“Becky took great care of our cat Reggie! She followed our care instructions and left the house in pristine condition. Reggie got lots of playtime during Becky’s visits. When we got home we could tell Reggie wasn’t stressed, so we know Becky made him feel safe and loved. We will definitely book her again.”

About: I’m a dog dad of 3, I’ve grown up around all animals. I love my children and I want to be able to help people take care of theirs if they need it. Sometimes I like to bring my wife along to help, if you’re not okay with this please let me know and I’ll make sure it’s only me. I’m currently going to online school which leaves me with a lot of extra time for extra work such as Rover. Outside of taking care of my own babies. I am able to do stop in visits to take care of your fur babies for either a walk, to let them out, or to give them company for some time if they need it.

About: I currently work in an animal hospital, where I care for dogs and cats every day and have gained hands-on experience handling pets with different personalities, ages, and medical needs. My hospital also offered boarding services, so I have experience supervising pets, feeding them, administering medications when needed, cleaning kennels, and making sure they are comfortable and safe while away from home. I'm currently a college student who is off for the summer, giving me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets. I work in an animal hospital and have experience with pet care and boarding, so caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy and feel comfortable doing. I'll make sure your pet receives plenty of attention, exercise, and love while you're away, and I'll treat them like one of my own. I can provide pet care exclusively in the clients' homes, where pets are most comfortable in their familiar environment. I can follow each owner's instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, and any special care requests. My experience working in an animal hospital has taught me to pay close attention to animals' behavior and well-being, so you can trust that your pet will be safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away. I treat every home with respect and every pet like they're my own.
About: I provide personalized, attentive dog care with structured routines, enrichment, and clear communication, ensuring every pet receives safe, focused, high-quality service that owners can trust. My availability is flexible, I’m mainly free from 8am-1pm and from 10pm onward for over night accommodations. I Have availability to drop or pick up. My apartment homes are in a very dog friendly area, I immediately outside of my door is green space with doggie waste trash disposal cans

“Nasheia is incredibly professional, communicative, and so very caring towards our dog Charlie! Charlie has a few special needs in his diet and behavior around other dogs, and Nasheia has handled everything he’s thrown at her. She drops in to our home for feeding and walks while we’re in office a few days during the week, and Charlie absolutely loves her. Nasheia communicates any issues early on, like scheduling or unexpected things happening during visits. She also politely points out when supplies like treats or food are low. She’s forward thinking and that’s a perfect match for us as planners when it comes to our dog. We’d recommend her to anyone!”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life. Extensive experience with larger dogs but I love them all. I am able to provide some basic training, car, and lots of love. I have owned mixed breads, boxers, and right now I have a massive that is an amazing girl. I am looking forward to caring for your pet. I have a lot of free time right now and can walk or check in your 4 legged family member anytime you need. I can check in on your other pets as well if you need to and water your plants if needed. I can care for your pets at home, take them for walk, feed them, provide medications, play and train them if needed it. Happy to work with you and your pets needs. I’ve cared for senior dogs, puppies and all ages in between. Animals in general tend to like me and I am comfortable with with all of them, birds included.

About: Through previous and most recent positions, I have hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments through pet sitting and dog walking. My responsibilities included feeding, administering basic medications, maintaining exercise schedules, cleaning litter boxes, monitoring behavior, and providing companionship and enrichment. While I work full-time, I’m available for evening care after 6 PM depending on location, along with flexible availability on my days off for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting. I provide reliable in-home pet care by maintaining pets’ routines, ensuring they’re fed, exercised, comfortable, and given plenty of love and attention while their owners are away.
About: I have been a vet technician for 4 years. My specialty is general wellness. Taking care of fur babies and giving them excellent care. Pets with different temperament and sizes are no issues for me. I work full time at the Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA). From Tuesday to Friday. I volunteer at City Wildlife in DC all day Monday. I’m Available all weekend at whatever time. I have a 1 bedroom apartment with just 1 cat. A big neighborhood with a lot of open space. I also love long walks & hikes. A lot of outside time & new adventures.
“Sarah is a fantastic sitter. I trust her with my dog emphatically. She gives my pup lots of love, long walks, communicates clearly and transparently and sends me pics that puts me at ease when I’m away from my baby. My fave sitter ever.”

About: Thanks for checking out my sitter profile! I've been watching pets across the DC area for nearly 8 years, which includes experience as a walker and housesitter. I'm a dependable animal lover who will make sure your pet is happy and comfortable even while their people are away. I live with my partner in a very dog-friendly house in Landover Hills. While I manage the Rover account, my partner Lou--who is a caring pet parent with animal experience that includes a stint at wolf sanctuary-- also will keep your pet(s) company. We have two pups: the elderly Walden, a pug who sleeps 90% of the day, and Drax, an active mutt who enjoys playing with friends new and old in our yard but also cuddling up for evening snuggles. We have two cats who are friendly with dogs but have access to a dog-free office if any issues arise (so far we've only had adorable introductions as dogs' first cat friends--many nose boops). The house is in a suburban area and has a fenced in, maintained yard where your pup can happily spend their days playing with Drax, rolling in the grass, and sniffing around. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! I work from home most days of the week; Lou works entirely from home. We often have guest animals in the house, so are used to a daily routine of breakfast and backyards romps after wake-up, multiple breaks throughout business hours, and plenty of play time and dinner in the evenings. We’re happy to incorporate your pet’s usual routine into ours to keep them comfy. I’m attentive to dogs in my care and take pride in ensuring they are comfortable while their owners are away. While with us, your pet will be treated like our own and get plenty of attention, exercise, and care.
“Sharmily is heaven sent and if I didn’t have her I would never travel. She goes above and beyond your expectations. I feel 100% at ease knowing that she is tending after my pets. She takes tons of photos and add a nice Description of what she notices around my home and pets. She is a Rockstar!”

“Emma is so great with our cats, we love having her hang out with them while we’re away. She’s communicative and attentive; we feel comfortable knowing our cats are in great hands when we’re out of town. Thanks again, Emma!”

“Absolutely fantastic service. Very communicative and my dogs loved her! We have a new rescue and he came out of his cage and his room to greet her. He hasn't done that until now! I'll definitely book again.”
“Keaton is truly a great cat sitter that I cannot recommend enough to others! Whether it's communication, attention to detail, taking photos/videos, or their natural ability to work with kitties, Keaton excelled in every aspect.”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was young, I usually specialize with cats and dogs since they’re mostly my favorites but I’m up for anything I currently work part time doing security work so I usually have time to house sit or go for walks whenever I’m not at work and I can call out if an emergency sitting is needed. I usually have my eyes on the pets at all times, they’re either nearby or directly in my view in case anything happens or they need to be get or taken care of but I can’t house them in my home.
About: I treat every dog like family — whether they’re a playful pup or a senior soul who just wants cuddles and calm walks. I have experience with all ages, and I’m especially patient with shy or high-energy dogs. Need someone who understands puppy training, senior care, or medication routines? I got you. I also send regular updates and pics, because I know how much it means to see your fur baby happy and safe while you’re away. I show up on time, follow instructions to the letter, and genuinely love bonding with every pet I meet. Basically: I don’t just “watch” dogs — I vibe with them. Pet care is a regular part of my routine! I build my schedule around the needs of the pets I care for, including my own. — whether it’s early morning walks, midday drop-ins, or evening cuddle sessions. I keep a flexible calendar so I can be available when you need me most, including weekends and holidays. If your pet has a set routine (meal times, meds, potty breaks, play), I’m all about keeping them on track and stress-free. I plan my days to make sure your fur baby gets the attention, care, and consistency they deserve. Whether I’m welcoming your pet into my home or caring for them in yours, I aim to make them feel safe, loved, and stress-free. I follow your pet’s routine closely — feeding, walks, meds, playtime, potty breaks, and cuddles — just the way they’re used to. In your home, I respect your space like it’s my own and keep everything clean and in order. I make sure your pet feels comfortable while you're away and that you stay updated with daily photos and notes. If your pet is staying with me, they’ll have a cozy space, plenty of love, and lots of supervised play and rest. I make sure they feel like part of the family while you're gone.
“Megan has taken great care of my very shy cat Peanut multiple times!! She communicates with photos and messages regularly and I know I can rely on her to handle anything that might come up (including Peanut knocking over his whole litter box). Highly recommend, she’s a fantastic, trustworthy sitter and Peanut loves her!”

My family and I highly recommend Jackalyn services. We took a trip out of the country for some days and having Jackalyn visiting and taking care of our baby furs really made our trip much better, by a lot. Jackalyn was very communicative during her visits during our whole trip including sending daily pictures of our pets’ activities, among other tasks. We will definitely use Jackalyn services when we take future trips out of town and recommend her services without a doubt.

Natalie is truly a VIP cat sitter. She consistently goes above and beyond to make sure Pierre is not only cared for, but genuinely comfortable, happy, and loved while I’m away. She spends quality time with him, follows every instruction carefully, keeps me updated, and always makes sure he’s well fed and well taken care of. She is hands down the best cat sitter I’ve ever had, and I would strongly recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing, trustworthy, and attentive person to care for their pets.
Izcali was fantastic! Super responsive, easy to communicate with, and followed instructions to the T. Our furbaby looked happy every check in photo dump and seemed very happy and content when we got home. I can tell she got lots of love and attention while we were away. I will absolutely recommend Izcali to others and will rebook again.

Shannon is the first person I trust when it comes to giving my cat the best care possible. She consistently goes above and beyond, offering thoughtful updates and showering my cat with so much love. My cat is incredibly picky, yet he absolutely adores her. Shannon is reliable, attentive, and truly amazing in every way. I recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking for an amazing pet sitter. Shannon is the absolute best!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 8,173 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Landover. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Landover. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
