About: I’ve been involved with pet care my whole life! I’ve volunteered at PAW here in Maryland and worked as a Pet-care Specialist, Dog walker, and Pet sitter for cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, fish, and other small pets. I am knowledgeable in administering medicine to pets, and understanding animal body language. I’m currently doing pet care full-time! When I’m not caring for my own pets, I’m always looking for ways to help people care for theirs! I currently only have weekday availability. I always approach pets with care and respect! I understand that it’s possible for pets to come from all types of backgrounds, and am committed to making your pets feel the most comfortable they can!

About: Hello! I've had dogs all my life and worked as part of a rescue group for part of that time. I love dogs and have a lot of experience taking care of them. I can take them for walks, give them lots of attention and if they take any medication, I have experience with that as well. I'm good with any size dog since I've had a lot of different ones from Cocker Spaniels to Irish Wolfhounds. I don't have any "official" recommendations but I have pet sitted for friends of my family a time or two. I'm also good with multiple dogs, having grown up around 6-12 in my house at any given time, along with multiple cats. I would love to be able to pet sit for you! I currently work from home, so I am able to be flexible when it comes to taking care of your furry family members, rain or shine! I can do doggy daycare in my house if your furry friend gets along with mine, but also more than happy to take care of your pets in your home, whether taking them out for a walk, feeding them, or letting them out into the yard.

About: I've grown up with pets my entire life, and dogs have always been part of my daily routine. I regularly walk, feed, and play with them and would consider myself a natural when it comes to canine companions. In fact, a dog is usually the first thing to greet me when I wake up in the morning! Because I have a dog of my own, and interact with other dogs frequently, I understand their body language and cues, and can thus anticipate their needs and behavior in any given situation. I am patient, kind, and loving in all my interactions with dogs, as they are truly a humans best friend. I look forward to the opportunity to spend time with, and care for, your companions as if they were my own. With 3 dogs and 5 cats, I am well versed in everything from dog park etiquette, to deep litter box cleaning. My daily routine always consists of animal care, from morning until night. With the animals I have in my house, I would prefer to sit at the clients home. I am very low maintenance, and leave no trace of my presence, other than a happy pet waiting for your return.

About: Hello! I am a PhD student at UMD studying black bear ecology. I have been an animal lover since I could talk. I own a German shepherd but I’ve had cats and dogs my whole life. I’ve watched many animals throughout the years for colleagues and friends. I’m new to rover sitting but I am reliable, will be very communicative, and provide the best care to your furry friend. I am a full time student, but I have very flexible hours. I’m open any time on the weekends, as long as I have a few days notice. I can be flexible to your needs! I’ll send you photos, updates on when I am coming and going, follow any rule you have etc. I will care for your animal like my own.

Maura was absolutely wonderful with Duchess! This was my first time leaving Duchess home without me for several days, so I was definitely a little nervous, but Maura made the entire experience so much easier. She was attentive, spent quality time with her, took her on walks, and made sure she was comfortable and well cared for. I especially appreciated how consistent Maura was with sending updates and pictures and letting me know how Duchess was doing throughout the day. I would absolutely book with Maura again. I think Duchess may have officially found herself a new babysitter!

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and cats and have learned how to care, play, and communicate with them through a lifetime of caring for them in my own home. I’ve come to love their little personalities, every pet a distinct individual. I also have experience working in a local pet store and know a great deal about nutrition and treats for pets. I can walk, check in on, or sit for your pet while you’re away in a safe, trustworthy manner. Dogs of all sizes as well as cats are welcome! I hope you’ll consider me today! I’m a full time college student, so my schedule is very flexible. I am most available in the summer and winter, but during the semester I’ll have plenty of time fri-sun and later availability mon-thur! I am able to control rowdy/excited animals on walks and have extensive knowledge in pet diet restrictions. Pet care may seem simple, but I take their safety and security very seriously. If anything unusual happens, you’ll be notified straight away.

About: What sets me apart is the genuine love and respect I have for dogs. I believe dogs are not just pets—they are cherished members of the family. I treat every dog in my care with patience, kindness, and attention, just as I would my own. My goal is to give dog parents complete peace of mind, knowing their fur baby is safe, loved, and well cared for while they’re away. • Puppy training & obedience reinforcement • Senior dog care & medication administration • Positive reinforcement training • High-attention, compassionate care • Reliable routines & clear communication I allow pets on all furniture, my bed, my chairs, couches. I don’t believe that pets shouldn’t be allowed on furniture. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, as I currently have ample time and flexibility to dedicate to dogs in my care. This allows me to provide consistent attention, regular potty breaks, playtime, walks, training reinforcement, and plenty of companionship throughout the day. After recently losing my own dog to kidney failure, I understand deeply how important it is to trust someone with your fur baby. That experience has strengthened my commitment to providing attentive, compassionate care and treating every dog as if they were my own. I’m able to give dogs my undivided attention, whether that means extra comfort for senior dogs, structured routines for puppies, or simply being present to ensure they feel safe, loved, and at ease. My goal is to give dog parents complete peace of mind, knowing their fur baby is receiving the same care, patience, and love I would want for my own.

About: I owned a Pekingese since I was a child who passed away a few years ago. I also walked dogs in the neighborhood since middle school. Since then, I've lived with dogs (including an anxious dog) and have also volunteered dog walking at an animal shelter. I'm a recent law school graduate who will be relocating to Seattle in October for work. In the meantime, I'm completely free to take on work! As for distance and location, I mostly get around by Metro - if you're near a train or bus station, I can get to you. Working with animals at the shelter I've been able to handle dogs who are reluctant to return to kennels or who are a little shy - I'm patient, flexible, and observant!

Lilla has been amazing with our dog and communication with me. Lloyd was having severe anxiety and Lilla communicated with me every step of the way, on his behavior, shyness, and even when he got a bit aggressive towards her. She comforted him and gave him the space and attention he needed as we devised a plan. I appreciated her openness, understanding and thoughtful approach to our dogs needs!

I work from home 5 days per week until 2pm. The children are all home by 5pm when they can walk, feed and play with pets together. I will only care for your dog in my home. About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, piranha, bunnies, turtles and rodents, etc! I have always loved and seen animals as the more primal side of our nature but that’s one of the purest forms of love that one can give! I am currently working full time at NIH, and after about 3:30pm, I work with animals around my community. Weekends I like to volunteer with people struggling with bigger dogs and temperament issues. Walking and leash training is key in my experience. I have a big yard for good time and to keep them safe! I love being outside, and making sure that the animals are safe while doing so is of the utmost importance to me !

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life, and growing up, neighbors and friends would often reach out to me for pet care! I also volunteered at an animal shelter through middle and high school and, in addition to learning how to properly care for animals, I also learned a lot about reading dog and cat behavior and body language. I also have experience giving medication to cats and dogs (even the most stubborn and wriggly of them all), so if your pet requires medication, you can feel confident that they will get it! I mostly work from home and have a pretty flexible working schedule. The chance to get out of my house, go for a walk, or hang out with a cute cat or dog is always a bonus for me! I look forward to the days I get to take care of someone’s pet because it fits perfectly in my schedule, brings me so much joy, and gives me an opportunity to help others out. I can visit your home to give your pets potty breaks, feedings, walks, or quality time. I will make sure your pet gets plenty of play time and interaction over the course of a home visit!

About: I work as an assistant manager at Preston’s Country Club for Pets, supporting daily kennel operations. What sets me apart is the experienced, attentive care I give every pet. I take time to learn their personality, routines, and comfort needs, with hands-on experience caring for puppies, senior pets, and providing gentle medication support. I am currently attending University of Maryland, however I only have class for few hours a day. My schedule for classes are Mondays/Wednesdays 9-11:30 and Tuesdays/Thursdays 10- 12:30. I care for pets in my client’s home by following their established routines to keep pets comfortable and stress free. This includes feeding according to instructions, providing fresh water, walks or exercise, playtime, medication if needed, and plenty of attention and affection. I also maintain the home by cleaning up after pets, keeping food and litter areas tidy, and sending regular updates and photos so owners feel confident their pets are well cared for while they’re away.

About: I've owned my own personal pets for the past 8 years, including a snake, dog, and cat. I've also worked with a variety of species in my educational, personal, and professional life. I work summers in a high-stress environment (clinic/boarding facility) where I am responsible for the day-to-day needs, grooming, and occasional medicating of animals. I own my own animals, so get hands-on-experience with animals everyday! Additionally, as a pre-veterinary major at UMD, College Park, I learn not only the practical ways to work with them, but the scientific reasoning behind why animals do what they do. I also work with them professionally during the summer, when I am not at school. I will not provide services from my home (due to owning my own animals, family at home, etc.). However, any rules set by the owners would be followed to the letter, and I am also extremely capable of making choices in the best interest of both animals and people involved in situations, due to my history of involvement with animals!

About: I have over 3 years experience walking and pet sitting on Rover, and have been the primary pet caregiver for my household, including 3 dogs, for over 12 years. I love showering pets with tons of affection and play, but also respecting them as animals to give them the proper care they need. I’m pretty comfortable with dogs of all sizes and can do feeding, walking, or drop ins to sooth anxiety. Right now I care for dog Lola, and when she’s not around I’m making new fur friends around Patterson Park. I know that your dog is not just a pet, but a cherished member of your family, and let’s be honest it really does takes a village, so I’m here to be part of your pet support team and treat them with with love, respect, and exceptional care. I’m currently self employed and working from home. I know that life can be unpredictable, so I offer flexible availability whether you require daily walks or last minute appointments I can be there to make sure your pet has the care and attention they deserve. Constant Communication with you, the pet parent, is essential as I believe transparency and trust are the building blocks to a successful partnership and positive experience.

About: I have years of diverse experience caring for animals of all sizes and temperaments. I have successfully managed everything from turtles and small Yorkies to large, powerful breeds like Cane Corsos and Perro de Presa Canarios. Whether your pet is a playful kitten, an energetic puppy, or a calm adult cat, they are in safe hands with me! Specialized Training & Behavior Skills I specialize in helping energetic or anxious pets thrive. I’ve fostered a high-energy dog who struggled with indoor accidents, intense barking, and jumping. Through patience and consistency, I successfully: House-trained her to transition off pee pads to going completely outdoors. Socialized her to significantly reduce barking at strangers, children, and other animals. Used daily walks and mental stimulation to redirect her energy and curb jumping. Animals naturally sense my calm energy and tend to bond with me instantly. I’m looking forward to giving your pet(s) the loving, individualized, attentive care they deserve! Early mornings and evenings are currently best for me during the week and anytime on weekends; however, I am willing to negotiate and work with you if you let me know you and your pet(s)'s needs. My goal is to satisfy the needs and comfort of each owner and pet. If your pet enjoys company, I am able to provide that.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Greenbelt with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
