“Jameha + 1 was great. Very communicative (sent me updates, included pictures and videos when contacted). GEORGEv seemed to be happy and was in great spirits when I came to pick her up. Also, not to mention, I was able to get Jameha the night of the booking I needed.”
“Mickinley was absolutely great. She was very kind, polite, and full of positive energy. She was also incredibly flexible and willing to adjust to my changing schedule, which I really appreciated. Before the booking, we scheduled a meet-and-greet, and she was happy to come to my home to meet Flash and start building a bond with him. While I was away, she took wonderful care of him and regularly sent me photos and updates, which gave me real peace of mind knowing he was happy and doing well. I would definitely recommend McKinley to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and reliable to look after their pup. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!”

“Erin watched Kiwi and Belsh for a couple of days and they had a great time! Erin was super communicative, sending pictures and updates, and was flexible with timing on pick up and drop off. We would use her again in the future!”

“My dog stayed with Valeria for 3 nights, we had no issues. I felt comfortable with his stay, never felt worried or concerned, and was able to enjoy our weekend away. She took excellant care of him.”

“Patience is outstanding! Warm, compassionate, and caring, with consistent communication and videos throughout our dog’s time with her. She went above and beyond with our extreme flight delays, and she is simply a wonderful human being and fantastic dog sitter. Will absolutely book her again!!!! What a life saver and wonderful person all around.”

“Toni was amazing!! I have a young puppy that stayed with her over Thanksgiving weekend and he literally whines and cried as we pulled off and left her house. She was very attentive to my (and my puppy’s) needs, she was very communicative before the stay and during the stay Witt pictures every day, and my Bane loved to hang out with her Ozzie! Would 10/10 recommend booking Toni. Your pups would be in great hands with her!”

“Austin and Majid took great care of our dog, Maisie over the holiday. They were amazing at keeping us in the loop, and Maisie came home happy and healthy.”

“Beanie and I loved working with Rita. She is very kind, attentive and communicative. When I picked Beanie up, he did not want to leave. He had a great time! We will definitely be repeat clients.”

“Maryjo was a great sitter! She kept us updated with pictures of Kailey and was incredibly responsive. She was helpful with Kailey’s medication schedule and understood the needs of a nervous dog. Thank you so much!”

“We had an all around great experience with Danielle. She is very kind, clearly understands dogs, and provided several updates (relatedly, she is very responsive). It didn't take long upon meeting Danielle to know that my dog would be safe and happy. We definitely want to use Danielle's services again.”

“It was such a pleasure meeting Fany! And took great care of Jade!!! I am so happy to know that Jade was being cared for by someone who knows how to care for little dogs!!!”

“Our very social and attention-craving lab mix loved his stay with Natalia and Edward. We were out of town for seven days and received adorable pictures of him playing with their dog, lounging in the living room, or romping with the family. We especially liked the big backyard that allows for built-in outdoor space and the very walkable neighborhood which allowed for going further afield. It was clear they perfectly understood what our Milo needed and were more than happy and ready to accommodate. Relieved we’ve found a go-to Rover we’d be happy to use again. Highly recommend.”

“Anne Marie took such great care of Danny, she was patient and kind to him as a senior dog and just loved on him! I will definitely be asking Anne Marie to care for him again when I need it.”
“Tommy is quiet and calm and communicative and seems to be unflappable and very capable when it comes to pet care. Am happy to have found him and will happily entrust my three dogs with him again.”

“Amazing! My dog and I are joined at the hip and I don’t love leaving her just anywhere! Rouday was so kind and my dog took good care of him right away. His flexibility and graciousness with me almost stood out more than his professionalism and care with my dog. Highly recommend!!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Brentwood
Madeleine was absolutely fantastic. She kept in touch and sent us photos of our cat everyday. I really appreciated that she sent photos of him cuddling up to her, because then I knew he felt comfortable and safe with her. Madeleine was quick to respond to any questions and followed through on everything we agreed to while we were gone. I can wholeheartedly recommend Madeleine to other cat families and will definitely work with her again!

Cayleigh was incredible with our dog Homer! She was flexible with pick up and drop off times when our schedule got a little crazy. She was very communicative and gave us constant updates and pictures of Homer. All in all Cayleigh was great! She made Homer feel right at home!

Our dogs are not "just dogs", they are incredibly important members of our family, so even when we have to leave them, they are still always on our mind. It's been especially tough to leave them lately since my older girl Gull is almost 12.5 and we can tell she's slowing way down. So when our previous dog sitter moved away, we were worried about who was going to take her place, especially since Gull took YEARS to warm up to her fully. But then we found Ari and Ame. Within days, Gull and Oakley (our two year old sweetheart) were clearly so comfortable at their house and seemed to be loving the fun playtime with the other dogs who come for daycare or boarding, as well as their own dog, adorable Marshall. Communication was superb, with tons of adorable videos and pictures coming through every single day. And when Gull had a little "medical moment" , Ari was all over it, took great care of her, and got her back to feeling good quickly. She even dropped them back directly at our house when we got a bit delayed at the airport! I don't think I realized previously that I had a low level of anxiety every time I left my sweet girls, but that was gone by day 3 of our vacation when I knew for certain that Ari and Ame were taking care of them as if they were her own--and they were happy and exhausted when we saw them again from all the fun and love they had at their house. Thank you thank you a million times over to Ari and Ame!! We'll be seeing them again soon, I'm sure!

Thank you both so much for taking such wonderful care of Simba while I was away! I truly appreciate the care and attention you gave him. From all the pictures you sent, I could tell that Simba was very comfortable, relaxed, and happy with you. It gave me such peace of mind knowing he was in a safe and caring environment and enjoying himself while I was away. Thank you again for making Simba feel so welcome and well cared for. I would definitely use you again and would happily recommend you to others looking for someone they can trust with their dog. Thanks again for taking such great care of my Simba! 🐾❤️ Karla

Angel-Lea took excellent care of my two feline furbabies while I was traveling! She was communcative, sent updates and pictures, and made sure my cats got plenty of snuggles & affection in addition to their physical needs (food, water, litter). She paid attention to their moods & behavior, making sure they felt safe without pushing them to interact before they'd adjusted to their new surroundings, and they loved her! She was even flexible and gracious when my return flight was delayed, and it was so reassuring to know that my girls were in great hands with her while I was trying to get back to them. 10/10 would recommend Angel-Lea!

Another great booking with Janay! My dog is generally so scared of meeting new people and staying with strangers, but he warms up to her so fast every time and lets his bubbly personality shine through. He seemed very well taken care of during his week-long boarding. Will be booking with Janay again in the future!

Our experience with Fabian was great. Our Masha seemed really having enjoyed it her time with him. She's unfortunately not very social, when with us, but her time there demonstrated she could happily share a backyard and some time with many other dogs with no problem whatsoever. That was amazing to see in all videos Fabian shared over the time. He took care of Masha's health and was open to share his views. Many thanks Fabian for your amazing hospitality.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
