Jayne watched our two dogs for three nights while we were out of town. One of our dogs is anxious and takes some time to warm up to new people but Jayne didn’t bat an eye during the meet and greet. It’s clear she has experience handling a wide variety of temperaments and Winnie warmed up to her quickly. We came home to two very happy dogs and a clean house. Grateful to have found a trustworthy person who seems to enjoy connecting with a variety of doggy personalities.

Tristen is hands-down the best pet sitter we’ve ever had. It is incredibly hard to find someone you trust completely with your animals, but Tristen makes it easy. They are super dependable, detail-oriented, and excellent at keeping us updated while we’re away. It is such a relief to travel knowing the crew isn't just being taken care of, but truly loved. Our pets absolutely adore Tristen, and we’ll definitely be keeping them on speed dial. If you want someone responsible and genuinely sweet, look no further.

I'm so glad that Majdoline was able to watch my dog and house-sit over the weekend. She was very quick to respond to any messages and gave several updates throughout the day with a ton of pictures, I never had to worry about a thing. She spent lots of time both giving my dog attention and letting her run around and play in the yard. She left everything in the house very neat and clean as well. I would absolutely ask her to pet-sit for me again!

I had the pleasure of meeting Aliyah during a meet-and-greet for my puppy, Asparagus, and I was very impressed. She was kind, knowledgeable, professional, and has a genuine love for animals. Asparagus had only been home with me for a few days after coming from a farm, so he’s still adjusting to city life and was understandably shy. Although he didn’t fully warm up to Aliyah, he did allow her to take him for a walk, and she was incredibly patient and respectful of his pace. Aliyah also shared some great tips to help keep him calm and settled, which I truly appreciated. This visit was simply to help them get acquainted, and I’m confident they’ll build a wonderful bond over time. We look forward to having Aliyh care for Asparagus in the near future. I highly recommend her!

I cannot say ENOUGH good things about Paola. Our senior dog, who has cancer, was very ill when we left on a trip -to the point where we considered not going. But Paola put us at ease and took INCREDIBLY good care of her. She truly went above and beyond - not only making sure that she got all 8 of her daily pills but also trying all kinds of different foods to get her to eat, figuring out how to get her more enthusiastic about going on walks, and more. She kept us constantly updated and could not have been more attentive. And she left our house in great shape too. Thank you Paola!!

Chandler did a fantastic job watching our Maltipoo at our home while we were on vacation. She was with him for 11 nights. As others have mentioned, she leaves the house better than how we left it. I am a helicopter dog mom and I asked for lots of photos and updates before we left and she delivered. She is also witty and takes the best photos and provides g funny updates. We would use her again and again. .

About: Hi! My name is Renee and I’ve been taking care of animals for most of my life. I grew up in a household with many different kinds of pets including dogs, rodents, and reptiles. I currently own two small dogs, Shih Tzu and Maltese mixes, one is 13 and the other is 3. I love all animals and am comfortable with them all. I’m currently unemployed so I have tons of time to care for and play with your furry friends! I’m mostly available on weekends as I have responsibilities weekdays, but I’m very flexible! I have a fenced in yard. I would keep my dogs separate just as a proactive measure since they are small. In your home I would care for your precious pet how you see fit!

Tyette was fantastic. She sent us pics of all the dogs several times during the week, and offered to stay later on the last day in case our flight was delayed (it wasn't). Sean was absolutely fantastic! He watched our two Goldendoodles, Leo and Milo, for a full week and did an amazing job taking care of both the dogs and our home. He was extremely communicative throughout the entire stay, sent us regular pictures and updates, and always made sure to ask if there was anything else he could do to help while we were away. We came home to two happy, well-cared-for dogs and a house that was in great shape. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Leo and Milo were in good hands while we were gone. We would absolutely trust Sean to watch them again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and thoughtful sitter!

Bryanna was great - very very kind and great with our two cats! She was able to help us a bit last minute and took all of our directions in stride. The cats really liked her and she took excellent care of them while we were away for almost a week. We needed drop in visits and I loved the photo updates she gave each time. She also was willing to look after our disabled gecko, so I highly recommend Bryanna if you also need someone to check in on your reptile!

Khariss was incredible, and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. She was available for a last-minute dog watch, and from the start, communication was clear, timely, and thoughtful, which gave me real peace of mind. She genuinely cares about making sure your pet feels safe and comfortable. My dog can be a little particular, but Khariss handled everything with patience and attention to detail. FAQs for House Sitting - Berwyn Heights

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Berwyn Heights on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 11,339 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Berwyn Heights. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Berwyn Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Berwyn Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Berwyn Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Berwyn Heights. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
