“Thank you for taking care of our baby! Nicole was great - patient with Ethel, who was a little anxious. If we are ever looking for a sitter near DC again, we will absolutely reach out again!”

“Catie was great with my pup Ruby! Ruby has some extra triggers, and Catie not only was great with making sure Ruby did okay and figuring out what Ruby needed alongside the other dogs in care that day, but also provided frequent updates throughout the day. 5/5!”

“Rita was absolutely amazing with my dog, Natalie! Natalie can be reactive and typically needs time to adjust to new environments and people, but Rita went above and beyond to make sure she felt comfortable and supported. She took the time to really understand Natalie’s needs, triggers, and what makes her happy, which made such a difference. I really appreciated the regular photo updates and how communicative she was throughout—checking in, asking thoughtful questions, and keeping me reassured the entire time. It’s clear Rita genuinely cares and puts in the extra effort, and because of that, Natalie had a great experience. I’m so grateful and would absolutely book with her again. Thank you, Rita!”

“My dog loves his time with Jeff. And I love Jeff's experience with dogs, his pics of my dog, and the backyard area where my pup can safely play with other dogs and hang out with Jeff.”

“Olive and I are so happy we found such a great place for her to hang out while I’m working! Malvi, Andrej, and Max are her new favorites and she awaits impatiently to spend the day with them. The pictures always show her smiling face :)”

“Angela was easy to schedule, responsive, and asked appropriate questions to confirm Fig’s care needs during her stay. She was patient with our dog’s nervous tendencies”

About: I have experience fostering a puppy and volunteering at dog shelters, where I regularly take dogs out for walks and give them loving attention. I grew up with a golden retriever named Max, which sparked my lifelong love for dogs. Caring for dogs is something I truly enjoy, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I am available throughout the weekdays and select weekends. I kindly ask for advance notice when possible, as I am a college student balancing my schedule. I care for pets in a safe, calm home environment with plenty of space to play and relax. I live in a house with a large backyard. I am happy to crate your dog if needed, as long as you provide the crate.
About: Hello World! My name is Rouday and I have been taking care of dogs since I was 10 years old. In those 25 years I have had the privilege of raising three dogs, all different shapes and sizes. I enjoy taking dogs on long walks, playing with them at dog parks, and loving up on my furry friends. I currently have an extremely flexible schedule as I work remotely and control my own workflow. I also have two young children that require schedule flexibility. Very safe secure building, which includes dedicated dog walking areas, and also room to groom pets as well. Location is also close to some great parks and walking paths that dogs will enjoy
“Once again, Christian knocked it out of the park! Jo Jo and Corduroy were thrilled to learn they were going back to their friend’s house today and they can’t wait to go back. Thank you for your excellent care today, Christian!”

“Aroa was fantastic. Great communications throughout the entire process, sent many wonderful photos over the day, and the puppy loved her & her place! Very happy with my choice.”

“Aaron & Paweena were great and accommodated me so last minute! My sweet boy can be a bit nervous at first when it comes to settling in but he had such a great day and was absolutely exhausted by the end of the day! I came back to him chewing on a treat they gave him & he barely acknowledged me picking him up lol this won’t be my last time booking!”

About: Hello! Stella, Sebastian and I would be happy to host your pup for the time you’re away. I work from home full time and live in a great neighborhood that has ample sidewalks and is very dog friendly. Stella is a mini bernedoodle, K9 Good Citizen certified and gets along with everyone. Your pup has run of the home like her. Welcome on the furniture. Sleeps in my bed (unless you prefer otherwise). Sebastian is a 7 month old kitten that is very bonded and plays beautifully with Stella. He loves to cuddle and be around humans and animals. My husband and I work from home full time. Stella gets walks every 3-4 hours depending upon my schedule (and the weather). If your pup requires more or less we can certainly make it work. We don’t have a yard but we live in a very walkable neighborhood that is extremely dog friendly. My home is two stories so if there’s any issue with stairs please be sure to mention that.

“I was really impressed with Jason N. and can't recommend him highly enough! My pup is a shy rescue with separation anxiety, but she immediately felt right at home at Jason N.'s and was having so much fun with the wonderful resident dog that she barely noticed when I left. I received regular updates on her day that completely assuaged any concerns I'd normally have, and when I picked her up at the end of the day I found her happy, relaxed, and all played-out. Having someone I really trust to watch Stella is an immense piece of mind, and I'll definitely be calling Jason N. next time I need a sitter.”

“Joey did a fantastic job to take great care of my 7-year-old labrador who had a bit of separation anxiety. I am so grateful with Joey to accept the last minute request after a brief meet up. I would love to use his services again and highly recommend him. Thanks again Joey for your flexibility and patience with Meimei!”

About: What sets me apart is the genuine love and patience I have for animals. I treat every pet like they’re my own baby, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I know how important it is to trust someone with your fur baby, so I always make it my priority to give them attention, affection, and gentle care. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel loved, safe, and comfortable. I make time throughout my day for feeding schedules, playtime, litter box cleaning, cuddles, and giving pets attention so they never feel ignored or lonely. I’m very organized and dependable, so I’m able to stick to each cat’s routine and provide consistent care, updates, and affection throughout the week. I am currently a full time student but I am home from school so I am fully free When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, a clean litter box, playtime, affection, and a calm environment where they feel safe and comfortable. I pay close attention to their behavior and needs so I can make sure they are happy, healthy, and well cared for while their owner is away. I’m very respectful of both the pet and the home, and I believe trust, communication, and reliability are extremely important. I also provide updates and photos for reassurance so owners can feel at ease knowing their fur baby is in loving hands. If your babies were to come to my House then I have a quiet home and space and I also have a dog park for play time
About: I have been taking care of animals most of my adult life. I know that pets are part of the family, and I would be honored to take care of your baby! I am an Ivy League trained lawyer, currently on sabbatical. I have a lot of flexibility and can accommodate most schedules for walking and check-ins/ sitting. I grew up with lots of animals: 3 dogs, 2 cats and 2 horses. I recently lost my 15 year old pup after a battle with cancer. I have lots of experience in senior dog care, including medicine administration. Walking: I am free mornings, afternoons or evenings for walks. If you are located far away from me, the price increases a dollar or two to accommodate my mileage. Drop ins: Drop in rate is per visit. A drop in includes a walk or potty break, feeding, playing, hanging out with your pet. If you are located far away from me, the price increases a dollar or two to accommodate my mileage. House sitting: I can stay overnight for sitting if requested. Otherwise house sitting rate typically includes three drop-ins: morning, afternoon and evening. If your pet requires additional drop ins or for me to stay for lengthy periods of time at your house/ apartment, etc., I can likely accommodate those needs for an additional charge. Base rate may increase a dollar or two if you are located far away from me. Because my schedule is flexible, I am happy to accommodate requests on short notice. Making sure your dog is safe and having fun are my top priorities. I can walk your dog around your neighborhood or bring them on adventures in my car. I also know that being a good pet sitter is about attention to detail and communication. I will make sure to give you lots of updates whether I’m watching your baby for an extended time or just taking them for a walk.

Lottie enjoyed her time with Alicia and Hazel! She arrived tired, since we’ve been on the road, but each afternoon, when we picked her up, Lottie was ready to go again! I knew it was a great fit when I walked Lottie to Alicia’s the 2nd day- she bounded up the steps with tail wagging!

Melanie did an amazing job caring for my dog, Milly, for daycare! Milly has severe separation anxiety, but she seemed very comfortable with Melanie. Melanie took Milly on multiple walks throughout the day and sent great photos of her. very grateful for Melanie's help.

Jules was great with my dog, Quill. She was responsible in scheduling a meet and greet to ensure he was comfortable in her space and around her roommate’s cat. And she sent lots of pictures while he was with her that showed how at ease he was with her in her space. I’d happily recommend Jules to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to watch their pet!

Wonderful experience! This is my first time leaving my fur baby with June and she didnt disappoint. She gave my senior pup, Snapple, plenty of cuddles and attention all day. And I absolutely love the amount of pics and videos June sent during her stay to make me feel comfortable as a dogmom :-). I highly recommend!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Colmar Manor commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
