“Michele was absolutely awesome with Kofi! She kept me up to date with pics throughout the day. He came right in and begin playing and enjoyed himself like he was right at home. She made me feel relaxed 100%. I had no worries while I was away. I will be using her for now on for future boarding. She's awesome and so very sweet and so is her dog quill.”

“Natalia and Edward are fantastic! I’ve used them twice now and have nothing but positive things to say! They’re great about sending daily updates. I will for sure use again!”

“Amazing. Accommodating, kind, I can’t speak highly enough of Christin and James. Multitasking travel and being the mother of an active fur baby takes trust, scheduling, great communication and good care. Christin and James has it all. Sevyn comes home so worn out from her play time with them.”

“Julijai and her family were phenomenal dog sitters! They took such great care of my guy, Eli. He loved running around in their big fenced in yard and playing with their own pups who were around Eli’s age. He came home tired and happy :) Couldn’t have asked for more from Julijai and her family. They were great and I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, loving dog sitter.”

“Sonia and her family were a perfect match for my dog who likes to lounge around. Sonia was flexible with time and my dog seemed very comfortable in her home and around her.”

“Please use this review as your sign to book with Yosef! Yosef was gracious with scheduling, awesome with communication, made sure all dogs in his care were comfortable and cared for. I wish I could drop a picture or video of how happy my bully was to see him and how mad he was to leave. With such a friendly dog, the latter is a key indicator of how his time was. 10/5 stars and a big thank you!”

“Eli took care of our rambunctious Nala girl for 5 days while in the Dominican Republic. We never had to worry about her and got updates of her walks. We can't wait for our next trips in the future knowing we have an expert caring for her!”

“Austin and Majid have watched my dog 3 times and been soooo wonderful. They are loving and considerate of her, and they kept me updated! My dog has some anxiety and behavior challenges, and they were very understanding and patient. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve always taken care of dogs since I was 10 years old. I begged my mom to get me a dog around that time as well. I promised her I would take care of the dog and do all I needed to do. With that being said I became a pet owner and trained my dog all by myself . From the simple commands, and crate training. I love to treat my current dog(Chloe) like a baby. From cuddles, long walks, nice tasty treats and all the love I can possibly give her. Sometimes I do travel and when I do its hard to find someone to keep Chloe. I realized I can’t be the only one who has experienced this . I am new to the app. I am ready to spread the love in my area. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Can’t wait to meet you ! I do work full tine Monday-Friday. I have a Hybrid schedule. I work from home Tuesdays and Fridays . I am open on weekends ! I have a spacious apartment. We also have dog parks in my complex. Lastly my favorite a few different trails/ lakes that I love to walk currently.
“Many thanks to Paul and Amy for their care of our girl, Harper, while we were away for 6 nights. We had peace of mind that she was in good hands. Updates and pictures were always appreciated.”

“Paola took care of my dog Bagel for two weeks over the holidays while I was traveling home to Singapore. She provided regular photo updates and Bagel came back happy!”

“Shaela took great care of our furbabies and was very patient with our puppy Dolly. She treated them as her own and they loved all the extra toys she gave them. Your pets are in excellent care with Shaela.”

“Erika was so amazingly kind and patient. My pup felt so loved and happy as shown by his happy trot every time we arrived. We were very pleased with and blessed by Toby's stay with Erika and her lovely family.”

“Twy had a great stay with them! I love that she gets to have a big backyard, several other animals to play with and plenty of walks. Never a dull moment for her - a true vacation for her. They are great with communication and photos/videos keeping us posted on how her stay is going. Will absolutely be asking them to keep Twy again soon.”

“Kamille was great with Sebastian. Took him for long walks. He had fur companions to play with. He was really clean and seemed to be very content and very happy when I got him back. The daily videos sent to me of my pup assured me that he was well treated. I would give Kamille 6 stars if I could. Joyce”

“Abigail took great care of our aging fur baby. We really appreciated the regular updates and photos. We definitely plan to reach out to her for future dogsitting!”

“When my previous sitter fell through, Malvi and Andrej quickly responded and were able to watch Rook. They were fantastic. Their yard was very large and provided tons of room to run out my dog’s energy alongside theirs. They also sent tons of photos which is always a plus. I’d recommend them to anyone.”

About: I love animals and I have always had a variety of pets (both typical and unique) as beloved members of my family or cherished beings I’ve gotten the opportunity to spend time with. Some of the animals I’ve lived with or cared for include: dogs, cats, fish (salt and fresh), birds, hedgehogs, hamsters, reptiles, rabbits, pigs, and many more! I currently live in Hyattsville with my partner and our 4 beautiful rescue dogs (Havanese-6 y/o, Pomeranian-17 y/o, Husky-12 y/o, and Pittie-8 y/o). Over the years, my diverse and pawfict pack has taught me more and more about pet care. Especially my senior Pomeranian–whom I’ve had the privilege to love since he was a rambunctious puppy–now into his baby grandpa-hood, and hopefully into his twilight years. I look forward to walking dogs and meeting/sitting various pets in our neighborhood. Thank you for considering me to care for your special family member! My schedule can be somewhat flexible - if I know in advance I can change the days/hours I work. I currently work as a substitute teacher and part-time for parks and rec. When I’m working, my partner is usually home. On my off from work days, I’m available to sit and/or drop-in on your pet. On weekends my availability is variable, but I try my best to keep my Rover calendar up to date. My partner and I live in Hyattsville with our 4 dogs (Havanese-Maltese, Pomeranian, Husky mix, and Terrier mix). We have a fully fenced-in backyard and 2 separate living spaces in our home, giving us room for extra pups. Our home has one-step entry in the back, making it great for elderly dogs or dogs with joint problems.

Yasheen was amazing! He welcomed our dog into his home while we were on an 8 day vacation. He sent his first update within one hour and set our mind at ease that our dog was doing well. He sent many pictures and messages to let us know that our dog was safe and having a good time. Yasheen was very responsive and accommodating when our flight back home was delayed. If you are looking for a kind and gentle sitter choose Yasheen!

Crystal is my forever sitter! Every time I get my lil man back he is calm and glowing. He has been coming out of his shell thanks to her loving care and creative enrichment. My shy, old guy even plays tug and initiates play with other dogs now! It’s so great to see this side of him. Thanks Crystal for always taking such good care of Scooter 🙏🏾

So happy to have found Estela. She is very good with Dexter, who is not open to everyone. I go away on vacations knowing that he is in good hands. Estela is wonderful to work with and responds quickly. I appreciate that she lets me modify my booking when needed to extend the time. She stays in contact with photos. I am grateful to have her care for Dexter.
Marissa’s home is so welcoming that my pup settles in just like it’s her own house. She gets to play with her new friends. I know that when I pick her up she’s going to be both excited to see me but sad to leave such a great home! We will continue to have Marissa watch my pup knowing she’s in amazing hands!!

Lily was so kind and accommodating. She took a last minute booking for my boy Kash. My first time booking with her and she was so professional, and kept me informed the entire trip. She was even able to keep him for an extra night when my trip was delayed, and dropped him off for me the next day. 10 out of 10, amazing dog sitter. Thanks Lily:)

Melanie took care of my great Pyrenees and made her feel right at home. I was gone for a week over Christmas break and she had no issues whatsoever. My dog came back happy, healthy, and tuckered out from playing with the other dogs in Melanie's care. Highly recommend this sitter and will be booking again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
