“Nick is great! He walked/hung out with our dog during my wife and I’s wedding. We had a lot of confidence celebrating while knowing our dog was in good hands. Nick was kind, trustworthy, communicative every step of the way. Thanks!”

About: Hi! I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up with a dog taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, and providing a loving environment for pets. I’m an active, dependable person who enjoys long walks and spending time outdoors on walking trails, so making sure your dog gets plenty of exercise and attention comes naturally to me. Whether your pup loves a leisurely stroll or has lots of energy to burn, I’ll make sure they feel safe, cared for, and loved while they’re with me. I understand that pets are family, and I’ll treat yours with the same care and respect I’d want for my own. Pet care fits very well into my weekly routine because I have a flexible schedule and plenty of availability. This allows me to provide reliable care, accommodate last-minute bookings when possible, and give each pet the time and attention they deserve. I unfortunately do not have a yard at my residence but I am more than happy to take care of your furry friends on your home

“Jess has been wonderful walking our dog Toby around the neighborhood! Her daily updates truly bring us joy, and Toby always seems happy and relaxed when he gets home. She is also considerate and communicative when schedule changes come up. We're so grateful and happy to highly recommend Jess :)”

“Alex was highly recommended by a friend, and I can see why — we’ll definitely be using him again! He’s super friendly and really cared about making sure he knew all the little quirks of our doggo. We also really appreciate how communicative and reliable he is.”

“Our dog Finley loves having Alexandra and her dog Gus come and play with her. Alexandra is very active with Finley, and Finley is well exercised and much calmer afterwards! Will definitely book again.”

“Michael did a great job taking care of our dog! She immediately took to him and was nice and tired after good long walks. Very communicative and easy to work with!”

“Joseph M was great with Diego and Daisy. He has a great manner with the dogs. He was reliable and sent regular, detailed updates. We will use him again in a heartbeat.”

“Amani, is outstanding. Leah came home happy and ready to se her daddy. I really want to say thanks Amani for helping me today. I really look forward to working with you a lot more”

“Lilla was fantastic!! Often going above and beyond to make sure our puppy had an amazing experience with her. She was very communicative and took plenty of pictures and/or video to let us know our puppy was doing well. Highly recommend and will definitely book her again whenever we need someone to walk Molly!”

About: Currently my brother and I are working from home and don't mind having your dog here to accompany us. We love furry guests! I've had/watched dogs all my life ranging from teacups to great Danes, we love them all! Working from home 5 days a week (introverts for sure) we are available most week days and weekends. Our morning and afternoon walks for its nothing to add your fur baby! We have pups and dislike crates so I let them roam the house. If the house is too foreign I will limit them to the room im occupying with occasional backyard fun and 20/30 min walks. I also send pics daily/hourly depending on owners comfort level.
About: I’ve been caring for my cat Angel since she was 4 months old, and I’ve spent the past 3 years learning how to provide love, patience, attention, and proper care for a pet’s needs. I understand that every animal has their own personality and deserves to feel safe and comfortable. I currently work part-time at Safeway, which allows me to have a flexible schedule for pet care. I’m able to provide care before or after my shifts, as well as on my days off. I already have experience caring for my own cat, Angel, who I’ve had since she was 4 months old for the past 3 years. I’m used to maintaining a routine with feeding, cleaning, playtime, and giving pets the attention and care they need. I care for pets by creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment where they feel relaxed and cared for. I make sure they have fresh food and water, follow their normal routines, provide playtime and attention, and keep their space clean. I understand that every pet has their own personality and needs, so I take the time to be patient and learn what makes each pet feel comfortable. From my experience caring for my cat Angel for the past 3 years, I know how important consistency, affection, and responsibility are when caring for animals.

About: I grew up on a farm in Virginia surrounded by cows, horses, wild animals, and beloved pets — including the long-haired mini black and tan dachshunds we bred, trained, and raised. Starting at age 9, I helped birth litters of both puppies and kittens, and went on to train two mini dachshunds of my own using intermittent reinforcement (no small feat with such a stubborn-but-brilliant breed!). I cared for them throughout their entire lives. Beyond my own animals, I have years of experience caring for and training friends’ dogs and cats. While this is my first time on Rover, my hands-on experience with animals goes back decades. I’m available for boarding, dog walking, and drop-in visits. I live in a townhouse in NE DC with a private backyard where pups can play and a great neighborhood for walks. I’d love to help care for your furry family member — don’t hesitate to reach out! Working part time, that means I have more time to take care of pups! Love walks and bringing a dog along to have some fun. The most important part about care is to listen to the pet parent and learn all the peculiarities about their special family member and treat them with the kindness and care that will keep them happy when you return home with no messes to deal with!

About: My husband and I grew up with dogs and have had a dog together for 8 years. We have experience training dogs and caring for a range of breeds and levels of need. We recently bought a house with a fenced-in yard and figured our dog would like some new friends! We are educators so we work throughout the week until summer break when we will be home throughout the day. We look forward to meeting your pup and caring for them like they’re our own! We are both in education, so we are currently working throughout the week but are free on the weekends or can care for dogs that are used to being home. We do have a dog of our own to keep others company while we are away. During summer break, we will be home all day every day to care for your dog! We have a house in a quiet area with a large fenced-in yard that your dog will love to run around in. We also have a dog of our own who loves to make new friends and play. We have experience as dog owners for 8 years, and we are comfortable with any care needs as a result. We look forward to welcoming your dog into our home!

About: I was practically raised by wolves lol. Growing up in a Huge Southern Household I’ve had plenty of Paws-on experience with dozens of breeds, all sizes, ages, and temperaments. From HUGE St Bernard’s and German shepherd’s, to Pomeranians and Yorkipoos! I’m a college student on summer break, so the sky is the limit! My schedule is extremely flexible, and I will be happy to discuss that further with you. Unfortunately, I do not offer boarding services at this time. I am familiar and experienced taking precautionary measures to keep your fur baby safe and happy home and in public spaces.
About: What sets me apart is my endless patience and keen attention to detail—I treat every pet like they're my own. When I'm not spoiling my own kitties, you'll find me behind the camera, snapping cat photos to help them find their forever homes. Rest assured, I'll share the best update pictures of your fur babies while you're away. I work full-time but am mostly home-based, which gives me the flexibility to provide plenty of attention and care for your pets throughout the day. Whether it's drop-ins, walking, or just taking a break to give your furry friend some love, I'm here to ensure they're happy and comfortable. Available on weekdays and weekends! Drop-In Visits / House Sitting: When visiting your home, I’ll ensure your pet has fresh food and water, take them out for a walk or let them out for a bathroom break, and spend quality time playing or cuddling with them. I treat your home with care and your pet like family.
“Delaina was late, but she communicated well and took good entertaining photos of my doggos. She must have been great, because my spouse said they were so confused when she left. They thought she was part of our family so she was dog on approved! Thanks girl!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
