“Yasheen was excellent at communicating and sent updates every day! We felt totally at ease! He went above and beyond and even gave Aki multiple baths during the visit! We will absolutely book him again! Thanks, Yasheen!!”
“Diana and Philipe were wonderful with our two Pomeranians. They made them feel as comfortable as was possible as our dogs become anxious very easily and often. They sent daily pictures and responded to my daily inquiries. The dogs seemed content when we picked them up. Will be using them again.”

“June is a wonderful dog sitter, and I always feel completely comfortable leaving Ollie with her. Ollie is a repeat visitor, which says a lot about how much I trust her and how happy he is in her care. June always has great communication, keeps me updated, and consistently goes above and beyond. It’s clear that she truly cares about the dogs she watches. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring sitter.”

“As always -- nothing but top-notch TLC for Ella when she stays with Alex and Daniel! We couldn't be luckier to be able to rely on them to keep our girl happy, healthy, and loved while we're away.”

“Love Beth T and Bastien for taking great care of my DogBaby! She sent pics every day and loved on him as much as he would allow. I love that her DogBaby shared and played with Atticus! Atti was in great hands. I highly recommend Beth T especially if your Frenchie needs someone great to care for him! Thanks Beth and Bastien❤️❤️”

“Jasmine was absolutely wonderful with Koda and Kyro! She took great care of both of them and kept us updated throughout their stay with lots of photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear they were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and Jasmine was friendly, professional, and attentive to their needs. We truly appreciated the regular updates and could tell she genuinely loves caring for dogs. We would absolutely book with Jasmine again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy sitter. Thank you for taking such great care of Koda and Kyro!”

“We can't rate Geneen highly enough! We boarded our dog Juniper with her twice this summer (for a weekend and for a week). She kept in regular communication and provided many photo updates. Our dog is a little quirky (a lovable weirdo) and Geneen and her husband took her quirks in stride. It was easy to see that the dogs in their care were given plenty of love and activity, and were well supervised. We wouldn't hesitate to board Juniper with Geneen again.”

“Mckinley watched my kitten Cashew over the July 4 long weekend, and she was awesome! A week before Cashew’s boarding stay started, she proposed a phone call to learn all about his care and any concerns I had. She sent consistent updates with photos/videos of Cashew throughout his stay, and he clearly had a blast playing with her cat!”

“Mike and Elise took excellent care of Ethan. Mike was very communicative and flexible which was very helpful as we were traveling. Elise seems like she really loves and cares for the dogs she watches. I trust them to provide excellent care to my dog and would recommend them to anyone looking for a sitter.”
“Sarah was AMAZING with my Pookie!! She was so sweet with her and Pookie was so comfortable and happy. Sarah sent tons of pics and updates and always kept me in the loop! 10/10!!!”

“Mark and his family were great hosts to Raqi. Great communication, a lot of pictures/videos, and she got a ton of exercise and socialization. It was especially appreciated how they were so understanding about our flight being delayed. Will definitely spin the block!”

“Cal and Kelly took great care of our large German Shepherd Loki for his (and our!) first Rover experience. Loki hadn't spent a lot of time with other dogs in close quarters prior to this stay, but Cal put us at ease in our initial meet-and-greet with him and both their dogs. We also really appreciated the regular communication throughout Loki's stay. Cal and Kelly were always super responsive and they sent us high-quality photos and videos of Loki every day playing with other dogs and looking like he was having a great time. Would definitely recommend to others and will be boarding Loki with Cal and Kelly again!”

“Derek and Christina were communicative and provided excellent care for our two dogs, even as one of them experienced a health incident during the stay. Derek and Christina sent daily pictures and updates and managed the health issue very professionally.”

“Geeta has been such a kind and thoughtful caregiver to Doozy - this is our second time using her and we are so pleased. She's very communicative with lots of pictures and details about how Doozy is doing. We'd use her again in a second!”

“Robert and Pam were awesome. We met them and their husky Shiloh and got a gods feeling. We booked an overnight test run and things went great. Sam got a lot of playtime outside and moped all the way home after we picked him up. He was treated like one of the family and is looking forward to returning.”

“Tonya and her family took great care of our baby. They kept us updated with lots of photos. Lola wasn’t feeling well, and they made sure to keep us informed about how she was doing. I highly recommend this family!”

“Asha was so great with my 2 month old, Eni! She prioritized her safety my making sure to wipe her feet after being outside while also make sure she had loads of fun and sent a bunch of pictures.”

“Julijai was amazing with Dakota and I already booked her for the next weekend! Great at communicating but also respecting my time while on vacation. Got lots of pics of my pup and I know she was having a blast!!”

Asha was a fantastic sitter for our pug, Rosy!! From the moment I met Asha, she was warm, welcoming, and kind. Despite Rosy never having been boarded, I knew she was in great hands. Asha followed all of our directions and provided Rosy with the safest and coziest stay! She sent lots of updates and pics, which our whole family appreciated!! I will without a doubt, be booking with Asha again. It turns out, Rosy had as great of a vacation as we did!

It was a long 35 days without our dogs, but they were in good hands with Olivia and her family. My dogs gave Olivia some challenges along the way with eloping, etc. —- probably because they are not used to us being away from them for so long. Olivia handled the headaches our dogs gave her with grace. She was very transparent with things, which we truly appreciate. Thank you!

The nicest! Phill cared for our dog, he didn't just keep her while we were gone. Thoughtfully communicated how she was adjusting to her new surroundings, and was engaged with her to learn her personality. Our girl is a 50lb Micro Bully and he had no trouble with our lil' tank, adjusting her walks so she could manage the summer heat. We're grateful, Phill. Thank you!

We used Jeramy as a last minute sitter when our original plans fell through, and we were so happy with the experience! Our dog can be a nervous with new people, but she loved Jeramy and had a great time during her stay. She also sent lots of pictures and videos to keep us in the loop. We will definitely be using her again :)

Tonya and her family took exceptional care of our Rottweiler, Hero, while we were away on vacation. From the start, they were communicative, attentive, and clearly experienced, which gave us great peace of mind. Hero was happy, well-exercised, and clearly loved during his stay. We especially appreciated the regular updates and photos, which made it easy to relax knowing he was in such good hands. It’s obvious that Tonya and her family treat every pet like part of their own family. We would absolutely trust them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, caring pet sitters.

Marissa’s home is so welcoming that my pup settles in just like it’s her own house. She gets to play with her new friends. I know that when I pick her up she’s going to be both excited to see me but sad to leave such a great home! We will continue to have Marissa watch my pup knowing she’s in amazing hands!!

Lily was so kind and accommodating. She took a last minute booking for my boy Kash. My first time booking with her and she was so professional, and kept me informed the entire trip. She was even able to keep him for an extra night when my trip was delayed, and dropped him off for me the next day. 10 out of 10, amazing dog sitter. Thanks Lily:)

Melanie took care of my great Pyrenees and made her feel right at home. I was gone for a week over Christmas break and she had no issues whatsoever. My dog came back happy, healthy, and tuckered out from playing with the other dogs in Melanie's care. Highly recommend this sitter and will be booking again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
