âJulie checked in on my cat Olive for about a week and did a great job. She sent nice updates and photos each day. Ollie's happy to have made a new friend. I'll re-book Julie in the future!â

âAlexandra is an exceptionally pleasant and reliable pet sitter. She visited every day as scheduled, fed both indoor and outdoor cats, refilled water containers, and kept the litter boxes tidy. Alexandra kept me updated with notifications and photos of her visits. Upon my return, I found my house free of any cat odors, and everything was exactly as I had left it. She is a fun, loving sitter, and I highly recommend her.â

âBrian is awesome. My cat seemed happier than usual when I returned home from a week's vacation - Brian took the time to play with him and even clean up the litter he tracks all over the place. I highly recommend him!â

âDiana came at short notice to meet all my rescue dogs with their quarks. She took the time to get to know them and allow them to warm up to her. She was flexible and very easy to work with. She sent me updates letting me know I didnât need to worry about my babies while I was away. I would recommend her if youâre looking for a caring and compassionate sitter.â

âI can't say enough good things about Sarah! She took amazing care of my cat while I was awayâfeeding, playing, and even sending daily updates with photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. When I came home, my cat was relaxed, happy, and clearly well cared for. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable cat sitter!â

About: I've loved animals my whole life, back to the days of summer camp at the National Zoo. I've walked many different dogs through watching friends' and neighbors' pets and volunteering at local animal shelters. I'm also a cat lover who has had cats in the house my whole life, and I even have some experience with pet fish! Animals of all sizes and personalities will be well-loved when spending time with me. :) Added bonus: I'm an excellent pet photographer, so I promise I'll get your furry friend's best side! I'm on summer break from school starting June 19, 2026, so I'll be available most days (including daytime, evenings, and weekends) unless I'm traveling! Before then, I'm available evenings and weekends. My priority is making sure your pet is safe and feels safe with me. I will always ensure your animal has food and water, bathroom access, and protection from other animals. I'm happy to accommodate any pet-specific concerns, too -- I have lots of experience with reactive dogs and will discuss your pet's needs before I spend time with them. I'm committed to spending as much time as needed making sure an animal feels comfortable with me.

âLayla is AWESOME SAUCE!! My kitties are typically "anti-humam other than mommy", but one of my kitties actually made contact with her several times. Layla is very sweet, she's observant, she's thoughtful, she's polite, and she genuinely loves and cares for animals. I'm so happy I was able to find her to look after my babies while I was away. I wasn't worried one bit because I knew she was dropping in on them while I was gone, and she took very good care of them!â

âAstrid is wonderful! She made us feel very comfortable to leave our cats with her. She would always go above and beyond and send us so many pictures. We will be booking with her again!â

âKarleigh took our drop in request on short notice and was super responsive and flexible throughout the week. We felt very confident leaving our cat in her care and she went above and beyond to make sure we came back to a clean house and a happy cat.â

About: Hi! My name is Renee and Iâve been taking care of animals for most of my life. I grew up in a household with many different kinds of pets including dogs, rodents, and reptiles. I currently own two small dogs, Shih Tzu and Maltese mixes, one is 13 and the other is 3. I love all animals and am comfortable with them all. Iâm currently unemployed so I have tons of time to care for and play with your furry friends! Iâm mostly available on weekends as I have responsibilities weekdays, but Iâm very flexible! I have a fenced in yard. I would keep my dogs separate just as a proactive measure since they are small. In your home I would care for your precious pet how you see fit!

About: I have been caring for dogs since the age of 11, starting with my own pets. I also briefly worked in a dog grooming salon. I love walking and animals! I am a full-time student who has a lot of time on her hands! I am available after before and after work. Available anytime on the weekends as well. I am happy to do thorough research to ensure your pet's specific needs are met and they receive the best possible care. Rest assured that I will go above and beyond to make sure your beloved pet receives the utmost care and attention. I will take the time to carefully research your pet's unique needs and preferences in order to provide tailored care that meets their individual requirements. You can trust me to provide your furry friend with the best possible care, always.
âErica, we want to thank you so much for taking excellent care of our 4 cats. Erica was checking in on our cats twice daily for the week we were on vacation. She arrived right on schedule each day and fed and cared for our cats, and before checkout sent pictures from each visit. When we arrived home our pets were happy and well cared for, thanks to Erica. I highly recommend Erica to anyone who is looking for a reliable, honest and trustworthy caretaker for your pets.â

âI am absolutely thrilled with the exceptional care Megan provided for my fur baby, Logan. It was evident that Megan went above and beyond to ensure not only his physical comfort but also showered him with love and attention. Regular updates, complete with adorable photos (more than just one photo for each visit), and heartfelt messages about Logan and Megan's time together (staying the full slotted 30 minutes!), kept me connected and reassured throughout my time away. Megan's professional and caring communication was remarkably reassuring, giving me peace of mind. I wholeheartedly recommend Megan to anyone in search of a loving and trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you, Megan, for being an angel to Logan! You are a keeper!â

About: I've always wanted a dog but I never got a chance to have one growing up since my mom was allergic. Now that I have my own place I've realized that my true passion is taking care of other peopleâs dogs. I have my own reliable transportation and would be able to drop in for visits or walks. I am currently working full time in healthcare. The days I work vary but I do work 12 hour days 3 times a week. If one or more of the days you are requesting falls on one of my work days, your pet would have to be okay going without a bathroom break for up to 8 hours (I have a family member at home that would be able to take your pet for a walk while I am working). For boarding I live in a one bedroom townhouse with a fenced yard that is away from the main road. If you would like to board your pet with me, I will still be respectful of all the rules/boundaries you have for your pet at home (not allowed on the furniture, no people food, etc).
About: Iâm a dog dad of 3, Iâve grown up around all animals. I love my children and I want to be able to help people take care of theirs if they need it. Sometimes I like to bring my wife along to help, if youâre not okay with this please let me know and Iâll make sure itâs only me. Iâm currently going to online school which leaves me with a lot of extra time for extra work such as Rover. Outside of taking care of my own babies. I am able to do stop in visits to take care of your fur babies for either a walk, to let them out, or to give them company for some time if they need it.
About: I work as an assistant manager at Prestonâs Country Club for Pets, supporting daily kennel operations. What sets me apart is the experienced, attentive care I give every pet. I take time to learn their personality, routines, and comfort needs, with hands-on experience caring for puppies, senior pets, and providing gentle medication support. I am currently attending University of Maryland, however I only have class for few hours a day. My schedule for classes are Mondays/Wednesdays 9-11:30 and Tuesdays/Thursdays 10- 12:30. I care for pets in my clientâs home by following their established routines to keep pets comfortable and stress free. This includes feeding according to instructions, providing fresh water, walks or exercise, playtime, medication if needed, and plenty of attention and affection. I also maintain the home by cleaning up after pets, keeping food and litter areas tidy, and sending regular updates and photos so owners feel confident their pets are well cared for while theyâre away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Greenbelt
Layla took great care of our cat Mosey. She was very attentive and gave great, detailed notes on how Mosey was doing. Layla communicated with us throughout the week we were gone and our cat kitty was very happy with Laylaâs company. I definitely recommend Layla for pet care.

Julie is truly a dogâs best friend! Sheâs incredibly warm, patient, and genuinely understands that every dog has their own unique personality, quirks, and triggers. She takes the time to build trust with each dog and makes them feel comfortable and safe. Sheâs also an excellent communicator, keeping us updated and giving us complete peace of mind. We always know our dogs are in the very best hands with Julie, and we couldnât recommend her more highly!

We really appreciate Sarah being able to drop in on our cats with very short notice due to an emergency trip we had to take. Our kitties took to Sarah right away even though they have shied away from strangers before. I hope Sarah won't be a stranger to them for long because we will definitely request her as a sitter for any future trips we will take.

Ashley was absolutely amazing! Our cat, Smokie, can be pretty shy with new people, but Ashley connected with her so beautifully. By the second or third day, Smokie was more playful and even excited to see her when she came by. Ashley gave us thorough updates, photos, and thoughtful check-ins that really put us at ease. The way she tuned into Smokieâs needs and her gentle, attentive approach made all the difference. We highly recommend Ashley to anyone looking for a caring and reliable cat sitter. We will definitely be using her again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
