About: I've cared for a variety of pets, including cats, dogs, reptiles, and rabbits. I've been lucky enough to live with several wonderful pets, including special needs dogs, and currently share my home with two wonderful cats. I currently work early mornings, with a fairly flexible schedule. I am currently available for afternoon and evenings, but with notice, I can also provide morning check ins. I have the utmost respect for clients' pets and homes and I want to do everything I can to seamlessly integrate pet care into your routines.
About: I’ve had two wonderful dogs since they were 10 weeks old. We’ve completed dog training classes together and I’ve learned all about pet care through them. Im currently working from home and never travel because I have a toddler son and 2 dogs, so im often available on weekends for pet care and during the week for walks I have two friendly dogs to keep your dog company and a large house for plenty of play space. I’m also experienced with picky eating dogs.
About: What sets me apart is the personal attention and genuine care I bring to every pet. I’m patient, dependable, and attentive to each animal’s unique personality, routines, and needs. I’m comfortable caring for both dogs and cats, including pets who may be shy, older, or need a little extra patience and attention. I treat every pet as if they were my own. I am available to board pets most days of the week. I spend most of my time studying at home and I’m available during most days for a walk or a visit. I have a large fenced yard and live in an area with lots of parks and walkability. I also have some limited availability to care for your pet in your own home if desired.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 12. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. My clients get to travel calmly, knowing their loved one is in safe hands. I am great with pets that require a lot of attention. I give them the love and affection they need to feel at home. I live in a house of animal lovers in a safe suburban neighborhood. It has dog parks and trails and lots of sidewalks. I also have a gated and decent-sized backyard for supervised potty breaks and playdates, so your pet will never be left alone. I am available any day to care for your fur baby. I will make sure they are fed, walked, and loved as if they were my own 🥰 I follow the feeding schedule and provide a frequent supervised potty break and playtime. I am a big animal lover, and the comfort of your pet is my priority.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs from everywhere! Neighbors and friends count on me to feed and play with their pet as if it’s my own! I’m currently available on weekends all day and weekdays after 1pm. I am working on building my career so I have plenty of time between planned obligations. I have an apartment so I only offer pet walking and house sitting. My complex has a “no pet” policy. I enjoy long walks and resting with pets.

“Gabrielle was very responsive and they were accommodating of my wanting an initial meet/greet introduction. They let me know when they arrived and again when wrapped up the walk; gGreat service. Thank you!”

“Alex was great. Communication was excellent, provided pictures, and took very good care of our pups. Made being away less stressful. I do recommend him, and will use his services again.”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and cats and have learned how to care, play, and communicate with them through a lifetime of caring for them in my own home. I’ve come to love their little personalities, every pet a distinct individual. I also have experience working in a local pet store and know a great deal about nutrition and treats for pets. I can walk, check in on, or sit for your pet while you’re away in a safe, trustworthy manner. Dogs of all sizes as well as cats are welcome! I hope you’ll consider me today! I’m a full time college student, so my schedule is very flexible. I am most available in the summer and winter, but during the semester I’ll have plenty of time fri-sun and later availability mon-thur! I am able to control rowdy/excited animals on walks and have extensive knowledge in pet diet restrictions. Pet care may seem simple, but I take their safety and security very seriously. If anything unusual happens, you’ll be notified straight away.

About: I’ve owned dogs since I was a kid, 4 dog . Now as the father and family man we’ve had 2 since dogs. I love my dogs and my daughter loves her cat. I’m currently on furlough and my daughter is taking community college classes. I would work from home 3 days a week once furlough is done. I keep my dog in the house. About: I am an animal lover and have had various types of animal companions throughout my lifetime. Currently I am the Farm operator for our Urban farm. We raise ducks and chickens but they are always separate from visiting pups. Only within view for their entertainment and relaxation here on the farm. Yes we are located nearby in the city 🥰 I have a quiet understanding with most animals that I come across and enjoy their company. I have sat for many of my friends and family and am the go to person when someone needs to go out and about but cannot take their pet family members. I am currently focusing on dog sitting and have dedicate my time to being available to meet as many fur babies as I can in the next couple months. I have a room dedicated to pet care which has a greenhouse feel with plants but is fully enclosed in the home. It has a doggy door which leads out to our fully fenced back yard and large dog run with a insulated dog house inside. I also have a wireless camera on the areas which allow me to make sure that everyone is ok at all times. Please note that I no longer accept large breed dogs at this time aside from past clients. I am currently focusing my time on pet sitting. I am always also checking in via webcam on the pups wherever I am. Dog personalities are so amazing and fun to see. I have a double fenced yard to keep your pets safe. Lots of open dog crates and bedding for snoozing. A dog door that allows them some freedom and a large dedicated outdoor dog area for doggie playtime. They also always have access to fresh cool water.
About: Hello! I've had dogs all my life and worked as part of a rescue group for part of that time. I love dogs and have a lot of experience taking care of them. I can take them for walks, give them lots of attention and if they take any medication, I have experience with that as well. I'm good with any size dog since I've had a lot of different ones from Cocker Spaniels to Irish Wolfhounds. I don't have any "official" recommendations but I have pet sitted for friends of my family a time or two. I'm also good with multiple dogs, having grown up around 6-12 in my house at any given time, along with multiple cats. I would love to be able to pet sit for you! I currently work from home, so I am able to be flexible when it comes to taking care of your furry family members, rain or shine! I can do doggy daycare in my house if your furry friend gets along with mine, but also more than happy to take care of your pets in your home, whether taking them out for a walk, feeding them, or letting them out into the yard.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - New Carrollton
Alexander was very quick to respond. Enjoyed our meet and greet. Our dog loved him and his wife right away! He is very detailed with information about his outing/walks with our dog with pictures and a trail map of his route. I would use him again without a problem!

Denisse did a great job learning how to use Hoover’s harness and by the second day they were off and walking on their own. I really appreciate her flexibility and willingness to work with his mobility issues. It helps a lot! She’s a great communicator, very kind and clearly cares about doing a good job.

Jeramy was a life saver! Came at the last minute for me after another walker cancelled. We had a little trouble with the lock but she was so patient and figured it out! I was out of town so I was glad to be reassured she made it in to walk the boys. Thanks again Jeramy!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
