“Tommy is quiet and calm and communicative and seems to be unflappable and very capable when it comes to pet care. Am happy to have found him and will happily entrust my three dogs with him again.”

“Our dog Suki had a wonderful first stay with Rebecca. She was very generous with her time ahead of his visit and agreed to meet up twice so he could get used to her. She sent regular pictures and updates during our trip, took him on trail walks, and asked thoughtful questions about his diet. We would definitely book with her again!”

“Candice is fantastic! She was so accommodating with my drop off/pick up times, and communicating with her was so easy. Max seemed super happy when I picked him up, which is all any dog owner can ask for! When I need to leave Max again I hope Candice will be available, and I highly recommend her to those of you who need someone to watch your pups!”

“This was our first time leaving our “Livi” with a sitter! Abigail was TERRIFIC!!! From the moment we met, we felt that Livi would be in good hands. She surpassed our expectations! She communicated frequently and sent pictures which moreover made us more comfortable. We highly recommend her and would not hesitate to use her in the future. Thanks again, Abigail!”

“Daniel was great once again! Hudson was very well taken care of and had a lot of fun - I got pictures and updates to prove it. Daniel was easy to work with and communicative, I would recommend him anytime”

“Kamille and the krew were amazing!! Hudson was so well taken care of, evident by the updates sent and picking up a happy and tired pup 🐶 would recommend Kamille to anyone looking for great dog care and peace of mind!”

“Crystal is such a thoughtful and caring sitter! Every time I take Scooter he comes out of his shell more and more. It’s been amazing watching him blossom. I’m so grateful to have found Crystal. She is a blessing to me and my furbaby!”

“Jeneffer was a great sitter for my little Pomeranian. She answered all of my questions, took great care of my dog and sent me some cute photos. I would absolutely have Jeneffer watch my dog again. Thank you!!!”

“I’m tempted to give a bad review, so no one discovers June. 😀 But … She is always fantastic with Quincy, and he seems very happy with her. For the second time in the last few months, we had to change our pickup date, and June was extremely understanding.”

“Yelena was very welcoming and did a great job providing daily pictures of my dog playing with the other dogs. She was diligent in insisting on an initial meet and greet with Lola and their dog to ensure that they would get along ok. They had a nice fenced in back yard, and their kids both loved dogs and gave our dog the attention and love that she's used to.”

“Pascaline is incredible. We just her watch our 7 year old Elvis for over a week, and she sent daily photos, videos and updates. She even made her own dog cookies. Thanks Pascaline for taking such great care of Elvis. Elvis looked so at home with you and cannot wait for his next visit.”

“Rachel did a wonderful job with our high energy puppy over Thanksgiving! She kept him busy at the dog park and sent us pictures of their adventures. We know our pup had a great time with her and we'd definitely book with her again.”

“Payton and her husband were awesome! Our dogs had such an incredible time with them, they almost didn’t want to leave. They provided updates regularly and lots of mental stimulation and walks for our pups. Can’t wait to use them again!”

“We were in a bit of a jam finding someone to watch our pup Stella ahead of our vacation, and we're so happy we found Pamela! Stella had a great time running in the yard, snuggling, and playing with dog friends. We felt very comfortable knowing she was in good, caring hands. We will for sure use Pamela again the next time Stella needs to go to puppy sleep away camp!”

“Sam & Tracy were awesome caregivers for Ernie. They maintained excellent communication with us and met all of his needs. Upon pick-up, it was apparent that he had been very well taken care of. We are so thankful we found Sam & Tracy, and so is Ernie! Thank you both so much!”

“Our pup had an incredible doggy sleepover at Jordan’s! We could tell from her multiple photos and updates and how wiggly our dogs tail was when we picked up him that he was well cared for. 10/10 would recommend and book her again!”

“Michele and her family were excellent! Their home was very welcoming and comfortable for my pup Cleo. Michele was experienced and was able to handle all the love and energy my dog could provide. She was also communicative and went above and beyond what was required of her. I'm pretty she even groomed and bathed my dog. Cleo came home happy and clean! I would highly recommend Michele and I look forward to using her services again.”

“Toni was amazing!! I have a young puppy that stayed with her over Thanksgiving weekend and he literally whines and cried as we pulled off and left her house. She was very attentive to my (and my puppy’s) needs, she was very communicative before the stay and during the stay Witt pictures every day, and my Bane loved to hang out with her Ozzie! Would 10/10 recommend booking Toni. Your pups would be in great hands with her!”

“Definitely my best boarding experience! Sadie had a fantastic time with Malvi & Andrej!! She had so much fun running around with the other pups and getting excellent care. Their home and beautiful backyard are the perfect spot for pups. I was extremely impressed with how attentive they were to each dog's needs, including Sadie's sensitivity to heat given her thick coat. I could tell that they treated Sadie with the same love and care that I show her at home. It was also very comforting knowing that they spend the majority of their time at home with the dogs so the dogs get a lot of supervision. Also superb communication with several picture updates each day. Definitely recommend them and will be using them again!!! Thank you!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - University Park
Our dogs are not "just dogs", they are incredibly important members of our family, so even when we have to leave them, they are still always on our mind. It's been especially tough to leave them lately since my older girl Gull is almost 12.5 and we can tell she's slowing way down. So when our previous dog sitter moved away, we were worried about who was going to take her place, especially since Gull took YEARS to warm up to her fully. But then we found Ari and Ame. Within days, Gull and Oakley (our two year old sweetheart) were clearly so comfortable at their house and seemed to be loving the fun playtime with the other dogs who come for daycare or boarding, as well as their own dog, adorable Marshall. Communication was superb, with tons of adorable videos and pictures coming through every single day. And when Gull had a little "medical moment" , Ari was all over it, took great care of her, and got her back to feeling good quickly. She even dropped them back directly at our house when we got a bit delayed at the airport! I don't think I realized previously that I had a low level of anxiety every time I left my sweet girls, but that was gone by day 3 of our vacation when I knew for certain that Ari and Ame were taking care of them as if they were her own--and they were happy and exhausted when we saw them again from all the fun and love they had at their house. Thank you thank you a million times over to Ari and Ame!! We'll be seeing them again soon, I'm sure!

Thank you both so much for taking such wonderful care of Simba while I was away! I truly appreciate the care and attention you gave him. From all the pictures you sent, I could tell that Simba was very comfortable, relaxed, and happy with you. It gave me such peace of mind knowing he was in a safe and caring environment and enjoying himself while I was away. Thank you again for making Simba feel so welcome and well cared for. I would definitely use you again and would happily recommend you to others looking for someone they can trust with their dog. Thanks again for taking such great care of my Simba! 🐾❤️ Karla

Mike was great! He was very responsive, sent regular updates, and was super accommodating when I had some last-minute schedule changes. Most importantly, he made my dog feel comfortable and right at home, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. I really appreciated how easy and stress-free he made the whole experience. I also loved that he boarded my dog by himself which can be hard to find sometimes. I’ll definitely be booking with Mike again!

Absolute lifesaver! Aniya saved the day by stepping in for a last-minute request and took absolute best care of Bruno. Very responsive, attentive and clearly loves animals. Came home to a happy dog. Couldn't ask for a better sitter—10/10 recommendation! Thank you!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
