“This was my second time leaving my rescue dog, Tao, with Rouday, and both experiences have been great. He was understanding of Tao's occasional timidity after being bounced between multiple shelters as a puppy. I also appreciate that he makes dog sitting a family affair, which has been great for Tao's socialization. I'd definitely recommend Rouday to anyone looking for a reliable dog sitter!”

“Cal and Kelly were wonderful with Ashley. I got lots of updates and pictures while I was away, which made me feel at ease knowing she was in good hands. They truly went above and beyond in caring for her, ensuring she was happy, comfortable, and well-entertained. Ashley clearly enjoyed her time with them, and I couldn’t be more pleased with their service.”

“Ayla provided a safe and loving environment for our puppy. She kept us updated about how things were going and was very responsive to all of our questions and instructions. She was calm even when our puppy was over excited with her pup and when he cried as we left him. He seemed very happy when we picked him up.”

“This is my 4th booking with Alder and Kathy and unless they are unavailable, I will continue to book with them. They are incredibly kind and soooo good with my little guy who can be shy. They send updates and I literally NEVER worry when he’s staying with them.”

“Dylan is fantastic! We booked him to watch our dog Bruno, and he went above and beyond from the very start. He was kind enough to set up a meet-and-greet a few days before our booking, which immediately gave us so much peace of mind and helped Bruno feel comfortable with him. During the stay, Dylan kept us completely updated every single morning with a detailed report of Bruno's behavior and daily routine. The photos he sent showed Bruno looking so relaxed and happy. Dylan is incredibly flexible, a great communicator, and always quick to respond to messages. I couldn't be happier knowing Bruno was in such wonderful company. I recommend Dylan 100%!”

“Rodrigo did a great job taking care of my sweet Frenchie, Bella. He sent me daily pictures and made sure to listen carefully to my care instructions. His own dog, Luna, was a great playmate to Bella and she came home happy and exhausted. I'd definitely use Rodrigo again!”

“Isai was great to work with for my dog. Just a short stay this time but he was easy to coordinate drop off and having a friend pick Watson up at the end. I felt that Watson was in good hands.”

“Tommy was excellent. I had to leave last minute for a work trip and he was more than happy to pick up Goggins. We messaged and met before the days agreed on. I was stressed about work and making sure Goggins was going to a safe place Tommy reassured me he got everything taken care of. He would send me pictures and updates. He dropped Goggins off with everything I gave him and it was an overall great experience. Oh, and it was my first time using Rover! I will definitely rebook with Tommy!”

“Another great overnight stay with June! Banks gets the absolute best care while staying with June and we’ll be back soon. He’s her little buddy now :)”

“Jasmine and Stormi were great with Roxy. Roxy was transitioning between dog foods during her stay and Jasmine handled it like a pro. I would highly recommend Jasmine for your next trip.”

“Caitlin took care of my small dog at her house when I took an overnight trip away. she sent so many pictures and videos of my dog. having fun, cuddling with her in bed, playing and taking lots of walks! My dog was of course happy to see me when I got home, but I think she misses Caitlin already! I would very strongly recommend. Caitlin as a dog sitter who will love and care for your dog as if they are her own!”

“Caleb was a perfect sitter. He was flexible and communicative and made sure my dog was comfortable and happy throughout his stay. Already booked for another stay, highly recommend.”

“Asha is amazing! It was our dog's first time with a sitter and we were nervous. Asha updated us regularly and took special note of what was needed to help our girl feel more comfortable. We will definitely be booking with Asha again. Thanks for such a great experience!”

“Haydenn took great care of JenniFUR! She’s currently in an anxious stage where new friends and places can seem overwhelming, but Haydenn made her feel right at home!”

“If you’re not booking Mady when she has availability then what are you doing. Mady was AWESOME! She took great care of our dog and sent tons of pictures and some video. She has a dog friendly home so if your dog has free range of the house like ours they will feel at home. Definitely will be using Mady again if her availability meets our needs for boarding. 5 ⭐️ job Mady.”

“Paula was an amazing sitter. From comforting me when my pup was acting out of character, to providing excellent care and attention to my pup during his stay. She provided detailed updates complete with pictures and videos. Definitely stumbled on a gem of a sitter with Paula.”

“Kiki is AWESOME! Our dog is on the older side and has some issues with allergies that, upon meeting for the first time, Kiki immediately noticed. I took that as a sign of empathy and caring, and felt I felt very confident leaving our dog, Rock, with her. Upon returning home, Rocky was happy, well-feed, and cared for. We HIGHLY recommend Kiki for dog sitting!!”

Mark provided excellent attention and care to our Koda. He was responsive, and effectively communicated throughout our fur baby's stay during the busy holiday weekend. He provided several photos of Koda enjoying outdoor play time with his new fur buddies. We highly recommend Mark and will definitely use him again for our future boarding needs!

Paula is AWESOME!! She always takes such good care of my dog, Duchess. She’s responsive, provides updates, and is attentive to care notes. She’s my favorite sitter! I always have peace of mind when she cares for Duchess…and Duchess is alwaysssss happy when she sees Paula and her family. Highly recommend!!!

Javien was fantastic with both of my pups!!! He communicated daily, made adjustments when I forgot to drop off one of my pups anxiety Rx and kept my pups happy. First, he took my last minute request like 24 hours before my last minute family trip. Then, he was just awesome the entire time. I couldn't ask for anything more than that to be honest. He kept my babies safe, smiling & even when he took another pup in he did a gradual introduction to each other and made sure he kept my 1 pup with slight food aggression away for the others while eating. I will use him again!

Evelyn was amazing with my babies, Monty & Sandy. We needed a sitter on short notice while we drove our oldest to college and Evelyn came through for us beautifully. She was in constant communication and sent us daily pictures of our pups. They immediately rams towards her at drop off which confirmed the good energy we felt when booking. Will definitely be booking her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
