About: I can’t speak for other sitters, but I have always wanted to work with animals since I was 7 years old and made my dream come true. I have been within the Veterinary Medicine field since 2010 (what can I say, I truly enjoy animals!). I have played multiple roles, including Veterinary Assistant/Technician, which is my current employment position now. My experience for pet care ranges from young puppies/kittens to our senior dogs/cats who we just want to be able to provide a hospice type of experience in multiple areas. Here are some examples listed: assist with puppy training, administering medications, minimal grooming services (i.e nail trim, maintenance ear cleaning, brushing, hair matt removal). I will also be able to inform clients if it is recommended for their pet to receive proper pet care by a Licensed Veterinarian, if God forbid something is noticed. I currently work full time at an animal hospital in Washington, D.C. where I am there from 7am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday, except for Wednesdays, and some alternating Saturdays from 8am - 12:30pm . However, depending on location, I will be able to visit in the morning prior to working and during schedule lunch break period which is from 1-3pm. I tend to have open availability on the weekends, but I will inform clients if I am unavailable in advance. I also have a fur baby canine at home myself. When it comes to caring for a client’s pet within their home, I like to do an introduction prior with both the fur babies and their parents. This allows me to introduce myself to the pet, as well as, be able to ask the client what their routine is usually like, are their any potential triggers/dislikes I should be aware of, what is usually allowed and what is not, etc. When it comes to dogs, I like to confirm with clients how their pets are during walks. For example: if they by chance like to pull while on walks, do they get fearful due to loud noises or cars driving past, do they react if they see other dogs walking, etc. This helps for me to be able to properly plan said outings and helps me to make it a more positive experience all around.

We have had 2 dogs in this family, and although Geoff was very young with our first pet Dawn, he seemed to be aware that you always treated animals with kindness and when we had our 2nd dog, Pippin, Geoff was the one that he liked the most in our family as Geoff always took him for walks and to the park and played with him, as my husband and I were of course both working. Even Geoff's aunt, who also has both dogs and cats, has noticed that he has a special something with animals, her cats were shy and scared of most visitors she has and they would hide away, but not when Geoff was there, they would always say hello and sit on his lap whenever they had the chance. I know he would make an excellent dog walker/ sitter as the dogs I have seen him with just know that he will not do them any harm and he will be an excellent buddy to have in their lives.”
