Chandler is always so reliable. We had her watch our two big dogs, one of which is very nervous and the other is dog reactive, during our wedding weekend because I knew with her we never have to worry that the dogs won’t get the best care! Thank you so much Chandler!

Anh was wonderful with our dog Wilbur- she sent us updates and was really sweet to him. She stayed over at our place which we appreciated because our pup can get a little anxious. Anh left us a very nice note and left the house very clean. We will definitely be reaching out to Anh again until the future for dog care!!

I can’t say enough good things about Corraly! She’s been an absolute lifesaver for me and Cloud. From day one, they showed so much care, patience, and a genuine love for dogs that I felt completely at ease leaving my pup in her hands. Cloud always comes back happy, well-exercised, and honestly a little extra spoiled. She goes above and beyond to make sure my dog’s routine is followed, and they send me the cutest updates and photos, which truly puts my mind at ease.

About: I have been petsitting, house sitting, cat sitting, and farm sitting since Rover was DogVacay, but actually since I was a child caring for my neighbors pets and horses. My dog Quill is around 8 years old and gets along with almost everyone. No one is perfect. That's why I ask that you allow enough time to schedule a Meet-N-Greet so we know your dog, my dog, and I are a good fit. I do not accept dogs that are not spayed or neutered. Sorry:( I am skilled at giving pills, liquid oral medications, and subcutaneous shots. (think diabetics and thyroid disease for cats) We have taken in a family member's cat in the past year. She is the queen of the household and is not intimidated by most dogs as long as they are not aggressive toward her. I can do drop in visits for cats, reptiles, and birds as needed. I do accept reptiles and birds into my home as well. My Husband and Stepson enjoy all the animals that come and go. I am working full time until June 17th, therefore I only accept dogs on the weekends until school is out. I just updated my summer schedule so there are more opportunities for walks, house sitting, and cat drop ins. I have a fenced patio that the dogs enjoy hanging out on. I do not have a yard, but my Condo is very large and there is plenty of room for the dogs to play and take breaks from each other. I do not take dogs off leash unless I know the dog very well and we are in a safe area such at the dog park or dog beach. I will only take your dog on excursions with your permission. My dog loves to go to the farm and the dog beach, but that's not for everyone. ;)

He clearly loves dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and he took great care of her while we were away for a week. Alex communicated promptly and was flexible, so the dog sitting was one less thing to worry about on our trip. We won't hesitate to leave her with him again anytime we can!

About: I have been a lover of all animals for as far back as I can remember and have taken care of them both personally and professionally. I have been employed by zoos and aquariums, worked with tigers, made diets for birds of prey, and assisted Marine Biologists with shark tanks and coral reefs. My training has not just been in educating the public, but in positive reinforcements. Everything from dogs, cats, snakes, hedgehogs, frogs, and so many more have been in my care over the course of my life for one reason or another. I am my friends' go-to for anything they've ever been curious about when it comes to our natural world. And being a dog mom of two myself has been one of the most rewarding privileges I've been able to experience. Pet care for me is 24/7 for my own babies, but I am available Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and some Wednesdays for any and all services. My pupperonies have been crate trained by me, but for the most part free roam. They have designated areas for when the hoomans are out of the house where they are allowed to nap and play with their toys or each other. Both have been socialized and are respectful of the other dog in the home. Both dogs get 3 walks per day, one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening to ensure they are exercised as well as some off leash play in the yard. For clients, I am attentive to each animals’ needs and respectful of owner requests. It is important for me to get to know your fluffybutt as much as possible in order to provide optimal care.

Nicole stayed at our place to watch our cat for almost two weeks and did a fantastic job! She was responsive and checked in regularly, and we came home to a happy cat. Our cat is very social and needs a lot of interaction and playtime, and it gave us peace of mind knowing Nicole was looking after him. Plus she took great care of our house and kept our plants alive. We’ll happily call on her again to take care of our cat when we’re out of town!

Cameron is such an amazing dog sitter/walker/handler! His interactions with my skittish dog has left her feeling loved and secure while in his care. Cameron is prompt with communication and very professional in all his interactions. He was flexible when we had to change our departure time due to longer TSA check in time. He followed instructions in caring for Storm and left the house immaculate. I was impressed he put the sheets and towels down the laundry shoot, I definitely didn't expect him to do that. He even remembered to leave the light on in the living room because I was returning late. If you're looking for a dog walker or sitter, don't hesitate to hire Cameron.

Alexandria did a fantastic job with Milo. When I returned he was in his crate which I let him out and he was in no urgent need to go outside. Which means he was still on his schedule. No that’s what one wants to come back to. My instructions were followed. Thank you for treating Milo like family.

We came home to two happy, well-cared-for dogs and a house that was in great shape. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Leo and Milo were in good hands while we were gone. Corraly did a FANTASTIC job caring for our sweet boy Prince and home while away for a week long vacation celebrating our 1st year marriage anniversary, and we could not have been more pleased with her services. This was our first time working with Corraly and she made a quick bond with Prince that clearly grew during the days they spent together. She texted daily updates and included lovely photos of their time spent together in our home and during long walks and was super responsive throughout her stay. We (including Prince) 100000% highly recommend Corraly and look forward to her future dogsitting stay 🤎 🖤

FAQs for House Sitting - West Lanham Hills

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in West Lanham Hills on Rover is $44.96 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 11,099 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across West Lanham Hills. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Lanham Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Lanham Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Lanham Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in West Lanham Hills. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
