About: I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I believe in clear communication, punctuality, and following your pet’s routine to keep them happy and stress-free. You’ll receive regular updates and photos, so you always know how your furry friend is doing. My goal is to earn your trust by providing consistent, compassionate care every time! Providing attentive, consistent care throughout the day. Whether your pet needs companionship, walks, playtime, potty breaks, meals, or medication, I can easily incorporate their routine into my daily schedule and have in house help to accommodate to your pet as well, even when I’m personally not able to. I also know plenty pet-friendly locations, making it easy to keep active pets engaged while ensuring they receive plenty of attention. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. Fully fenced backyard that provides a secure space for dogs to run, play, and explore. Inside offers a calm, clean, and cozy environment where pets can relax and feel at home. Cats also have plenty of comfortable indoor spaces, including a bright sunroom that’s perfect for lounging or birdwatching. I treat every pet like family and always follow each owner’s instructions and routines to ensure a safe and stress-free experience.

Gio was an excellent dog walker. She helped me when my current dog walker could not continue walking buddy. She reported all the details of the visit efficiently and gave us peace of mind. She was informative and responsible. This was my first time using rover and I had a great experience thanks to Gio. She has a true love for dogs and what she does. I will definitely work with her in the future.

About: I've worked extensively as a caretaker at a dog daycare center, where I've cared for dogs with a wide range of personalities, temperaments, and play styles every day. Whether your dog is super energetic, anxious, older, or just needs a little extra patience and attention, I’m more than comfortable adapting to their needs. I’ve also worked as a farmhand, helping feed and care for animals like chickens and other livestock. I’ve also been around animals my whole life and currently care for a cat, an elderly black lab, and a young hound puppy. I’m a college student hoping to earn extra cash doing something I genuinely love! I treat every animal like one of my best friends and always aim to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Weekends are usually totally open at any time! Monday: 8–9:40 AM, 11 AM–12:10 PM, or after 4:10 PM Tuesday: 8–10:40 AM or after 3:35 PM Wednesday: 8 AM–12:10 PM, 1:45–2:40 PM, or after 4:10 PM Thursday: 8–10:40 AM or after 3:35 PM Friday: 8–11:40 AM, 1:10–2:40 PM, or after 4:10 PM With dogs, I’m very patient and comfortable with all personalities, including high-energy, excitable, or anxious dogs. I focus on calm and respectful handling and try to help very anxious dogs feel safe by giving them space, approaching slowly, and using gentle reassurance like calm voice and light petting on their side when appropriate, making sure to avoid direct eye contact when meeting them for the first time (dog code for "I'm chill"). I pay attention to body language and always aim to build trust rather than pressure them into an interaction. If a dog is acting out, I redirect their attention and follow any training or behavior instructions provided by the owner. With cats, I’m used to reading their behavior and giving them the space or attention they want. I understand that many cats are super independent and are protective about their space, but I also enjoy working with affectionate, social cats. I have experience caring for kittens, including feeding and basic hands-on care, as well as senior cats who may need routine medication or any extra attention.

About: I love pets! I have experience house/dog sitting for clients that have taken vacations of up to 15 days. While house sitting, I can also bring in mail and water plants. In the past, I have been able to watch up to 2 dogs at a time. I love the exercise that comes from walking dogs, and I welcome dogs that have both high and low energy levels. When given specific instructions about caring for someone's dog, I always follow them, never letting my previous experience and "what I usually do" come before meeting the expectations of my clients. I have lived with at least one dog as a pet for 18 years of my life. Let me take care of your dog and be an extension of your love towards them when you cannot be there. I have graduate school classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, but I am free for pet care outside of those hours. I am flexible to work around your schedule. I’ve house sat and taken care of cats and dogs while I’ve lived in the house. I’ve also stopped by house periodically to walk dogs and feed them. I’m open to both methods.

About: I’ve been involved with pet care my whole life! I’ve volunteered at PAW here in Maryland and worked as a Pet-care Specialist, Dog walker, and Pet sitter for cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, fish, and other small pets. I am knowledgeable in administering medicine to pets, and understanding animal body language. I’m currently doing pet care full-time! When I’m not caring for my own pets, I’m always looking for ways to help people care for theirs! I currently only have weekday availability. I always approach pets with care and respect! I understand that it’s possible for pets to come from all types of backgrounds, and am committed to making your pets feel the most comfortable they can!

About: What sets me apart is my endless patience and keen attention to detail—I treat every pet like they're my own. When I'm not spoiling my own kitties, you'll find me behind the camera, snapping cat photos to help them find their forever homes. I work full-time but am mostly home-based, which gives me the flexibility to provide plenty of attention and care for your pets throughout the day. Whether it's drop-ins, walking, or just taking a break to give your furry friend some love, I'm here to ensure they're happy and comfortable. Available on weekdays and weekends! Drop-In Visits / House Sitting: When visiting your home, I’ll ensure your pet has fresh food and water, take them out for a walk or let them out for a bathroom break, and spend quality time playing or cuddling with them. About: I am an avid dog lover. I take care of dogs in my neighborhood - from Chihuahua size to 100 pounds or more. We enjoy long walks and meeting new pup friends! I even include baths if necessary. For some reason, my account won’t let me remove House Sitting - I have a dog of my own. Unless our dogs are introduced and get along, I cannot do overnights. However, I can do multiple let outs - including late at night and early in the morning. Cats are also lovely creatures and although they may not need walking, they get their share of love, too! All pets welcome with me! I have reliable transportation. I’m 31 years old with a college degree and a full time job. I don’t smoke and can walk more than one dog at a time. I can promise that your animals and I will get along great! Please contact me if you have any further questions! I am always available. Thank you! I work full time in the southern Maryland area, however I have break times and morning/evening availability! I’m not opposed to travel and multiple let outs. I can care for your pets at your home or mine! I do not have a fenced backyard, but I do multiple walks every single day.

Maria has been just exceptional! She’s been walking my boy regularly for the last few weeks and she really puts her heart into looking after him. It was too hot to take him out for a full 1/2 hour so she spent the remainder of the time playing with and petting him. She’s also been great at letting me know how he’s been during the day. I’d highly recommend her!

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Adelphi. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Adelphi. On Rover:

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
