“Asha did a great job taking care of my cat Shiro! We had her do overnight in home care taking and she did an amazing job. Followed all instructions to the T, kept my place tidy and Shiro was well cared for. He takes his time getting used to new pet sitters however he did end up cuddling with Asha near the end of her visit. She also kept me regularly updated with pictures and a quick summary!”

About: I have taken care of friend’s pets since I was a child as a side hustle. I pay close attention to the details of you and your animal’s specific needs to provide the easiest time possible. During the school year I am a grad student at UMD and can be very flexible. During the summer I work in office full time but am free after 6:30pm and on weekend. I promise to take care of your pet as if it were my own. I aim to offer your pet the most comfortable environment as possible, and be as communicative and flexible with you as I can.
“Pond watched my two cats and one dog at my house and was absolutely amazing! Sent the cutest pictures, very responsive and left our house spotless. My animals were very happy and I will definitely have pond take care of my many animals again!”

“Alexandra took wonderful care of my adult dog and puppy. She bonded with the dogs right away, sent plenty of photos and updates, and provided the dogs with lots of attention. She is great at communicating and gave us peace of mind during a couple of busy days of medical appointments. We have already booked her again!”

“Sometimes you’ll only know if the Sitter was great by how the dogs react when you walk through the door. I’m happy to say that after being gone on vacation, I came home to two very calm and happy dogs. In the past, I’ve had sitters where when I’ve come home the dogs were uneasy and full of anxiety. So it’s really important to know that the dogs are calm and we’re not stressed out while we were gone. It takes a dog person to be able to give this kind of love. I’m so thankful.”

About: Quill, in my profile picture, was a pandemic rescue. He is now around 6 years old and super friendly. He's even great with cats! I am more available for dog walking after school is out, at the end of June. I do housesitting as well, but I will need to bring my dog with me. So far that has been good for other people's dogs and they love the company. I am married, and you will see pictures of my husband and my Stepson with the dogs too. Jonathan and Keegan are also dog magnets and enjoy playing and spoiling the dogs and the occasional cats I sit for. I have been watching dogs in my home and walking dogs in my neighborhood for many years. I started by putting up a sign at the Greenbelt Dog Park until someone told me about DogVacay, which is now Rover.com. I have been hooked ever since. I am very skilled at giving pills to dogs and cats and can even give subcutaneous injections as needed (per diabetics). I also have experience with blind and deaf dogs. I mostly accept 1 dog at a time, but will accept 2 dogs from the same family as long as my dog is not overwhelmed with them. I give a special discount for the second dog from the same family. If you need me to keep your cat/cats, or bird at my place, I will not book any dogs at the same time as to avoid undue stress. (Yes I have had cats stay too! LOL). Please allow enough time to schedule a Meet-N-Greet so we know your dog, my dog, and I are a good fit. I do not accept dogs that are not spayed or neutered. Sorry:( I am working full time until June 17th, therefore I only accept dogs on the weekends until school is out. I just updated my summer schedule so there are more opportunities for walks, house sitting, and daycare. July is pretty open for now. I have a fenced patio that the dogs enjoy hanging out on. I do not have a yard, but my Condo is very large and there is plenty of room for the dogs to play and take breaks from each other. I do not take dogs off leash unless I know the dog very well and we are in a safe area such at the dog park or dog beach. I will only take your dog on excursions with your permission. My dog loves to go to the farm and the dog beach, but that's not for everyone. ;)
“Sean did a great job dog/house sitting for me. He asked lots of questions and took notes during the meet-and-greet so that he could provide the best possible care for the dogs and house while I was gone. He made sure to check-in with me every day while I was gone and provide photos/updates during his time with my dogs. He handled my anxious/sick dog perfectly and cleaned up messes he shouldn't have to without a complaint. I will definitely use Sean again in the future.”

“Couldn’t have asked for better care for our cat and dog. Marcus was reliable with updates/photos/videos and left our house really clean. Would love to have him house sit for us again!!”

“Izcali stayed with our two dogs while we were away for a weekend. The dogs had a great time and enjoyed cuddling with her on the couch and playing in the backyard. Thank you, Izcali!”

“Karleigh was great! Lolah finally warmed up to her, and sometimes cats act weird around strangers, but Karleigh was great at breaking the ice! Really appreciate you Karleigh! Hope to have you over again! Thanks!!”

“Cora was an excellent sitter that got Ozzy and Dee out for many walks. They loved her and she was attentive and an extremely good communicator which put our minds at ease. Definitely will look to book again and highly recommend to all pet owners!”

“Pongo, our 70+ pound handful, and Paul, our cat, present challenges, especially as a pair, and I always worry about them. Both require medication, and Pongo has developed stomach problems when we've gone away in the past. Shania immediately put me at ease. Pongo—as I said, a handful—relaxed with her right away. We returned from our trip to two healthy, happy pets. I'm very grateful to Shania.”

“Aliyah watched my four pets (2 cats and 2 dogs) for 6 days while I was out of state and she was amazing! Some of my pets are elderly and have some medical issues. Aliyah followed all my instructions and went above and beyond when there was a little bit of an issue towards the end of the vacation (just dogs being dogs, nothing Aliyah did wrong or could have prevented). I will absolutely utilize her services as long as she offers them!”

“Jessica took amazing care of our home and our kitty while we were away. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was well cared for. She sent pics and updates and communicated clearly. I would highly recommend her to anyone. Thank you Jessica!!”

About: I’ve taken care of many family pets ranging from dogs to cats to snakes. Most dogs and cats being seniors and one cat having three legs. For the senior pets, I played with them to get them a little active every once in a while. As for the snakes, I kept a close eye on them as they slithered around, made sure they’re enclosure was clean and even helped with their skin shedding process by gently holding their tail as they continued to slither forward. I mostly have a free schedule, so I wanted to use my free time to relieve pet parents and assist them with their duties. I know looking after high energy or senior/special needs pets can be difficult, and I want to lend my hand to help ease the work load if you’re a new pet parent and learn how to take care of your furry companion to ease your worry if you’re a seasoned pet parent I’ve diligently monitored my family pets to secure their safety. I have experience looking after very young and elderly animals. With puppies they require additional attention so I would have mats lined around their cages so the floors wouldn’t get sticky. For the elderly cats and dogs I would have alarms set for the time they needed their medication.

About: I've always had a special spot in my heart for animals. Growing up, my neighbors would ask me from a young age to check in on their pets. Eventually, I got my first dog, Bruno, and fell in love with him. I'm experienced in caring for sick dogs, as Bruno suffered from kidney disease in his last few months of life. Now, I'm about to graduate from college, and while I don't have a dog of my own here, I miss my furry friends back home dearly. I truly believe caring for a pet is a gift that gives back as much joy and love as you put into them. I'm excited to meet you and your pets and love them as my own! I currently work part-time, fully remote. My life is super flexible, so I'll certainly have plenty of time to devote to caring for your pets. I live in a house with a yard and a big walking trail nearby. My yard is not gated, so I always take animals out on a leash. I have 4 roommates who love animals just as much as I do. With 5 people in our house, someone is nearly always home. My house has stairs, but the main floor is all one level.
“I can’t say enough good things about Corraly! She’s been an absolute lifesaver for me and Cloud. From day one, they showed so much care, patience, and a genuine love for dogs that I felt completely at ease leaving my pup in her hands. Cloud always comes back happy, well-exercised, and honestly a little extra spoiled. She goes above and beyond to make sure my dog’s routine is followed, and they send me the cutest updates and photos, which truly puts my mind at ease.”

New Carrollton pet parents share their Rover experiences
Meg was great with our pup while we were away for Thanksgiving week. She house sat for us, handled all care instructions to the T, and gave our pup lots of attention and play. It was great to come home to a happy pup and a clean, neat house, just as we left it. She was communicative and provided regular updates. We won’t hesitate to use Meg again!

Daniel continues to provide peace of mind that our dog Zoe and our home are in great hands, allowing us to actually relax on our vacation. Even with more challenging medication and dietary needs this go around, everything was handled with the same professionalism as always.

I can't recommend Emma highly enough! From the moment we met, it was clear that they genuinely love and understand dogs. Our pups, who can be a little shy with new people and one 16 years…warmed up almost instantly — which never happens! Throughout the entire stay, Emma went above and beyond. She kept us updated with photos and adorable little notes about what our girls were up to. Whether it was playtime in the yard, snuggles on the couch, or rests it was obvious our girls were not just cared for — they were loved. When we returned, our pups was happy, healthy, and clearly had the time of their life. It gave us such peace of mind knowing our girls were in the hands of someone so responsible, kind, and attentive. If you're looking for someone who will treat your pet like family, look no further. Emma is a true gem!

Sarah was amazing with our high energy dog and his feline brother. We found Sarah at the 11th hour when our other pet sitter fell through and the stars aligned! Sarah is organized, communicative and most importantly phenomenal with animals. Our pup cozied right up to her and made our week away stress free. We will absolutely be using Sarah again and feel so lucky to have found her!
