âCrystal is so amazing!!! She is patient, thoughtful and caring. My Junior was well taken care and I felt comfortable with leaving him with Crystal. Iâve already booked my next appointment for Junior and I know there will be many more appointments in the future. Crystal is the best!!!â

âSimply phenomenal! This was the first time we've had to leave Ollie for the whole day so we wanted to be sure he was left in good hands. I've been on the sitter side many times before but this was the first time we've left one of our dogs with someone other than family. We could not be happier or more grateful! Catie was extremely communicative, gave multiple picture and video updates, and Ollie clearly had a blast playing with Catie's dogs! So glad to have found such a loving, attentive sitter we can feel so comfortable leaving our pup with :)â

About: I am an animal lover and have had various types of animal companions throughout my lifetime. Currently I am the Farm operator for our Urban farm. We raise ducks and chickens but they are always separate from visiting pups. Only within view for their entertainment and relaxation here on the farm. Yes we are located nearby in the city 𼰠I have a quiet understanding with most animals that I come across and enjoy their company. I have sat for many of my friends and family and am the go to person when someone needs to go out and about but cannot take their pet family members. I am currently focusing on dog sitting and have dedicate my time to being available to meet as many fur babies as I can in the next couple months. I have a room dedicated to pet care which has a greenhouse feel with plants but is fully enclosed in the home. It has a doggy door which leads out to our fully fenced back yard and large dog run with a insulated dog house inside. I also have a wireless camera on the areas which allow me to make sure that everyone is ok at all times. Please note that I no longer accept large breed dogs at this time aside from past clients. I am currently focusing my time on pet sitting. I am always also checking in via webcam on the pups wherever I am. Dog personalities are so amazing and fun to see. I have a double fenced yard to keep your pets safe. Lots of open dog crates and bedding for snoozing. A dog door that allows them some freedom and a large dedicated outdoor dog area for doggie playtime. They also always have access to fresh cool water.

âMurray and Monty had another wonderful day at âUncle Jeff and Danâsâ house! Itâs only been a few times weâve left them and they already canât wait to go! It has been an amazing experience finding them, because we know theyâre safe, happy and well cared for and we never have to worry. Thanks again for everything.â

âKuma looked like he had the best time with Irma! I definitely appreciate her taking care of him on short notice for a day trip I had planned. She sent updates of Kuma throughout the day. I would definitely recommend and revisit!â

âI appreciate all of Denishaâs efforts to try to accommodate my dogâs needs. It did not turn out working out but thatâs due to my dogâs own personal special needs and needing more individualized special care. Denisha was very patient and honest during my dogâs care. Some sitters do it for the financial gain but I could really tell that Denisha genuinely cares for the dogs that she sits. She was responsive and provided frequent updates/pictures. I really am thankful that she cared about my dogâs comfort and tried to accommodate her needs. I would definitely recommend Denisha!â

âDanielle is great with Diggy. She keeps me updated during his stay and also send pictures. I truly appreciate her in taking care of my fur baby. Thank you, Danielle and you are greatly appreciated!!!â

âRita was absolutely amazing with my dog, Natalie! Natalie can be reactive and typically needs time to adjust to new environments and people, but Rita went above and beyond to make sure she felt comfortable and supported. She took the time to really understand Natalieâs needs, triggers, and what makes her happy, which made such a difference. I really appreciated the regular photo updates and how communicative she was throughoutâchecking in, asking thoughtful questions, and keeping me reassured the entire time. Itâs clear Rita genuinely cares and puts in the extra effort, and because of that, Natalie had a great experience. Iâm so grateful and would absolutely book with her again. Thank you, Rita!â

âNicole and her family were so welcoming to our puppy! Our puppy has a wonderful time with Nicole. Nicole responded promptly to our messages and was accommodating to our needs.â

About: Iâve been the designated dog person my whole life: the friend everyone calls, the one who volunteered on campus, the neighbor who actually means it when she says âIâll watch them.â Iâve been caring for dogs for over 10 years and my Rover clients kept coming back because their dogs genuinely loved it here. I treat every pup like my own. This is their home away from home đ Pet care isnât something I fit into my day, it IS my day. I have a flexible, open schedule which means your dog gets real attention, real walks, and someone whoâs actually present. No rushing, no clock-watching. My home is clean, pet-friendly, and always has a furry resident ready to make new friends. When Iâm in your home I treat it, and your pet with the same care Iâd want for my own. Your dog isnât just safe here, theyâre comfortable.
About: I've always had dogs growing up in southern Virginia. I have taken care of my own pets for the past 10 years, I have a dog and a cat (that acts like a dog). My dog is not spayed, so I have experience with dogs in heat. If your dog is not neutered, I have experience monitoring behavior and separating the animals. My parent's dog is not neutered. As a loving parent of a goldendoodle, pet care is a big part of my daily routine. I am able to work remotely on most days so I can be flexible with my dog walking schedule. Most mornings start with fresh water and fresh food and a walk. I usually walk my dog again during lunch and then after the work day is over in the evening. I understand dog/cat behavior and know when to separate the animals. Moreover if you dog is crate trained, I will use that as their safe space whenever they may be anxious. If possible, please leave an item from home with your scent.
âGreat rover definitely would book with them if I lived in the same area. Nala was tired every time after I picked her up. Stephanie and her husband did great with nala 5 star!!â

âMy Scottish terrier puppy had an awesome daycare stay with Kris and his family while I put in long hours at work. He came home happy and exhausted, and when we arrived in the morning, my dog raced towards Krisâ front door excited to spend the day there. Kris was flexible, accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend him!â

Crystal was super accommodating, letting me book out Christmas Day just a few days in advance. She was so thorough, from the initial Zoom interview questions to sending pics and updates periodically during my dogâs stay. I felt 100% confidence that all his needs would be met. Think of doggy day care as your dogâs fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0â7 kilograms and/or 7â18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pupâs socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dogâs pack, check the sitterâs profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dogâs vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitterâs care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, youâre adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
