzer Rescue League of the Mid Atlantic. I would be happy to care for any pooch on Rover! I live Hyattsville in a beautiful and spacious home that is completely pet-friendly. All animal visitors are allowed on the furniture with your permission, and can enjoy cuddle sessions on the couch each night. We have a fenced-in backyard where your dog can enjoy safe potty breaks and play time or even sunbathing and nap time! My neighborhood is perfect for pups, too! It’s a mix of townhomes and family homes with lots of children. It’s a very walkable area close to shops and restaurants and a doggie park. I live with my 21 year old son, Timothy, who is a former Rover sitter and would be happy to dole out extra cuddles to your pal. When I'm not pet sitting, I'm tweaking areas around my house, working in my garden, exercising, or volunteering at Meals on Wheels. I love being a stress free as possible and having doggie visitors helps me stay happy and healthy! I can’t wait to meet you.

About: *** Not taking on new clients at this time (as of November 2025)***** I have over 20 years of combined experience caring for both cats and dogs of many different ages, with some specific skills around training reinforcement for dogs. Growing up, I cared for my own cat as well as cats and dogs in the neighborhood. As an adult, I have cared for both cats and dogs and done extended house-sits for clients and friends with cats. I have my own dog, named Billie, who is an 8-year-old german shepherd/lab mix. I love animals of all kinds, and love to get to know animals and help them feel safe, cared for, and joyful/playful. I am an MSW graduate student and working part-time, and have a good deal of flexibility in my schedule. I have availability throughout the day for drop-in visits and walks, and morning/ weekend/ nighttime availability as well. My home has a fenced-in yard and is very safe and comfortable for dogs. I am conscientious and clean when spending time in the homes of clients. I will take great care of your home in addition to your animal companion!

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
