Molly has been walking our dogs for a couple of weeks, and we couldn’t be happier! Our dog, Finn, is pretty nervous and weary of strangers, but Molly has been really patient with him! Would 100% recommend

Jordan was so amazing--took our dog on long walks, gave her tons of playtime, and sent such thorough updates and pics that it really helped with how much we were missing our puppy and gave us full confidence in her care. Our only worry when we got back was that she'd miss Jordan given how much fun they seemed to be having!

About: I love pets! I have experience house/dog sitting for clients that have taken vacations of up to 15 days. While house sitting, I can also bring in mail and water plants. In the past, I have been able to watch up to 2 dogs at a time. I love the exercise that comes from walking dogs, and I welcome dogs that have both high and low energy levels. When given specific instructions about caring for someone's dog, I always follow them, never letting my previous experience and "what I usually do" come before meeting the expectations of my clients. I have lived with at least one dog as a pet for 18 years of my life. Let me take care of your dog and be an extension of your love towards them when you cannot be there. I have graduate school classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, but I am free for pet care outside of those hours. I am flexible to work around your schedule. I’ve house sat and taken care of cats and dogs while I’ve lived in the house. I’ve also stopped by house periodically to walk dogs and feed them. I’m open to both methods.

Gio is absolutely wonderful. She takes Daphne and Samson out every week and also stayed with them this weekend while I was away, and I cannot say enough good things about her. She is incredibly kind, dependable, communicative, and genuinely cares about them. I came home to two very happy, relaxed dogs who had clearly been loved and spoiled all weekend. Daphne and Samson both adore her, and I always feel comfortable knowing they’re in her care. I’m so grateful to have found Gio and would absolutely recommend her!

Landy was wonderful with our dog Benji, who we are always cautious with because of his reactivity. She was super responsive, left our house cleaner than any sitter we've ever had, and made us feel instantly comfortable with her staying in our home. We'd love to have Landy sit for us again!

Maura took care of my dog (Brisket) for 6 days while we were out of the country. It’s my first time leaving my dog for more than a day and I was really unsure and scared but I felt completely at ease because of her. Maura is attentive, reliable, caring, sends pictures and updates, plays with him, takes him to the dog park, and follows all the instructions. Brisket is really happy and well taken care of. I highly recommend her! And would definitely trust her to watch Brisket again! Very very grateful for all the love and care she gave to Brisket :)

Maniyha was an awesome caretaker for my anxious dog Dobby. Maniyha handled his quirks and complicated medication regimen with ease. Maniyha seems to have a magic touch as Dobby seemed to be comfortable with her more quickly than most new people he meets. Dobby quickly accepted her and seemed to really enjoy his time with her. Maniyha provided updates and photos regularly and left us with a clean apartment and a well-cared-for dog upon our return. We are grateful we found Maniyha and have already booked her for future sits.

Jordan was a fantastic in-home, overnight sitter for our dog, Lily, who fell in love with Jordan during our very first meet & greet! Jordan provided the most amazing end-of-day reports and sent plenty of photos during their long walks, of Lily eating her meals, and their cuddle time at night. Jordan is friendly, punctual, responsible and highly engaged. We were at ease during our trip knowing that she was back at the house taking care of our fur baby! Will absolutely use Jordan again! 5-stars!

Aaron & Paweena (Fah) were great substitute parents to our divas Cinder & Sable. They were very respectful of our home, sent photos and videos, and were so helpful when we got stuck for extra days out of the country due to an airline strike. This was the longest we’ve left the dogs and we were happy we found such a nice, responsible couple to care for them.

We were a bit nervous traveling out of the country for 9 days, leaving behind our rather anxious (and less-than-trusting) Xavier, along with our overly-zealous (and a bit needy) Barnaby, with a sitter they didnt really know, for the first time. Well...there was NO reason to be nervous. Betty was superb! She connected with the doggos right away, and they enjoyed all of her attention throughout the week. When we came home, the boys were happy & healthy & content. The house was in great shape. Betty went above-and-beyond, taking care of the home-front with professionalism and maturity, sharing regular communications & photos. Thank you Betty. We hope to see you again soon!

Monica did an amazing job taking care of our three dogs (one of which is a senior dog with health issues). Monica stopped by ahead of time to meet our dogs and get all of the necessary information; she is extremely professional and responsible. We felt very lucky to have her taking care of our dogs while we were away. We highly recommend Monica!

FAQs for House Sitting - Langley Park

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Langley Park on Rover is $54.39 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 11,066 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Langley Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Langley Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Langley Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Langley Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Langley Park. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
