I’ve also provided husbandry for praying mantises used in college research, which taught me to be consistent and attentive to an animal’s specific care requirements. 🐾 Future Goals I intend to pursue a career working directly with animals and am currently working toward enrolling in a vet tech program. Caring for pets is something I genuinely enjoy and take seriously, and I’ll treat your pets with the same care and attention I’d want for my own. I’m currently taking some time away from school while looking for permanent employment, so my schedule is fairly flexible right now. I’m generally available in the mornings and afternoons, especially between 9 AM and 4 PM. I also have pets of my own, so caring for animals is already a regular part of my daily routine. I’m happy to work around you and your pet’s usual schedule and needs. 🐾 I make sure pets are comfortable, safe, and able to stick to their normal routines as much as possible. In a client’s home, I follow their instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any household preferences. 🐾 I pay attention to each pet’s personality and energy level, giving them space when they need it and plenty of attention when they want it. I also keep their areas clean and make sure they have fresh food and water. 🐾 Since I have pets of my own, I understand how important it is to feel comfortable leaving them in someone else’s care. I treat every pet with patience and the same level of care and attention I would want for my own.

About: We grew up with dogs and love having them around. We enjoy opening up our home and taking care of some furry friends and have a ton of experience dog sitting. We foster dogs through a local rescue, so we're confident any DC dog could be comfortable in our home. We have a 4 year old lab mix who likes to host playmates, but is also respectful of dogs' space if they prefer to have a leisurely stay with us. We're able to work on any training and will crate your dog upon request, or give them access to roam depending on your preference! Most importantly, we have experience handling behavior issues like leash reactivity and separation anxiety, please mention those when booking so we can be prepared to make your dog feel the most comfortable they can when they're away from home. We understand that leash reactivity and dog aggression are different, so while we can sit for a dog that's leash reactive, we unfortunately cannot host a dog that is dog aggressive. If there are any training methods you've been working on with your dog, let us know, and we'd be happy to ensure we are reinforcing the training you've been working on with your dog. Please note: dog-boarding does not mean we will be home 100% of the time and we are happy to discuss your expectations and our boarding set up. For boarding (half days may result in an additional fee. example: saturday 8am drop off and a sunday 10pm pick up is 1.5 days). We can be flexible knowing that delays can happen when traveling!

About: I would love for you all to know about my experience with pet sitting, so I would like to start with a quick story. When I was turning five, my grandpa took me to a pet shop the day before my birthday. After feeding the neighborhood cats and playing with the stray puppies, I just knew I’d come home with a dog of my own that day. I was elated — that is, until we left and I was the owner of a bird. As a five year old, I was disappointed! But I grew to love the bird as I realized I loved other animals. And by the time I turned 12, I finally did have pup of my own. I tell that story to say, I have years of personal experience caring for pets, whether they were my own or not. In my family home, we currently have an elderly dog and a teenaged cat - in my apartment, we have a one year old kitten. I love pets of all ages and sizes and I can’t wait to meet you and your fur baby! You can trust that I’ll give them lots of love and cuddles in your absence! I’m currently working from home, so my schedule is pretty flexible - the main thing I’d have to take into account is commuting! Once I’m there, I’ll have tons of time to spend with your pet, or take them on as many walks as needed. My goal is to make sure you and your pet are happy and comfortable throughout this process! If your pet seems overwhelmed or nervous with me at first, I’ll know how to read this body language and I’ll give them the time and space they need to open up to me. If they want cuddles, they can have as many as they need! I’ll communicate openly with you to ensure your comfort level and trust, and I’ll make sure you and your pet are my top priority!
