About: Dogs love me. Every time I’m around one, it walks up & snuggles me. I am a cat owner. I have two beautiful 3year old cats. I have a pretty flexible schedule. I prefer to dog walk in the mornings but I am available everyday of the week at anytime. Cats are welcomed to my home daily. I will care for your dog by catering to its needs & sticking to what makes each dog comfortable. I will abide by its usual routine.

About: I've not professionally trained any pet, but I've trained every pet I've had for life, love, respect as a member of my home. Every pet has to know the boundaries so that we can live in peace and harmony with each other4. Once they learn what is and isn't acceptable, there is mutual love and respect in the house. Since I retired, I'm home most of the day except for appointments or errands. I doggie sat my grand doggie for my son quite often. Starting out, I prefer to care for pets in my home. I live in a Condo. I don't have a yard, but I do have an unfenced in Courtyard right in front of my steps. Before my son's dog, passed away last year, I used to take her to several different parks for walks as well. She also loved long rides. We walked at the National Harbour, Yards Park, Tucker's Park, and the DC Warf. While she was with me, I'd send videos to my son of how she was doing and our activities, especially while he was on travel or vacation.

Our family has shared our home with everything from standard poodles to an American Eskimo, so I've handled big personalities, high-maintenance coats, smart dogs who need a job, and gentle seniors who need patience and a soft place to land. We recently lost our beloved standard poodle, and while we're not ready for another dog of our own yet, we have a lot of love with nowhere to go. We'd be thrilled to pour it into yours. Your dog will be our only pet, which means undivided attention: no competing for the couch, the yard, or the treats. Speaking of the yard, it's fully enclosed, so there's plenty of room to sniff, play, and stretch out safely, and we're an easy walk from a nearby park for longer outings. Our home also includes a dog-adoring 7-year-old who has grown up around dogs and knows how to be calm and respectful with them, and all interactions are supervised. By day I run a national nonprofit (from our home), so I'm organized, responsive, and used to being trusted with things that matter to other people. You'll get prompt replies, photo updates, and a sitter who actually follows your instructions, whether that's a medication schedule, a specific feeding routine, or a nightly belly rub quota. I work from home, so your dog won't be left alone for long stretches. My day has a natural rhythm that suits most dogs: a morning walk or yard time before I start work, a midday break for a potty trip and some play, and a longer walk to the park in the late afternoon once the workday winds down. In between, your dog is welcome to nap at my feet, keep an eye on the squirrels from the window, or supervise my Zoom calls. Evenings and weekends are family time, which means more play, more attention, and more couch cuddles. I'm happy to follow your dog's existing schedule for meals, medications, and bedtime, since I know routine is what helps most dogs settle into a new place quickly. Your dog's safety and comfort come first in our home. We have a fully enclosed yard for supervised play and potty breaks, and we're a short walk from several parks for longer outings, always on leash unless you've told me otherwise. I do a quick check of gates and latches before every outing, and dogs are never left unattended outside. Inside, your dog has the run of our home and is welcome on the furniture unless you'd prefer they stay off. We've never crated our own dogs, but if a crate is what makes your pup feel safe and settled, I'm happy to use one. Just bring it along with their bed, food, and anything else that smells like home.
