“So communicative with us, with lots of great pictures and videos. Looked like Bogart had a great time and got to meet a lot of people and other animals. Really appreciate the high level of care Max gave Bogart!”

“This was my first time using the app, and Estela answered all my questions before I booked. When I dropped off Coco, she immediately went to her. She also sent me pictures and kept me updated on how my dog was doing throughout the day and overnight. I appreciate how much she cares about animals, ensuring they return happy. I was pleased to see my dog happy when she came back, and we will definitely use her services again.”

“We used Jeramy as a last minute sitter when our original plans fell through, and we were so happy with the experience! Our dog can be a nervous with new people, but she loved Jeramy and had a great time during her stay. She also sent lots of pictures and videos to keep us in the loop. We will definitely be using her again :)”

“Mickinley was absolutely great. She was very kind, polite, and full of positive energy. She was also incredibly flexible and willing to adjust to my changing schedule, which I really appreciated. Before the booking, we scheduled a meet-and-greet, and she was happy to come to my home to meet Flash and start building a bond with him. While I was away, she took wonderful care of him and regularly sent me photos and updates, which gave me real peace of mind knowing he was happy and doing well. I would definitely recommend McKinley to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and reliable to look after their pup. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!”

About: I had a dog gowning up and I now have a dog for over 2 years, I understand when you need a little extra help. I've also helped with my friend's puppy when she got her puppy last year. I've always loved furbabies and would look to help you with yours. I work full-time currently, however I work from home on Mondays & Fridays. My weekend are pretty free as long as visits a scheduled in advance. I would go with whatever recommendation you would like for your dog at your home. I will only do visits at my own home if absolutely necessary due to my dog being cautious of other dogs. He's friendly but, it just stresses him out a bit. I can also drop my dog off at my parents home if needed.
“Our dogs are not "just dogs", they are incredibly important members of our family, so even when we have to leave them, they are still always on our mind. It's been especially tough to leave them lately since my older girl Gull is almost 12.5 and we can tell she's slowing way down. So when our previous dog sitter moved away, we were worried about who was going to take her place, especially since Gull took YEARS to warm up to her fully. But then we found Ari and Ame. Within days, Gull and Oakley (our two year old sweetheart) were clearly so comfortable at their house and seemed to be loving the fun playtime with the other dogs who come for daycare or boarding, as well as their own dog, adorable Marshall. Communication was superb, with tons of adorable videos and pictures coming through every single day. And when Gull had a little "medical moment" , Ari was all over it, took great care of her, and got her back to feeling good quickly. She even dropped them back directly at our house when we got a bit delayed at the airport! I don't think I realized previously that I had a low level of anxiety every time I left my sweet girls, but that was gone by day 3 of our vacation when I knew for certain that Ari and Ame were taking care of them as if they were her own--and they were happy and exhausted when we saw them again from all the fun and love they had at their house. Thank you thank you a million times over to Ari and Ame!! We'll be seeing them again soon, I'm sure!”

“Michelle and Stacy were fantastic! I felt completely at ease knowing Ivy was in their hands. They treated her like family, which was exactly what I hoped for. Ivy got along wonderfully with their dog, Stella, giving her a friendly companion while my husband and I were away. A significant plus was how they handled Ivy’s unexpected heat cycle with calmness and efficiency. Despite the early onset of her cycle, we collaborated seamlessly through the app to ensure Ivy could comfortably stay in the common areas. Michelle’s considerate approach left a lasting impression, and I wholeheartedly trust her to care for Ivy again in the future. Thank you, Michelle, Stacy, and Stella for your exceptional care!”

“Ms. Pam is very patient and professional. Thank you for looking after our Sweet Fur Baby Boy Kishon while we were away. She made us very comfortable & sent us pics, and updates on his stay with her. We appreciate all you do. Kishon loves to play with Ms. Pam Sweet Fur Girl Cassie also. He can’t wait for the next stay🐶🦴”

Asha was a fantastic sitter for our pug, Rosy!! From the moment I met Asha, she was warm, welcoming, and kind. Despite Rosy never having been boarded, I knew she was in great hands. Asha followed all of our directions and provided Rosy with the safest and coziest stay! She sent lots of updates and pics, which our whole family appreciated!! I will without a doubt, be booking with Asha again. It turns out, Rosy had as great of a vacation as we did!

The nicest! Phill cared for our dog, he didn't just keep her while we were gone. Thoughtfully communicated how she was adjusting to her new surroundings, and was engaged with her to learn her personality. Our girl is a 50lb Micro Bully and he had no trouble with our lil' tank, adjusting her walks so she could manage the summer heat. We're grateful, Phill. Thank you!

We used Jeramy as a last minute sitter when our original plans fell through, and we were so happy with the experience! Our dog can be a nervous with new people, but she loved Jeramy and had a great time during her stay. She also sent lots of pictures and videos to keep us in the loop. We will definitely be using her again :)

Ilia is an outstanding sitter! She came over and bonded with Tofu prior to our travels. We were also fortunate that he got along well with her two dogs. She provided me with daily updates with pictures. Tofu made himself at home with Ilia and settled in pretty well by the first night. I strongly recommend Ilia to sit your fur baby. She's caring, attentive, communicative, and overall compassionate. I was comforted to know that my dog was in the greatest care in my absence. Thank you, Ilia!

Lily was so kind and accommodating. She took a last minute booking for my boy Kash. My first time booking with her and she was so professional, and kept me informed the entire trip. She was even able to keep him for an extra night when my trip was delayed, and dropped him off for me the next day. 10 out of 10, amazing dog sitter. Thanks Lily:)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
