“Mariela accepted my dog visit bookings on short notice over the 4th of July weekend and took great care of them. She followed my instructions expertly and sent me photos. I recommend her 10/10!”

“Another great job by Alexandra!!! This is our 3rd or 4th booking and we will definitely book again! She takes great care of our senior kitty. She gives her pills like a pro (because she is a pro!). Book Alexandra with confidence!”

“What a great first time experience on Rover with Astrid! She was friendly, communicative and thoughtful; her love for animals really showed. Thank you for taking care of our Mellow!”

“Alexander did a great job visiting my puppy while I was away. He was timely, gentle and attentive when handling him. I appreciate the updates and extra help with cleaning up after my pup and I trusted that my dog was in great hands. Thanks!”

“Layla is AWESOME SAUCE!! My kitties are typically "anti-humam other than mommy", but one of my kitties actually made contact with her several times. Layla is very sweet, she's observant, she's thoughtful, she's polite, and she genuinely loves and cares for animals. I'm so happy I was able to find her to look after my babies while I was away. I wasn't worried one bit because I knew she was dropping in on them while I was gone, and she took very good care of them!”

About: Hi! My name is Renee and I’ve been taking care of animals for most of my life. I grew up in a household with many different kinds of pets including dogs, rodents, and reptiles. I currently own two small dogs, Shih Tzu and Maltese mixes, one is 13 and the other is 3. I love all animals and am comfortable with them all. I’m currently unemployed so I have tons of time to care for and play with your furry friends! I’m mostly available on weekends as I have responsibilities weekdays, but I’m very flexible! I have a fenced in yard. I would keep my dogs separate just as a proactive measure since they are small. In your home I would care for your precious pet how you see fit!
About: I have a passion for animals, especially dogs I have had experience with pets for a couple of years and will be sure to take care of your fur babies. I can currently care for your cherished pet between 6-11:30 on the weekdays and anytime during weekends as long as you give me a little notice I will give your pups my full undivided attention and all the care they need you can trust they’ll be well taken care of when you leave them with me
“Karleigh took our drop in request on short notice and was super responsive and flexible throughout the week. We felt very confident leaving our cat in her care and she went above and beyond to make sure we came back to a clean house and a happy cat.”

“Lilla was great for visiting with my two pups! She was flexible and quick to respond when I needed a sitter due to unexpected trip to attend a funeral. She communicated well and provided me pictures of her visits. She even cleaned up after one of my pups when she got sick in the house. I’d recommend her and will use her again. Thank you, Lilla, and sorry about the pup mess!”

“Phenomenal! TeQuilla was extremely responsive, lovable to my cats and respectful to my home. I had to leave for a few days, and after our first introduction I felt completely comfortable leaving my cats within her care.”

About: I've loved animals my whole life, back to the days of summer camp at the National Zoo. I've walked many different dogs through watching friends' and neighbors' pets and volunteering at local animal shelters. I'm also a cat lover who has had cats in the house my whole life, and I even have some experience with pet fish! Animals of all sizes and personalities will be well-loved when spending time with me. :) Added bonus: I'm an excellent pet photographer, so I promise I'll get your furry friend's best side! I'm on summer break from school starting June 19, 2026, so I'll be available most days (including daytime, evenings, and weekends) unless I'm traveling! Before then, I'm available evenings and weekends. My priority is making sure your pet is safe and feels safe with me. I will always ensure your animal has food and water, bathroom access, and protection from other animals. I'm happy to accommodate any pet-specific concerns, too -- I have lots of experience with reactive dogs and will discuss your pet's needs before I spend time with them. I'm committed to spending as much time as needed making sure an animal feels comfortable with me.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, piranha, bunnies, turtles and rodents, etc! I have always loved and seen animals as the more primal side of our nature but that’s one of the purest forms of love that one can give! I am currently working full time at NIH, and after about 3:30pm, I work with animals around my community. Weekends I like to volunteer with people struggling with bigger dogs and temperament issues. Walking and leash training is key in my experience. I have a big yard for good time and to keep them safe! I love being outside, and making sure that the animals are safe while doing so is of the utmost importance to me !
“Thanks Carla! Carla did a wonderful job taking care of our two kitties. She was communicative throughout the week and they were happy and well fed when we came home.”

About: Hello! I've had dogs all my life and worked as part of a rescue group for part of that time. I love dogs and have a lot of experience taking care of them. I can take them for walks, give them lots of attention and if they take any medication, I have experience with that as well. I'm good with any size dog since I've had a lot of different ones from Cocker Spaniels to Irish Wolfhounds. I don't have any "official" recommendations but I have pet sitted for friends of my family a time or two. I'm also good with multiple dogs, having grown up around 6-12 in my house at any given time, along with multiple cats. I would love to be able to pet sit for you! I currently work from home, so I am able to be flexible when it comes to taking care of your furry family members, rain or shine! I can do doggy daycare in my house if your furry friend gets along with mine, but also more than happy to take care of your pets in your home, whether taking them out for a walk, feeding them, or letting them out into the yard.
About: I've always wanted a dog but I never got a chance to have one growing up since my mom was allergic. Now that I have my own place I've realized that my true passion is taking care of other people’s dogs. I have my own reliable transportation and would be able to drop in for visits or walks. I am currently working full time in healthcare. The days I work vary but I do work 12 hour days 3 times a week. If one or more of the days you are requesting falls on one of my work days, your pet would have to be okay going without a bathroom break for up to 8 hours (I have a family member at home that would be able to take your pet for a walk while I am working). For boarding I live in a one bedroom townhouse with a fenced yard that is away from the main road. If you would like to board your pet with me, I will still be respectful of all the rules/boundaries you have for your pet at home (not allowed on the furniture, no people food, etc).
About: I have a large grassy fenced backyard, and I have grown up with dogs ever since the age of 2. I have 10 years of experience caring for pets of all ages, personalities, and energy levels. I'm experienced with potty training, daily exercise, maintaining routines, administering medication, and caring for senior and special-needs pets. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I strive to make every visit enriching and enjoyable. I care for shy, low-energy, and active dogs, providing personalized care through exercise, enrichment, basic training, and plenty of attention. Whether your dog loves playing fetch, practicing basic commands, exploring new walking routes, or simply getting extra attention and companionship. I strive to make every visit enjoyable 😉. I offer 24/7 availability, Available Monday through Sunday 11 AM–1 AM, with a flexible schedule. I have extra availability throughout the summer before returning to community college in the fall. I'm happy to schedule a meet-and-greet before booking. My home is near a pond, walking trails, and two parks, offering plenty of opportunities for exercise, enrichment, and enjoyable walks.

About: I've been caring for animals for over 30 years and have loved pets for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always surrounded by both cats and dogs, and that passion led me to work at an animal shelter where I gained hands-on experience caring for animals of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. Over the years, I've had the joy of raising dogs ranging from tiny Yorkies to large Presa Canarios, and today I'm the proud owner of a 5-year-old Border Collie whom I've had since he was just 6 weeks old. I've also cared for senior dogs, including my own beloved senior dog who lived to be 15 years old. Caring for him throughout his senior years gave me firsthand experience with the patience, compassion, and special attention that older pets often need. I'm equally passionate about cats. My current cats were abandoned by their mother at just 4 weeks old, so I bottle-raised them myself. They're now almost a year old and thriving! I've also cared for senior cats, including my beloved cat who lived to the remarkable age of 22. Whether your pet is young, senior, energetic, shy, big, or small, I will care for them as if they were my own. I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family members, and I strive to provide loving, reliable, and attentive care every time. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and providing them with the same love and care I give my own. Feel free to give me a try! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I have a fairly flexible work schedule. This allows me to be available for pet visits and care in the early mornings, midday, late afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Whether your pet needs a quick check-in, a walk, feeding, playtime, medication administration, or simply companionship while you're away, I can provide reliable and attentive care throughout the day. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I strive to follow their routine as closely as possible to keep them comfortable, happy, and stress-free while you're away. I care for every pet as if they were my own and always strive to maintain their normal routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. In a client's home, I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication administration, litter box cleaning, and providing plenty of attention and affection. I also make sure pets have fresh water, a clean environment, and regular potty breaks. When caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, loving, and supervised environment where they can relax, play, and receive plenty of exercise and companionship. I pay close attention to each pet's individual needs, personality, and comfort level. I have experience caring for puppies, kittens, senior pets, and animals with special needs, so I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and communication. I also keep pet parents updated with messages and photos so they can have peace of mind while they're away.

Layla took great care of our cat Mosey. She was very attentive and gave great, detailed notes on how Mosey was doing. Layla communicated with us throughout the week we were gone and our cat kitty was very happy with Layla’s company. I definitely recommend Layla for pet care.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 8,242 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Goddard. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Goddard. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
