Pet care experience

Will be out of the state August 19th-28th Overnight for Thanksgiving is booked, drop ins available only. Growing up in a home overflowing with animals, I discovered a deep passion for pet care especially for those with special needs. Over the years, I’ve managed feline renal failure, cerebral cortex disorders, diabetes, senior dogs requiring mobility assistance, and pets coping with blindness, deafness, or anxiety. This expertise allows me to provide truly individualized, compassionate care for every animal. In 2026, I’ll be starting my formal certification in feline behavior to complement my medical needs experience and provide even more specialized care for cats who need patience, understanding, and a customized approach. I often joke that I connect better with animals than people, and it’s this bond that drives me to offer consistent, reliable care particularly for clients who struggle to find sitters familiar with their pet’s specific needs. As a special‑needs pet owner myself, I know how crucial it is to trust your caregiver implicitly. That’s why I pride myself on delivering a level of expertise and sensitivity that brings both you and your pet peace of mind. In addition to cats and dogs, I care for small animals from rabbits, gerbils, chinchillas, hamsters, and more. I currently maintain an active “mischief” of five rats, ensuring they receive ample out‑of‑enclosure time and enrichment. Before launching my pet‑care business, I worked as a pharmacy technician and spent six years as my mother’s full‑time caregiver until her recent passing. I also rescued a stray five‑year‑old cat who took 18 months to trust me but once she did, she truly flourished. Experiences like these have reinforced my commitment to patient, attentive care. My philosophy rests on transparency, honesty, and dependability. I’ve cared for breeds of all sizes from Chihuahuas to 100+‑pound Rotties and adapt my approach to suit each animal’s temperament and needs. Please note: Availability: My calendar updates weekly but may not reflect private bookings immediately. Travel surcharge: $1 per minute (beyond 15 minutes from Beltsville), calculated daily. Overnight stays: Walks are not included unless requested in advance ($14 per 20‑minute walk). Midday breaks: Every dog in my care receives a potty break and cuddle session each day. I remain with them at all times, even in a fenced yard, for their safety. I carry private insurance to protect your pet and your home. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your pet’s needs, please don’t hesitate to get in touch I’d love to help!

Connie has been a perfect addition to our pet sitters. We have a pretty anxious smaller pup who takes a while to warm up to strangers and she has been really patient with her. She is also great with our energetic young rottie. She is prompt with her replies to our requests for visits and even with last minute requests.

Connie was excellent with our rambunctious Rottweiler and a nervous chihuahua mix. She arrived on time and sent great pictures too! Will be booking again in the future.
