“Nicole was absolutely amazing. So kind, thoughtful and attentive. We had to worry about nothing while she was caring for our babies. I would highly recommend to anyone and we will definitely be booking in the future”

“Best sitter I've ever had! Emma went above and beyond in taking care of my cat, who had unexpected multiple teeth extraction surgery less than a week before I went on vacation. She took great care of my cat - even handling his medications like a pro. I would not hesitate to book Emma's services again.”

About: Hi, I’m José! I recently graduated from Rutgers University and moved to the DMV area to pursue a career in public service. I grew up surrounded by animals, so caring for pets has always been a natural and important part of my life. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust to keep your pet safe and loved while you’re away. I’m responsible, patient, and happy to follow your pet’s normal routine, whether that includes walks, playtime, feeding, medication instructions, or simply keeping them company. I know every pet has their own personality and needs, and I’ll take the time to make sure they feel comfortable with me. I’d be happy to be your pet’s new best friend while you’re away! I currently work a 9-to-5 schedule about four days a week, which gives me plenty of flexibility to spend quality time with your pet. I’m available for boarding on weekends, as well as select weekdays with advance notice. I always try to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for, whether they’re staying in my home or I’m visiting them in theirs. I follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, bathroom routines, and any other preferences their pet may have.
“Megan was absolutely fantastic. She was able to help us out last minute walking our dog and took great care of him! She gave him lots of attention and belly rubs, and we felt at ease knowing that our dog was getting such great care. As a bonus she even gave our cat lots of attention and played with him too! Can’t wait to use Megan again.”

“Kristina, was above and beyond with Max! This was our first time leaving Max with someone else and I loved the great communication, pictures, and I felt at ease with her work! Thank you for everything!!”

“We have an older cat who needs medication and a high energy younger cat. Keaton always does a fantastic job with each of them. Keaton is very communicative, organized, and flexible—thank you!”

“Great sitter! Nicholas was reliable, communicative, and took great care of Smokey while I was away. I felt comfortable knowing he was in good hands and would definitely book again!”

“Jared was fantastic with our crew! We have a dog and cats who are pretty wary of strangers, but he was so patient and totally respected their boundaries. He eased in slowly and the results were great—everyone was happy and relaxed. The communication was awesome, and we loved getting all the updates. Plus, a huge extra thanks for cleaning up some cat vomit on our bedspread while we were out—definitely went above and beyond!”

“Michael was amazing! When there were issues accessing my apartment, Michael communicated quickly and clearly with me. He was very flexible and made sure Brady was taken care of! Would definitely trust Michael to watch Brady again.”

“We loved Delina and our cat loved her too! Delina is a great communicator, on time, and honestly very easy to talk to. Highly recommend her and will be hiring her for pet sitting again in the future!”

“Your fur baby will be well looked after of with Daniela. She is very caring, thoughtful and has excellent communication and follow through. My dog fell in love with her. I was able to go out of town and feel confident that my girl was in good hands!”

About: Hi! I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up with a dog taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, and providing a loving environment for pets. I’m an active, dependable person who enjoys long walks and spending time outdoors on walking trails, so making sure your dog gets plenty of exercise and attention comes naturally to me. Whether your pup loves a leisurely stroll or has lots of energy to burn, I’ll make sure they feel safe, cared for, and loved while they’re with me. I understand that pets are family, and I’ll treat yours with the same care and respect I’d want for my own. Pet care fits very well into my weekly routine because I have a flexible schedule and plenty of availability. This allows me to provide reliable care, accommodate last-minute bookings when possible, and give each pet the time and attention they deserve. I unfortunately do not have a yard at my residence but I am more than happy to take care of your furry friends on your home
“Lisa is wonderful with my cat, she is reliable and spends lots of time playing with him and giving him love while I’m away. I highly recommend!”

“Landy has been walking our dogs every day for the last weeks and we are so happy. One dog recently had ACL surgery and requires some support on her walk and Landy does a great job managing that situation and providing them with daily love. She sends pictures and is really easy to work with. Best of all, the pups clearly love her.”

“Lindsay is awesome! On time and super communicative. Her comfortability with Kai and overall experience is very comforting and Kai loved her. Looking forward to booking again soon!”

“I cannot recommend Iris highly enough! She was so kind and patient with my timid pup. She took extra time to make sure my dog was comfortable and cared for. My dog really enjoyed her visit with Iris and I loved working with her. I look forward to booking her again!”

“For the third year Sharmily made sure Kitkat was well taken care of while we went on vacation. We were gone for two weeks, when we returned, Kitkat was still the happy cat we left. Thanks a million Sharmily, could not have been possible without you. Have a great summer.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Brentwood
When my cat sitter fell through right before a trip over a holiday weekend, I was nervous to use Rover for the first time but Yuliya made it easy! She was open to a last minute request and was even able to set up a meet and greet on the same day. She was very professional, attentive, and asked great questions to ensure we were set up for success. She completed 3 drop ins over the weekend and sent lots of photos and updates which were perfect while I was away. My cat is shy but warmed up to her, partly due to Yuliya’s patience and respecting her space. I would definitely book with her again!

Megan did drop in visits for us for a whole month while we were out of town and she was awesome! Really easy to communicate with, kept us updated on our chatty cat and was overall extremely reliable and consistent with the quality of reports on her drop ins (always included info about our girls attitude, litter and food updates). We feel beyond lucky to have found someone trustworthy like Megan. Can’t recommend her enough!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brentwood. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
