“Simply phenomenal! This was the first time we've had to leave Ollie for the whole day so we wanted to be sure he was left in good hands. I've been on the sitter side many times before but this was the first time we've left one of our dogs with someone other than family. We could not be happier or more grateful! Catie was extremely communicative, gave multiple picture and video updates, and Ollie clearly had a blast playing with Catie's dogs! So glad to have found such a loving, attentive sitter we can feel so comfortable leaving our pup with :)”

“Murray and Monty had another wonderful day at “Uncle Jeff and Dan’s” house! It’s only been a few times we’ve left them and they already can’t wait to go! It has been an amazing experience finding them, because we know they’re safe, happy and well cared for and we never have to worry. Thanks again for everything.”

“I brought my little senior to Denisha and I could not have been happier with the care she took with him. She has true caring for animals and she cared for my dog as well as she cared for her own dogs. They went on walks and when she noticed he was lagging, she picked up his ten pound self and carried him the rest of the way. She cues into behaviors to figure out dynamics and issues. She was just great. I loved that she took him on walks because no place I have taken him has ever put that effort into him. Please consider Denisha as a caretaker for your dog. I will definitely be going back to her.”

My work schedule is very flexible, so I'll have plenty of time to care for your fur babies, giving them the loving attention that they deserve. You can expect the following when your pet is in my care: -All potty breaks and outdoor exercise will occur in our secure, fenced backyard. -Your pet will have a minimum of 2 potty breaks per day. -Your pet’s food will be replenished in accordance with their feeding schedule. -Your pet will have constant access to water (unless you instruct otherwise).
About: I've always had dogs growing up in southern Virginia. I have taken care of my own pets for the past 10 years, I have a dog and a cat (that acts like a dog). My dog is not spayed, so I have experience with dogs in heat. If your dog is not neutered, I have experience monitoring behavior and separating the animals. My parent's dog is not neutered. As a loving parent of a goldendoodle, pet care is a big part of my daily routine. I am able to work remotely on most days so I can be flexible with my dog walking schedule. Most mornings start with fresh water and fresh food and a walk. I usually walk my dog again during lunch and then after the work day is over in the evening. I understand dog/cat behavior and know when to separate the animals. Moreover if you dog is crate trained, I will use that as their safe space whenever they may be anxious. If possible, please leave an item from home with your scent.
About: I’ve done rover before and I’ve made long friends with watching their pets I’ve seen them grow and be the best fur balls they are I only work on the weekends 9pm-7am so I’m home during the week. “Rita was absolutely amazing with my dog, Natalie! Natalie can be reactive and typically needs time to adjust to new environments and people, but Rita went above and beyond to make sure she felt comfortable and supported. She took the time to really understand Natalie’s needs, triggers, and what makes her happy, which made such a difference. I really appreciated the regular photo updates and how communicative she was throughout—checking in, asking thoughtful questions, and keeping me reassured the entire time. It’s clear Rita genuinely cares and puts in the extra effort, and because of that, Natalie had a great experience. I’m so grateful and would absolutely book with her again. Thank you, Rita!”
About: I have hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats, providing attentive daily care that includes feeding, fresh water, enrichment, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. I’m comfortable with all temperaments and take time to build trust through calm, positive interactions. My care focuses on safety, routine, and giving each pet the individual attention they need, whether that’s a walk, playtime, or quiet companionship. Pet care is naturally woven into my daily routine. I start each morning by checking on the pets, refreshing their water, and serving breakfast before beginning my own day. Walks, litter box care, and playtime are scheduled around my regular tasks so pets receive consistent attention and activity throughout the day. I plan my work, chores, and errands with built-in breaks to ensure pets get timely bathroom outings, companionship, and enrichment. In the afternoon and evening, I incorporate additional exercise, feeding, and quiet bonding time. I keep a predictable schedule so pets feel secure and know what to expect. Even during busy days, I prioritize their needs by preparing supplies in advance, keeping my home organized, and setting reminders for medications or special instructions. When pets stay in my home, I focus on providing a safe, comfortable, and structured environment where they can relax and feel at ease. I start by setting up a designated space for each pet, complete with cozy bedding, fresh water, and any personal items their owner provides. Dogs receive regular outdoor breaks, and with a fenced house and large backyard they have plenty of playtime to keep them active and mentally stimulated. Cats enjoy a calm indoor environment with clean litter boxes, enrichment activities, and safe spaces to explore or relax. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, preferred activities, and any special care instructions. I monitor behavior, appetite, and energy levels throughout the day to ensure they feel happy and healthy. For pets that need extra support—such as seniors, shy animals, or those with mild anxiety—I provide gentle reassurance and a quiet, predictable space.
About: I am an animal lover and have had various types of animal companions throughout my lifetime. Currently I am the Farm operator for our Urban farm. We raise ducks and chickens but they are always separate from visiting pups. Only within view for their entertainment and relaxation here on the farm. Yes we are located nearby in the city 🥰 I have a quiet understanding with most animals that I come across and enjoy their company. I have sat for many of my friends and family and am the go to person when someone needs to go out and about but cannot take their pet family members. I am currently focusing on dog sitting and have dedicate my time to being available to meet as many fur babies as I can in the next couple months. I have a room dedicated to pet care which has a greenhouse feel with plants but is fully enclosed in the home. It has a doggy door which leads out to our fully fenced back yard and large dog run with a insulated dog house inside. I also have a wireless camera on the areas which allow me to make sure that everyone is ok at all times. Please note that I no longer accept large breed dogs at this time aside from past clients. I am currently focusing my time on pet sitting. I am always also checking in via webcam on the pups wherever I am. Dog personalities are so amazing and fun to see. I have a double fenced yard to keep your pets safe. Lots of open dog crates and bedding for snoozing. A dog door that allows them some freedom and a large dedicated outdoor dog area for doggie playtime. They also always have access to fresh cool water.
About: I’ve had dogs of different breads since I was a little girl. I used to feed and walk my neighbor’s dog around the community while also taking care of mine :) I’m currently a stay at home mom so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your dog indoors and also be able to take them out occasionally on walks. I live in an apartment so I unfortunately don’t have a yard at the moment. I do have a balcony that’s safe for a small dog to be in.
About: What sets me apart is the personal care and attention I give to every pet as if they were my own. I have experience potty training my own dog, so I’m patient and consistent with routines—especially helpful for puppies! I also create a calm, cozy environment that helps pets feel safe and loved while their owners are away. Having both a dog and a cat at home, I’m comfortable with different pet personalities and needs. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine! I have a small dog and a cat, so my day includes regular walks, playtime, feeding, and lots of cuddles. I enjoy spending time with animals and make sure they get the love and attention they need. In my home, pets are treated like family. I provide a safe, clean, and cozy environment where they can feel comfortable and loved. I follow each pet’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, and playtime.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
