Leo has been taking our dog on midday walks twice a week for the past few months. He is unfailingly reliable, communicative and responsive. He lets us know if he is going to be even a few minutes later than usual, even though our dog is low-maintenance and large-bladdered! Leo has given us lots of advance notice on the rare occasion when he was not available for a regular walk (e.g., at the holidays). And he's an all-around nice guy. It gives us great comfort to know that our Jake is getting such excellent care.

About: At just 23 years old, I already have 10+ years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. I treat every dog like family, prioritize safety and attention, and make sure owners feel completely comfortable and updated while they’re away. Since I currently have a very open and flexible schedule, I’m able to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day instead of only checking in between work hours. This allows me to be fully present for walks, playtime, feeding schedules, and making sure every pet feels comfortable, cared for, and never rushed. Whether I’m caring for my two dogs in my own home or in a client’s home, I focus on creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, and any special instructions. I also make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship so they feel relaxed and cared for while their owners are away.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Chanelle is fantastic! She’s incredibly friendly, prompt, and professional, with the added patience to handle our rather barky chihuahua-pug mix. Our dog doesn’t usually warm up to people quickly, but she immediately took to Chanelle, which says a lot. Her calm, reassuring approach made her feel comfortable, and it’s clear she genuinely loves working with animals. Chanelle is reliable and trustworthy, and we feel so lucky to have her as our dog walker. Highly recommend!

About: I’m Tracey and I love fur babies! They are the most loyal and sweet pals who truly care about everyone they interact with. I miss having my constant companion, Jasper, since he passed and I’m not currently able to adopt a pup. Providing loving care to the wonderful animals of my community is the perfect way to get my ‘dog fix’ in! What you will love about me is that I’ve been a lifelong pet parent and have been the go-to pet sitter for my friends and family members for years. I’m responsible and trustworthy, and aim to create a respectful and friendly relationship between you and your family! I treat others’ fur babies as if they were my own because I know how important they are to their families. Being communicative is also important when watching pups, so I keep you updated with photos and texts so you know what we’re up to while you’re away. I have cared for dogs of every size, breed, and personality and have specific experience with Miniature Schnauzers, as I owned one for over 12 years. I was also a foster mom with Schnauzer Rescue League of the Mid Atlantic. I would be happy to care for any pooch on Rover! I live Hyattsville in a beautiful and spacious home that is completely pet-friendly. All animal visitors are allowed on the furniture with your permission, and can enjoy cuddle sessions on the couch each night. We have a fenced-in backyard where your dog can enjoy safe potty breaks and play time or even sunbathing and nap time! My neighborhood is perfect for pups, too! It’s a mix of townhomes and family homes with lots of children. It’s a very walkable area close to shops and restaurants and a doggie park. I live with my 21 year old son, Timothy, who is a former Rover sitter and would be happy to dole out extra cuddles to your pal. When I'm not pet sitting, I'm tweaking areas around my house, working in my garden, exercising, or volunteering at Meals on Wheels. I love being a stress free as possible and having doggie visitors helps me stay happy and healthy! I can’t wait to meet you.

About: I was practically raised by wolves lol. Growing up in a Huge Southern Household I’ve had plenty of Paws-on experience with dozens of breeds, all sizes, ages, and temperaments. From HUGE St Bernard’s and German shepherd’s, to Pomeranians and Yorkipoos! I’m a college student on summer break, so the sky is the limit! My schedule is extremely flexible, and I will be happy to discuss that further with you. Unfortunately, I do not offer boarding services at this time. I am familiar and experienced taking precautionary measures to keep your fur baby safe and happy home and in public spaces.

About: Dogs bring a sort of warmness no other companion can bring. Since I was 12 years old I took care of my German Shepard while my mom was a away for work.Furthermore, I use to volunteer at animal shelters and assist with feeding and grooming. Since I work too often and have a small apartment, I can not have my pet at this time. Being able to take care of others companion makes me feel as though I am fulfilling my own passion. Bless their paws Bless our hearts. I have three days off from work. I am off from Thursday -Saturday. I am new to the area and have a lot of free time. I live in a downtown area right by the police station. The only service I offer as of now would be dog walking. I currently own no pets

About: What sets me apart is my endless patience and keen attention to detail—I treat every pet like they're my own. When I'm not spoiling my own kitties, you'll find me behind the camera, snapping cat photos to help them find their forever homes. Rest assured, I'll share the best update pictures of your fur babies while you're away. I work full-time but am mostly home-based, which gives me the flexibility to provide plenty of attention and care for your pets throughout the day. Whether it's drop-ins, walking, or just taking a break to give your furry friend some love, I'm here to ensure they're happy and comfortable. Available on weekdays and weekends! Drop-In Visits / House Sitting: When visiting your home, I’ll ensure your pet has fresh food and water, take them out for a walk or let them out for a bathroom break, and spend quality time playing or cuddling with them. We were devastated when our Rover Walker relocated to the west coast; but Rover has provided a plethora of phenomenal Walkers. Becca is pitching in during vacation. She’s so kind and responsible. She shows Frankie such care and gentleness. In fact she is so good with him that I want her to continue beyond vacation. She will be walking him two days a week providing me with a much needed morning rest. Frankie has taken to her like a stamp to a letter.🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

  • 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
