“Olivia was a wonderful sitter for our three cats. We arranged her service at the last minute after our regular sitter was unavailable. Our cats immediately took to her as she lovingly extended her hand to meet them. They were fed, litter boxes were cleaned and they were calm when we returned. Great communication and it was a nice touch to get photo updates! I can highly recommend her service!”

“What a great first time experience on Rover with Astrid! She was friendly, communicative and thoughtful; her love for animals really showed. Thank you for taking care of our Mellow!”

“Lolah loves Ademide, and that says a lot since my cat does not warm up to any sitter or guest. Pet owners, rest assured that Ademide will respect your home and be your pet’s best friend! Book Ademide with confidence!”

“Kristina, was above and beyond with Max! This was our first time leaving Max with someone else and I loved the great communication, pictures, and I felt at ease with her work! Thank you for everything!!”

“Jane took great care of our elderly cat, including giving her multiple medications when the cat struggled with being alone. It was a great relief knowing how well Jane was taking care of our pet.”

“Layla is AWESOME SAUCE!! My kitties are typically "anti-humam other than mommy", but one of my kitties actually made contact with her several times. Layla is very sweet, she's observant, she's thoughtful, she's polite, and she genuinely loves and cares for animals. I'm so happy I was able to find her to look after my babies while I was away. I wasn't worried one bit because I knew she was dropping in on them while I was gone, and she took very good care of them!”

About: Hello! I've had dogs all my life and worked as part of a rescue group for part of that time. I love dogs and have a lot of experience taking care of them. I can take them for walks, give them lots of attention and if they take any medication, I have experience with that as well. I'm good with any size dog since I've had a lot of different ones from Cocker Spaniels to Irish Wolfhounds. I don't have any "official" recommendations but I have pet sitted for friends of my family a time or two. I'm also good with multiple dogs, having grown up around 6-12 in my house at any given time, along with multiple cats. I would love to be able to pet sit for you! I currently work from home, so I am able to be flexible when it comes to taking care of your furry family members, rain or shine! I can do doggy daycare in my house if your furry friend gets along with mine, but also more than happy to take care of your pets in your home, whether taking them out for a walk, feeding them, or letting them out into the yard.
“Trish was very punctual for the meet and greet as well as the walks . She was very communicative. We have been trying to find a walker that worked well with Marlin and Trish is it ! We loved all the pictures.”

“Kay truly goes above and beyond. She’s great at communicating and always keeps me in the loop, which gives me so much peace of mind. Even when I forget something last minute, she’s more than happy to help without any stress. I always know my kitties are well taken care of, fed on time, and have fresh water. I never worry when they’re with her.”

“Maria was so wonderful with our cat Lucy. Lucy is a bit shy but I could tell from the pictures and videos Maria sent me daily that Lucy was comfortable and having a a great time with Maria’s company. Maria was very reliable and even showed up for us on Thanksgiving Day. She sent me a report every day to let me know how the visit went and how Lucy was doing. We hate leaving our Lucy alone for a few days but it was a great comfort to know she was taken such great care of by Maria while my daughter had to go out of town. I will definitely use Maria again if we need a pet sitter in the future and I’m so grateful for her wonderful care of our sweet Lucy.”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and cats and have learned how to care, play, and communicate with them through a lifetime of caring for them in my own home. I’ve come to love their little personalities, every pet a distinct individual. I also have experience working in a local pet store and know a great deal about nutrition and treats for pets. I can walk, check in on, or sit for your pet while you’re away in a safe, trustworthy manner. Dogs of all sizes as well as cats are welcome! I hope you’ll consider me today! I’m a full time college student, so my schedule is very flexible. I am most available in the summer and winter, but during the semester I’ll have plenty of time fri-sun and later availability mon-thur! I am able to control rowdy/excited animals on walks and have extensive knowledge in pet diet restrictions. Pet care may seem simple, but I take their safety and security very seriously. If anything unusual happens, you’ll be notified straight away.

About: I’ve been involved with pet care my whole life! I’ve volunteered at PAW here in Maryland and worked as a Pet-care Specialist, Dog walker, and Pet sitter for cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, fish, and other small pets. I am knowledgeable in administering medicine to pets, and understanding animal body language. I’m currently doing pet care full-time! When I’m not caring for my own pets, I’m always looking for ways to help people care for theirs! I currently only have weekday availability. I always approach pets with care and respect! I understand that it’s possible for pets to come from all types of backgrounds, and am committed to making your pets feel the most comfortable they can!
About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was young! I’ve had one cat, 2 birds, and currently have a cute doggy! I love love love spending time with dogs and am willing to adjust to any special needs or attention your pet requires! I work part time as a Behavior Technician, so I will definitely have a lot of time to play with and tend to your cute pups! I currently have a pup at home, she’s super shy at first but extremely sweet and docile! Perfect if your pup gets along with others! If your pup needs to be taken care of alone, I do have another house to house them!
About: I work as an assistant manager at Preston’s Country Club for Pets, supporting daily kennel operations. What sets me apart is the experienced, attentive care I give every pet. I take time to learn their personality, routines, and comfort needs, with hands-on experience caring for puppies, senior pets, and providing gentle medication support. I am currently attending University of Maryland, however I only have class for few hours a day. My schedule for classes are Mondays/Wednesdays 9-11:30 and Tuesdays/Thursdays 10- 12:30. I care for pets in my client’s home by following their established routines to keep pets comfortable and stress free. This includes feeding according to instructions, providing fresh water, walks or exercise, playtime, medication if needed, and plenty of attention and affection. I also maintain the home by cleaning up after pets, keeping food and litter areas tidy, and sending regular updates and photos so owners feel confident their pets are well cared for while they’re away.
About: I've owned my own personal pets for the past 8 years, including a snake, dog, and cat. I've also worked with a variety of species in my educational, personal, and professional life. I work summers in a high-stress environment (clinic/boarding facility) where I am responsible for the day-to-day needs, grooming, and occasional medicating of animals. I own my own animals, so get hands-on-experience with animals everyday! Additionally, as a pre-veterinary major at UMD, College Park, I learn not only the practical ways to work with them, but the scientific reasoning behind why animals do what they do. I also work with them professionally during the summer, when I am not at school. I will not provide services from my home (due to owning my own animals, family at home, etc.). However, any rules set by the owners would be followed to the letter, and I am also extremely capable of making choices in the best interest of both animals and people involved in situations, due to my history of involvement with animals!

Erica did a great job taking care of our Lucy while we were gone for five days. She was reliable and showed up every day, twice a day to care for Lucy and always sent us pictures and updates. I would greatly recommend her and trust her again to care for Lucy.

Astrid was so so wonderful -- incredibly prompt responses, incredibly kind, very thorough care-taking, and I've never seen my cats warm up to someone so quickly! Good vibes all around, and I feel like my cats are sad that I'm back and not Astrid hahaha. Sadly I'm moving states soon for my job, but if I weren't I would be re-booking Astrid every single time!!

Layla took great care of our cat Mosey. She was very attentive and gave great, detailed notes on how Mosey was doing. Layla communicated with us throughout the week we were gone and our cat kitty was very happy with Layla’s company. I definitely recommend Layla for pet care.

We really appreciate Sarah being able to drop in on our cats with very short notice due to an emergency trip we had to take. Our kitties took to Sarah right away even though they have shied away from strangers before. I hope Sarah won't be a stranger to them for long because we will definitely request her as a sitter for any future trips we will take.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Berwyn Heights. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
