“Grateful for Jayne’s help with a short sit on relatively short notice. I really appreciated that she spent quality time with my pup and stayed until close to my return, especially given my dog’s nervousness about lingering fireworks. She also sent helpful updates. Thanks, Jayne!”

“Megan put our mind at total ease when we went on vacation. She’s the best with our *ahem feisty and strongly opinionated cat. Megan was the BEST house sitter and provided us with tons pictures and updates of the cats which we of course obsessed over. She is so wonderful with our cats and was an extremely attentive sitter as always. Not sure what we’d do without Megan!! I highly recommend her!”
“Tristen is hands-down the best pet sitter we’ve ever had. It is incredibly hard to find someone you trust completely with your animals, but Tristen makes it easy. They are super dependable, detail-oriented, and excellent at keeping us updated while we’re away. It is such a relief to travel knowing the crew isn't just being taken care of, but truly loved. Our pets absolutely adore Tristen, and we’ll definitely be keeping them on speed dial. If you want someone responsible and genuinely sweet, look no further.”

“Maniyha was an incredible sitter to my dog, Bailey. She stayed with him at my place for a long stay and gave daily updates with lots of pictures. Plus she left my home completely spotless. I will absolutely use her again for dog sitting!”

“Keaton did a fantastic job sitting for our 3 cats. They were so attentive to the instructions we left, understood each cat’s different needs, and made sure to send regular, detailed updates and photos. It gave us such peace of mind to know Keaton was there with our cats - the best experience we’ve had with a sitter on Rover so far.”

“Gabz was awesome to work with. From our first meet and greet to the last message after we are back home from a weekend away Gabz was easy to talk to and very friendly. The pups loved their walks and chill out time with Gabz. Thank you, Gabz for cleaning up Balto’s vomit. Five stars for that!”

“Katherine took great care of our Fur Family. She kept us updated and sent cute pictures of our pitbull and 2 cats. When we arrived home we were greeted with a beautifully written note, clean sheets and towels and happy fur babies. Above and beyond! Thanks Katherine!”

“Zada was excellent at communicating with us throughout the time she watched Ursa. She sent so many great photos! She followed our care instructions well and was attentive to Ursa’s needs.”

About: I’ve always lived with pets in my home and love spending time with them. Previously, I’ve helped watch my sister-in-law’s senior cat and have lots of patience with all animals. I’m currently between jobs so I’m very available to spend as much time as needed with your pets! I also love going on walks frequently throughout the day. Currently, I only live with a cat and she is quite independent. I’ve watched a few of my friend’s dogs and am able to stick to a routine for food and walks. I’m naturally a very detail-oriented person.
“Once again, our pup had a great time with Christina! Christina communicated throughout the house stay -- asking good questions and providing some great pictures of playtime. Thank you, Christina!”

“Really great. Lots of pictures. Extremely responsive and good with the pets. House was immaculate (cleaner than I left it, which was unnecessary but very kind). Would definitely book again.”

“Kim has watched our kitties a few times now. She went above and beyond for one of our kitties when he got sick while we were traveling and needed to go the vet. We so appreciate her and everything she does.”

“Monica was absolutely wonderful with Luna! She kept us updated throughout with photos and check-ins, so we never had to worry. We’ll definitely be booking with Monica again.”

“We have a very high needs dog with anxiety issues and Sharon not only was able to take the best care of him while we were gone but even became best friends with our pup. She clearly cares about animals and shows it. We would highly recommend her and would love to have her come watch our dog again!”

“We can’t say enough good things about Jacqlyn, the only dog sitter we trust with our pup, Max! Her care is exceptional— attentive, loving, and professional. Max adores his time with Jacqlyn and her dog Awoo, who’s become his best buddy. Jacqlyn’s communication is top-notch, keeping us updated with photos and messages that put our minds at ease. She’s responsive, reliable, and treats Max like family, ensuring he’s happy and well-cared for. We’re so grateful to have found her and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, fantastic dog sitter!”

“Great communication and awesome with my oldish (12.5+ yrs) pets!!! I’m a veterinarian and would book Juliann again in a second. If she has availability on Rover while she pursues her veterinary degree do not hesitate to book her to take care of your fur babies!!”

“Hannah was great! She sent a ton of pictures and was very communicative and spent a ton of time with the pets 😊 We will definitely book with her again.”

“Maria was absolutely fantastic. I loved that she came over for a meet and greet before the sitting. She was always on time and very communicative. Most importantly Halo loved her so much. Maria was so kind and gentle and sweet with Halo. She was really attentive to her needs. I will 1000% be booking her again.”

Nadia has truly been amazing with Brooklyn and has gone above and beyond every single time she cares for her. As someone who works long 13 hr shifts, having a sitter I can genuinely trust and feel comfortable with means everything to me. Nadia communicates with me throughout my shift, sends updates, and is incredibly proactive and diligent with Brooklyn’s care. She has honestly eased so much of my anxiety when I’m away because I never have to wonder how Brooklyn is doing. What I appreciate most is the amount of thought and effort she puts into making sure Brooklyn is completely taken care of before I get home. By the time I walk through the door after work, Brooklyn has been walked, cared for, and settled, and everything is in order to the point that I can literally come home and go straight to sleep. That level of consideration is invaluable to me. She has also been incredibly helpful throughout Brooklyn’s potty-training process. She’s always willing to offer thoughtful tips and feedback, and she even took the initiative to create potty-training logs to track Brooklyn’s pees and poops while in her care so that we could better understand her routine and progress. Nadia doesn’t just “watch” Brooklyn….she genuinely invests herself in her care and development. And after hiring other sitters in the past, you can definitely tell the difference between the care that others give compared to the care that Nadia gives. She is attentive, communicative, thoughtful, reliable, and consistently goes the extra mile. I’m incredibly grateful to have found her and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pup 🥹💗

Elise took wonderful care of Albert while we were away! She sent lots of pics and updates, and he seemed very happy and comfortable with her. She also took great care of our house and left it cleaner than it was before we left. We'd happily recommend Elise to anyone in need of a kind, caring, responsible pet sitter! Thanks, Elise!
It's our third time with Erica and my cat loves her!! She is very accommodating and understanding of anxious pet parents, and provided reliable care for my cat and responded to my check-ins. My cat appears not stressed at all upon my return after a whole week, which is such a wonderful surprise!!

Megan is an excellent pet sitter! She is very attentive to our dog who is older and requires medicine. She took time to reintroduce herself to our dog so that our dog would be comfortable with her while we were away. Megan is very professional and sends great updates. We can tell our dog was happy and well taken care of. Megan puts a lot of care into her work and we would highly recommend her!

Maria was absolutely fantastic. I loved that she came over for a meet and greet before the sitting. She was always on time and very communicative. Most importantly Halo loved her so much. Maria was so kind and gentle and sweet with Halo. She was really attentive to her needs. I will 1000% be booking her again.

We could not be more thankful to Meghan for taking such incredible care of our pups! She was attentive, followed our pup’s routines, and was extremely communicative; providing thorough updates complete with pictures of the pups throughout our time away from them. She made sure to keep our dogs comfortable in their own home while making us at ease while we were away. We will absolutely use Meghan’s services again in the future!

Tyette was fantastic. She sent us pics of all the dogs several times during the week, and offered to stay later on the last day in case our flight was delayed (it wasn't). She knew to keep the dogs inside during the smoke/air quality alert from the Canadian forest fires. We would absolutely hire her again.

Elizabeth took great care of our two Germans shepherds, two gerbils, and one hamster, while we were on vacation. We came home to very happy pets and a clean home. Elizabeth has a very kind, warm energy and our pets instantly loved her (even our easily anxious puppy), and she took great care of our older dog with medical issues.

Sean was absolutely fantastic! He watched our two Goldendoodles, Leo and Milo, for a full week and did an amazing job taking care of both the dogs and our home. He was extremely communicative throughout the entire stay, sent us regular pictures and updates, and always made sure to ask if there was anything else he could do to help while we were away. We came home to two happy, well-cared-for dogs and a house that was in great shape. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Leo and Milo were in good hands while we were gone. We would absolutely trust Sean to watch them again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and thoughtful sitter!

Danny was great! Our dog loved him... he had lots of walks, plenty of play time, and stayed on schedule for feedings, medicine, and bedtime. Danny was also a great houseguest... you couldn't even tell anyone had been there when we got home! We'll definitely book with him again. Thanks, Danny!

Sharon was fantastic with our anxiety-ridden pit bull mix, Cookie. She snuggled with Cookie whenever she needed some extra TLC and made sure she got both a morning and an afternoon walk. From the moment we met Sharon, it was clear she has a natural bond with animals that is hard to define. She is easygoing, calm, and, most importantly, updates you daily with a brief summary and pictures of your pet. I would love to have her dog sit again and will definitely recommend her services to friends in the future!

Gabz was awesome to work with. From our first meet and greet to the last message after we are back home from a weekend away Gabz was easy to talk to and very friendly. The pups loved their walks and chill out time with Gabz. Thank you, Gabz for cleaning up Balto’s vomit. Five stars for that!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in University Park on Rover is $44.8 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 11,245 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across University Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred University Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in University Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in University Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
