“Stephanie was such a great host to my dog Bruno, she maintained communication/updates throughout the visit and was very attentive to my instructions for Bruno given he has a hard time adjusting to new places. Would definitely book with them again! -Lindsay”

“Lucia kept us up to date with our dog activities by frequently sending us pictures and we really enjoyed them. From the pictures, we could see that our dog was happy. We will definitely bring our dog to her next time we are going out of town again.”

“This was Denzel’s second stay with Corey and it was great! Corey sent updates throughout the day and accepted my last minute request to extend the stay. I really appreciate his flexibility, communication, and the care he shows Denzel. Thank you!”

“Joseph was very communicative and shared pictures of our pups with us daily. He followed all directions we gave him and made sure our pups feel at home under his care. I would recommend Joseph as a pet sitter and would entrust him with watching our pups again in the future. Thanks for taking care of our babies!”

“Christian was so great with Itty! She sent me pictures everyday of them out on walks and Itty curled up in the house. I would definitely recommend booking with her!”

About: I am a true Capitol Hill dog lover and I have always had a strong passion for animals, mostly for dogs. I have been caring for dogs since I was child, taking care of my mother’s beloved shitzu. Taking care of her helped me acquire basic canine behavior and taught me the responsibility of taking care of a pet. Most recently I raised my own best friend, Gelato an English Bulldog. I gained my breeder experience with Gelato and cared for her and her 6 puppies, until they were rehomed at 8 months. I enjoy taking long walks, which I consider the ultimate stress reliever and best way to exercise. I have no problem getting my hands dirty. I have 20 years of experience in the customer service field and enjoy striving to provide the best experience to my clients. In my personal time I am spending time with my 2 little girls teaching them how to play sports, and of course how to be loving pet owners. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page! I’m currently working part time and will be available to walk most pets during early mornings hours during the week and mid day and evenings during the weekend. I definitely would like to know your pets temperament, and what might scare them. I know they will feel most comfortable at home but if they are with me, I’d like to keep a calm, pet friendly setting for them to be comfortable in.
“We spent quite a bit of time searching for the perfect sitter for our senior Jack Russell Terrier, Bonzi, as he has only ever stayed with family. We met Johnathan and knew he was the one. He is friendly, kind, and caring. Bonzi stayed with him for a week and Johnathan treated him like a member of the family. He also stayed in touch with us sending updates and photos. Bonzi was well looked after and we will not hesitate to use Johnathan again. We are so happy we found him.”

“Cynthia was super thoughtful and flexible with our dog. She gives all her temporary pups a ton of attention, so she's perfect for a dog that needs to be around people. She was also very kind when my dog got anxious and chewed on some of her things. I definitely recommend her!”

“Riley had a wonderful time while we toured DC for several days. We got pictures from Geneen of a very happy lab playing with another labs. Lots or ball and water time. Would use her again without any hesitation. Riley came back smelling better than when she left.”
“Eli is the best!! I love the care he shows Skittles. I didn’t send enough food for my dog and Eli purchased more food for my furbaby!! The videos and pictures always made me feel good that my Skittles was doing just fine!! Eli will always be my first choice to sit for my dog.”

“Malvi and Andrew were absolutely wonderful, they sent so many videos and photos of our pup throughout the weekend and kept us updated. It was clear our dog, Stella, had so much fun. Highly recommend if you’re looking for someone that will truly care for your dog while away”

“Yasheen was great. He had an incredibly amazing response time, he communicated very clearly during the 7 days my puppy was with him. He sent videos and pictures daily of their walks and of her day to day activities. I’m sure i’ve found my dogsitter for life as long as he’s available 🤣”

“Abigail did a great job caring for my dog over the 4th of July weekend. I was able to relax knowing my dog was in good hands. As a bonus my pup had a great time playing with sweet Stella. Abigail was easy to coordinate with, gave regular updates and also was very knowledgeable about dog play styles/dog behavior. Highly recommend!”

“Jayla took great care of my baby. She made sure to send plenty of pics and videos. My baby had a great time with Jayla and I would definitely recommend and use her again!”

“Lia was so attentive to my dog Violet! So great to know she was in such good hands, Lia asked great questions and clearly cared to make Violet comfortable and happy during her stay.”

“The overall experience of April’s dog sitting service was outstanding, her compassion extended to Cairo and her patience with my travels was greatly appreciated. She went above and beyond with accommodations - even replaced his harness that broke while I was away. I would refer others and hope to reconnect with April for future dog sitting services.”

“Joe was very accommodating and took excellent care of Benji. He kept me updated and made the entire experience worry free. I would highly recommend Joe to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Glenarden
I recently went on vacation and left my Samoyed in Robert's care. As any Samoyed owner knows, these beautiful dogs come with a lot of fur that requires special attention and regular grooming maintenance. Robert did an excellent job caring for my dog during my time away. He was attentive to the specific needs that come with this breed, particularly the grooming requirements. My dog was happy, healthy, and well-cared for when I returned. I would definitely recommend Robert to other dog owners, especially those with high-maintenance breeds. He's reliable, caring, and clearly understands what it takes to properly care for dogs with special needs.

I would like to thank Rover and my sitter Latoya for giving my fur baby such a wonderful experience I was very skeptical about using this app for her but I'm glad I did Nola meet her a big sister and I see that she was treated well along with Chosen they got to be friends this Rover app provides great service and also brings pets together like family once again thank you Latoya Kudos 🙌🙌👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 I will definitely be using Rover again for my vacation and any future events when I need a sitter.💙💛❤️💜.

Mark and his family are the best home away from home for my baby. Quick response time, and very flexible when it comes to drop off and pick up, even when travel plans changed at the last minute. I appreciate the beautiful photos that I receive as well, all showing that Spud is having the best time!

Evelyn was amazing with my babies, Monty & Sandy. We needed a sitter on short notice while we drove our oldest to college and Evelyn came through for us beautifully. She was in constant communication and sent us daily pictures of our pups. They immediately rams towards her at drop off which confirmed the good energy we felt when booking. Will definitely be booking her again.

This was my first time leaving my spoiled fur baby, and I was so nervous. April put my mind at ease from our first communication. She provided pictures to let me know Kobe had settled in and was doing well. I now feel comfortable making plans because I know I have a safe place for Kobe when I'm away. Thank you, April

Ilia is an outstanding sitter! She came over and bonded with Tofu prior to our travels. We were also fortunate that he got along well with her two dogs. She provided me with daily updates with pictures. Tofu made himself at home with Ilia and settled in pretty well by the first night. I strongly recommend Ilia to sit your fur baby. She's caring, attentive, communicative, and overall compassionate. I was comforted to know that my dog was in the greatest care in my absence. Thank you, Ilia!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
