About: My childhood dog was obsessed with my dad, so I didn't *truly* embrace my love of dogs until I moved in with an anxious, expressive Weimaraner 15 years ago. Beyond walking and sitting my sweet "furnephew," I have cared for a sassy Chihuahua, a paranoid bowling ball (aka Pitbull), a ball-obsessed Jack Russell mix, and a shy English Springer. Most significantly, I co-owned a stubborn, aloof Shiba Inu for more than four years, starting at 9 weeks. He taught me a special appreciation for reactive, highly-vigilant, and misunderstood dogs. I was accustomed to writing detailed instructions to make sure my sensitive boy felt comfortable and safe with any walker or sitter. I work mostly from home, and I'm looking to fit in sitting and walking engagements into my downtime to get my dog fix. I will also be available some evenings and weekends. I live in a dog-free building, but I am ready to take care of your pet in your home to fit your needs. I'm comfortable crating dogs as you deem necessary, letting the dog roam in a fenced-in yard, playing with a variety of toys in your home, or taking your dogs on walks with my full attention.

About: I have pet sit for friends and neighbors for years, with dogs of all different shapes, sizes, and needs. I've walked dogs, checked in, or spent the night. I'm an avid animal lover and love meeting and spending time with new dogs! I'm a college student home for the summer with lots of flexibility in my schedule. Even though I'm a college student early mornings are fine with me, I'm happy to be with your dog any time of the day. I'm adaptable to whatever rules and established routines you have in your home. I don't mind getting up early and I'm an avid walker so I'm happy to get outside any time.
About: I had a small maltese-poodle mix for over 16 years who I personally trained, boarded dogs of a family friend, and walked rescue greyhounds and other rescues. I currently have pretty wide open availability with prior notice. I am allergic to cats so unfortunately cannot board cats, but am able to do drops-ins. I currently have a wide range of availability with prior notice while working a PRN job in healthcare with the elderly. Currently available for weekdays and weekends. I will follow any instructions given to a T while striving to maintain the routine your pet is accustomed to, while giving them plenty of scratches and belly rubs and cuddles :) I understand some rescues prefer less physical touch due to trust and comfort issues, and I will proceed with whatever level of touch your pet chooses to engage with me.
About: I’ve loved all kinds of animals my entire life. Cats, dogs, hamsters, mice, birds, fish, chickens, you name it! Right now I have a sweet black kitty cat and a self-important chihuahua. Keeping multiple personalities happy is my superpower. Your pet is about to get SO much love and attention. We're talking belly rubs, treats (with your permission, obviously), and someone who can make them feel so special and loved while you're away! I can do medication schedules, I can do endless fetch, I can do "please just sit next to me while I exist" whatever your baby needs. I currently work from home so I have the flexibility to pop over to your house and be a friendly presence and go on walks whenever! I always start by learning your pet's routine, preferences, and quirks so I can keep things as familiar and comfortable as possible for them. Whether it's sticking to their feeding schedule, keeping up with walks and playtime, or just being there for cozy hangout time, I follow their lead. I'm great about communication. You'll get regular updates and photos so you know how things are going. And if anything seems off with your pet's behavior or health, I'll let you know right away. Whether I'm caring for your pet at your home or just swinging by for a walk, my focus is the same: keeping your pet safe, happy, and well-loved until you're reunited. 🐾
“I was impressed with Daniel right from the start! He is a very humble, respectful, responsible, kind young man who loves animals. My dog Sophie immediately took to him and she would have great walks with him. I asked a lot from Daniel when I went on holiday…and he delivered! He came to my home for 10 days to not only walk my dog but also feed her…give her medicine, and as a bonus, he played with her. Socializing w Sophie went a long way because she was alone most of the time. He would always be on time and, when another dog walker canceled, he quickly covered that shift. No questions or higher charge. He sent a lot of photos too. Since I’ve been back from my holiday, I’ve been in poor health. I texted Daniel and he is now my dog walker on days when I’m unable to take Sophie out myself. Again, punctual & always thinking about what’s best for my dog…. For example, He remembers to dry Sophie’s paws when they arrive from a walk in the snow or rain. I highly recommend Daniel as your dog walker or sitter.”

“Isabelle walks my goldendoodle furchild every day and she’s such an important part of Maya’s life. To start, she’s super communicative and reliable, which makes it really easy to plan and coordinate walks and dogcare with her. She was also great about learning what behaviors we try to reinforce, Maya’s habits and routines and what Maya eats, which gives me the warm and fuzzies that as a parent, aunt Isabelle is staying consistent with dad’s rules. Isabelle is so great with dogs and has good judgment generally; seeing how she interacts with Maya and hearing her describe how Maya did on a given walk, I trust her implicitly. Lately she’s been really helpful in figuring out fun new walking routes or destinations that cater to Maya’s interests and mood and energy level. Yep Isabelle is a wonderful dog “auntie” and just a delightful human being. I don’t know what her advertised rates are on here, but you should pay them and then some. Isabelle, get after it girl. Charge people what you’re worth! ?”

“We’ve been working with Jennifer for over a month now, and she has been absolutely amazing! She’s incredibly communicative and so flexible with my unpredictable schedule—I can book her a few days in advance, and she always accommodates. Since we just moved from Kansas, my dogs have had a tough time adjusting, especially one who has anxiety, but Jennifer handles them with such care and kindness. Both my girls are so comfortable with her—she’s truly a gem! I can’t recommend her enough!”

“Juan is definitely an animal person and is very caring and thoughtful about his clients and their pets. He’s punctual and communicative. My dog looks forward to his visits!”

“Manuel was wonderful with my dog. He needs a little time to warm up to new people and Manuel went out of his way to spend extra time making sure Tigger felt comfortable. I will be using Manuel's services again for sure.”

“Ari is AWESOME!! My dog Milo has terrible separation anxiety and is dealing with living in a new home. Ari spent so much time with him trying comfort and reassure him. After one day with her walking him he was barking and jumping on her when she walked in the door. She gives him cuddles, talks to him (which he loves) and hides treats for him so he will be busy for a while when she walks out the door. I would absolutely recommend Ari. :)”

“I’m so happy we have found Molly! She walks our goldendoodle regularly and takes such good care of her. She is quick to respond and leaves us great photos and summaries in her rover cards!”

About: Growing up I raised four Seeing Eye Dogs. All through my teens and 20s I took care of friends and family dogs happily! I have always been dog lover and just adopted a dog, Marcy, last year. I love the responsibility and having out with pups. I am a teacher therefore I have summers off, almost all holidays off, and great working hours. During the school year, I will be at work during the day. I currently live in a very dog friendly apartment/townhome style complex. The complex has a massive dog park that I love to take my pooch to daily.
About: I have been pet sitting since I was a little kid. I love animals and will make your pet happy while their owner is gone. I work shifts so I have full days off where I will be able to be with your pet as much as is needed. I am an active individual who will not mind talking your pet on a long walk or run if needed. I will give your pet all the care that is needed to ensure that they are happy and healthy while you are out and about. Please let me know if you have any questions about my experience, skills or what I can do for your furry friend. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

My Luna girl LOVED Makaylah and was comfortable with her from the get go- which doesn’t always happen as Luna has… big feels lol. Makaylah handled her well, gave her good exercise, and communicated well with me regarding walks (and her move 😔)Sad to see her move away, she is great!

Absolutely thrilled with Ozge dog walking services! She’s incredibly trustworthy, always respectful with my dog, and does an excellent job every time. She spends the time to get my dog tired and sends multiple pictures each time. Her communication is prompt and clear, which makes everything so easy. I highly recommend her to any dog parent looking for a reliable walker. Highly recommend for anyone looking in falls church to walk or watch their dog!

Lei has been absolutely wonderful with Freya these past few months! Freya is always so happy when she stops by. She is so attentive and caring with her, wiping her paws and making sure it’s not too hot for her to be outside long. She went above and beyond staying past the appointment time when Freya was stubborn and wouldn’t poop right away. Thank you so much for everything!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
