“Really appreciate Jared's attention to detail. Our pets have a somewhat complicated feeding schedule! Communication level was great and gave us peace of mind while we were away.”

“John was so very courteous and kind to help out our family at the last minute due to my mom's hospitalization. He was very understanding of our need to be with my mom, and did a wonderful job of caring for Sherlock, our English Setter, who is such a total couch potato. Turned a stressful experience into an much appreciated family time with my mom.”

“Sebastian was a fabulous dog/house sitter. He took care of my two 80-pound golden retrievers for a week while I was away. They can be a lot, and he handled them beautifully. I have had a lot of different sitters and he checked all my boxes: He arrived when he said he would; he stayed at the house and never left them for too long; he reached out when he had a question about their water bowl system; most importantly, the dogs were happy and healthy when I got back and the house was perfect. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.”

“Lauren is reliable and has great communication. She is very sweet with our senior dog and takes excellent care of her. She is also a clean and respectful house guest. We really appreciate her and highly recommend her.”

“We were so lucky to find Brooke for an extended cat/house sit over the summer! I can't remember a time when I was more relaxed to leave my shy (but needy) boy with a sitter. Brooke is clearly a cat whisperer -- he trusted her immediately and became very attached. She was extremely diligent with all the care, played and cuddled with him and left the house in remarkably pristine condition. Very responsive and responsible, I cannot recommend her highly enough and look forward to having her stay again.”

“Jocabet was fantastic! She sent so many pictures and kept me updated throughout the weekend. She did a great job caring for them, taking them on walks, and administering medicine. I would love to have her come watch the pups again!”

“It was our first time working with MaNiyha, and we needed housesitting + care for two clingy dogs for a whole week. She was wonderful! She sent regular updates with photos, and we could see that the dogs really relaxed with her and trusted her. She even did some additional training with them and calmed them down during multiple thunderstorms! Plus, she left the house spotless. We look forward to working with MaNihya again in the future!”

“Mark did a great job with taking care of my high-energy dog, Atlas! He took him on long walks and hikes to help burn his energy. He clearly loves what he does, and I would trust him to take care of Atlas again!”

“Marc is absolutely incredible! He is wonderfully kind, gentle and patient with my high energy puppy. He took her on long walks each day and stayed with her in my home. He kept me updated with pictures throughout the day. I will always call him as my first choice when I am away.”

“We used Karachi for the first time to house sit our two dogs and were very happy. Quick and responsive to set up, stopped by for a meet and greet, showed up as promised, took great care of the house and dogs. We will happily use her again”

“Gabz was a fantastic sitter for our senior cat. They were super communicative and diligently took great notes on his many medications. I cannot recommend Gabz enough for anything you need, including house sitting. Six stars!”

“This is our second time using Alex for a long stay. He is amazing. We, of course, missed our pup while we were away, but we never had to worry about her. We knew she was having a great time with Alex. He is professional, kind, responsible, and LOVES your pet while you are not home to do so. We are grateful to have him watch our furry loved one.”

“Janis was wonderful house sitting for our cat Toastie while we were away on vacation. She stopped by for a meet-and-greet before, and it took no time for Toastie to warm up to her. Janis was excellent with communication. During her stay, we received regular updates and pics to let us know everything was fine. Janis was also responsible and took very good care of Toastie. We will be happy to schedule her again!”

“Cora was an excellent sitter that got Ozzy and Dee out for many walks. They loved her and she was attentive and an extremely good communicator which put our minds at ease. Definitely will look to book again and highly recommend to all pet owners!”

“Hannah took such good care of our dog Penny. She gave lots of updates while we were away and took great care of our home as well. Highly recommend Hannah for any of your pet care needs! We will definitely ask her to stay with Penny next time we need a sitter!”

“Amazing! Kai took such great care of my dog; gave him a ton of attention and took him out to meet his family which was very sweet. Rio seemed to have a blast with him, I will absolutely be using Kai again in the future. Thank you!”

“Amy is a gem! We did not plan on having a small kitten along with our two adult cats when we planned a trip, and realized a house sitter was needed to continue monitoring and acclimating our cat fam. Amy responded to all communication promptly, sent pics and updates throughout, and left our house immaculate. We came home to cats who were relaxed and happy. Highly recommend Amy's services, she is a trustworthy professional.”

Riana was fantastic! She’s the first sitter to take care of my high energy 5 month old puppy, and everything went very well. My dog had a minor medical issue and Riana was completely on top of it and handled everything. She also left my apartment in great condition. Will absolutely book with her again!

I would give Cara 100 stars if I could! She watched my two dogs for a long weekend and I it’s hard to know where to start. She has clear communication and sent tons of hilarious updates about the pups which made us feel so at ease. She is responsible, reliable, took amazing care of the dogs, and left our home spotless. She had patience with one of my dogs who was very stand-offish initially, and ultimately became obsessed with her, to the point that we came home and before he could see us, we caught him staring out the back door where she had just left. We can’t wait to hire her again and would HIGHLY recommend her if you want to be able to trust that your pups are safe while you’re away. The peace of mind she provided was truly a gift.

Meredith has house-sat for us a couple of times while taking care of our cat, Livy. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter. Not only did Meredith really get to know Livy, but she also took great care of our plants while we were away. Livy is always happy to have Meredith around, and we have complete peace of mind knowing our home and cat are in such good hands.

We had a great experience with Gordon who watched our energetic and dramatic five-year old Whoodle, Bruce, for a long weekend. Gordon was conscientious and professional from our very first interaction and took excellent care of Bruce and our home. He also took Bruce’s reactivity on leash right in stride and kept us updated throughout the weekend. We highly recommend him.

Maniyha did an amazing job of house- and dog-sitting for our grumpy (it's just his face!) Frenchie Brewer. He has recently had some mobility challenges, so our 35 lb boy needs to be lifted. She was up to the task. During our initial meet up, she asked great questions about his care and more importantly how often we wanted to receive updates. Not only did she update us, but **BONUS** she took amazing photos of Brewer which I have now saved. :-) The house and Brewer were in great shape when we returned. We will definitely be using her services again.

Rin was amazing, she communicated well & was very comforting to my anxious dog while staying at my apartment. She administered his daily medication with ease and made sure all his needs were met. She left the space clean and tidy after her stay and I would absolutely recommend her for your next sitting need!
Rebecca watched our two dogs while we were out of town for three nights. One of our dogs is slow to warm up but she warmed up to Rebecca quickly during the meet and greet. Communication was great before and during the sit and we came home to two happy dogs and a clean house.

Walter was great with our two pups. They clearly took a liking to him and he did a great job of keeping us informed of what was going on with them with his nightly report cards. Walter also left the house very clean and tidy for our arrival back home. We would definitely recommend Walter and ask him to care for our dogs in the future.

Leslie, we cannot thank you enough for how incredible you have been in our time of need. When we left our cats in your care to go to our own wedding, we had no idea that our sweet baby girl cat Vin would be diagnosed with cancer while we were away. You took such good care of her while we were on our honeymoon and even took her to her very first chemo appointment. We are so grateful to you. Thank you for being such a kind and nurturing presence for our cats and for us while we were anxiously awaiting Vin’s prognosis.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chillum walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chillum maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chillum choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
