Choosy Dogs Choose Jeff

In between acting gigs I Have opened my home to taking care of other dogs. In 2004 my husband and I adopted 2 rescue dogs. We lost one (our sweet girl Marcy) to Cancer in March 2019 so we opened up our home to lovable dogs to help fill the hole she left in our hearts. As of March 1, 2020 we unfortunately, sadly said goodbye to our second dog, Ted, a 16-year-old diabetic terrier (also to cancer). Very familiar with administering medication including insulin injections. I love to play with dogs, take them for walks/hikes and I always accept their kisses. I have a great fenced-in yard for them to play in. All I ask is your dog have all it’s necessary shots, be housebroken, and get along with other dogs. When I’m not doing acting gigs I’m home to give full attention to your dog. Doing daycare I will be home all day but if boarding a dog (especially multiple days) it should be a given that I’m allowed outings from time to time. So, please, make sure your dog can be alone at least 3-4 hours.

Murphy can be very skittish around new people, but he absolutely adored Jeff. Jeff was very accommodating with time which worked well because we were visiting DC. He helped make our trip here so much better because we knew Murphy was in good hands. Highly recommend!

Always pleased with Jeff’s care of our Marley. Jeff accepts and tolerate’s our miniature Dachshund’s quirks and personality and we are so grateful for Jeff. He is always our number one choice 😊

Jeff was great! He welcomed and cared for Rufus (still full of puppy energy/behavior and absolutely no off button!) with an abundance of affection and understanding. I highly recommend Jeff!

Jeff is kind and patient with pups and people. He's been a gift to my elderly, anxious dog.

Schedule

Unless I’m cast in something, I’m home pretty much. I do walk a dog Monday-Fridays from about 12:55-1:35pm, though. In the past I’ve let clients know if I have a function/prior engagement to go to. Then, unless you bring a cage, I’ll keep them contained to one room. With water, toys, and classical music playing.

Safety, trust & environment

Fenced-in yard. They sleep with me in the guest room. I give them a lot of attention. Unless they need me to back off. :)

A typical day

Do a lot of hiking in Greenbelt, Lake Artemesia, Great Falls, and other nearby hiking trails. Love throwing a ball around the yard, even if they don’t fetch :)

Besides being housebroken, I prefer dogs who don’t mark in the house. I’ve had a few do this even after many walks or trips to the backyard. They HAVE to get along with other dogs. I tend to watch 2-3 at a time. Small to medium dogs (30 POUNDS OR LESS IS MY PREFERENCE). This pandemic has messed up lots of dogs and my clients have been very pleased that I can get dogs to interact with each other in a controlled environment.
